These clients had perviously worked in this space and had issues sound when multiple people were on the phone. It was important for me to create a space that was not only beautiful, but was functional from all aspects. The slated wood wall covering is an acoustic paneling that absorbs sound to make the space more usable for calls.

We recently had the pleasure of completing a remarkable backyard makeover that presented us with some exciting challenges and opportunities for creativity. Our clients wanted to revamp their backyard, focusing on enhancing functionality and creating a low-maintenance, beautiful outdoor space. One of the main objectives was to expand the usable patio area without the need to tear out and pour new concrete. To achieve this, we carefully considered the existing patio curves, respecting their unique shape and making the entire area look intentionally designed. Additionally, drainage was a crucial concern. We took the initiative to install proper drainage solutions to prevent water pooling and ensure the longevity of the space. Our client, an MMA enthusiast, had a specific request to elevate his training experience. To accommodate this, we designed a raised platform with putting-green turf, providing the ideal spot for his Body Opponent bag while maintaining a clean and mud-free training area. For the plant-loving homeowner, we incorporated beautiful Austin limestone chopped block raised beds with a central irrigation system. This resulted in aesthetically pleasing and low-maintenance raised planters, adding vibrant greenery and a touch of nature to the backyard. We utilized the pallet of paver bricks they already had on hand to create practical hardscape walking pads, connecting different areas of the backyard while seamlessly blending with the design. Despite the challenges, we successfully turned their backyard into a fully functional and inviting outdoor retreat. The space now embraces their passions, meets their desires, and offers a tranquil escape for relaxation and enjoyment.

Renovating the worn master bath of this 1950’s contemporary ranch was a challenge, but the Renovisions team took the task in stride. The biggest design challenge was enlarging the bathroom while also creating a usable and functional sitting area adjacent to their master bedroom. A few of the design highlights included; the pocket door which created an unencumbered space in the bath, a larger sized shower with no door and a lineal drain with curbless shower entry, larger format porcelain tiles, a shower niche, heated floors with a programmable thermostat, and a one piece concealed trap skirted toilet. Clipping the corner wall upon entering the sitting room softened the shape of the room and ensured comfortable walking space through the hallway into the master bedroom. The homeowners particularly love the customizations of the stylish designed vanity which included ample space to store bath supplies in the full extension drawers and a bottom shelf for towels. The custom Benjamin Moore dark blue/grey colored cabinetry and framed mirror looks stunning with the Silestone’s ‘Pulsar’ quartz countertop and shelf pieces. They also loved the gray-blue muted marble tones of the 12”x24” shower wall field tile and chose a bright mosaic-look tile for the rear wall of the shower niche. Replacing the older windows provided more natural light into both the bathroom and sitting room spaces. With spa-worthy, on-trend, creative uses of space, this ‘Renovision’ was enjoyed and appreciated by these homeowners!

Rather than treating the new structure as an afterthought, the goal was to create a home that felt architecturally connected to the existing property. Its traditional exterior, white siding, steeply pitched roof, generous windows and carefully proportioned trim give the small residence the character of an established home. The project was created for the homeowners' mother, who downsized from her large lakefront home in the Midwest to move closer to her family and young grandchild. The result captures one of the greatest advantages of multigenerational living: family and shared community just steps away, balanced with the independence, privacy and comfort of a home of her own. Inside, every inch was carefully considered. The compact footprint feels remarkably open thanks to a vaulted, white-paneled ceiling, abundant natural light, tall windows and an open vertical design that draws the eye upward. A loft level expands the usable living space without sacrificing the airy feeling of the main floor. Traditional white Shaker-style cabinetry provides extensive built-in storage throughout the home and gives the interior a clean, timeless architectural character. We embraced a transitional design style, featuring the Lancaster door in the stunning Midnight SuperMatte Blue color, bringing a sophisticated yet timeless look to the kitchen. Beautiful Cambria Quartz Swan Bridge countertops, replacing the old laminate, and added custom cabinets from the Kitchen Solvers Legacy Collection. The kitchen also features a new wine fridge, seamlessly incorporated into the reverse angle wall. We transformed blocked-off areas into custom wine cubbies, adding a touch of elegance and functionality. The kitchen now includes various rollouts and pull-outs, as well as a larger pantry, enhancing the overall storage and usability. The team did an outstanding job on this kitchen remodel.

We designed the BSB Laneway House to fit a narrow (7.6m / 25’) lot and achieve 3 goals: 1. Maximize interior living space; 2. Preserve privacy between the suite and its existing neighbours; and 3. Meet all bylaws without relaxations. The massing follows the side and height chamfering setback rules, leaving us with some creative solutions to fit everything in. We stacked 2 of the 3 parking stalls within a single-wide garage using a lift & pit system for any-time access to either vehicle. Next to the garage is the third stall, which recesses the entry away from the lane and can double as a patio. The main floor hosts the front entry and master suite, both filled with natural light from the perimeter transom windows that are high enough to limit sight lines to/from neighbours. Linear millwork closets provide ample storage and concealed utilities. The upper level is a wide-open floor plan, perfect for entertaining. Skylights and large windows at either end flood the space with light throughout the day. The raised kitchen and dining space leads out to the rooftop terrace above the garage. There’s even an optional basement for even more usable space and storage!

This 1950s house started with a musty old basement. With some waterproofing, epoxy flooring, and some creativity, we transformed it into a usable and beautiful space! The steel framing will ensure that the studs last for a very long time.

TThis young couple, busy raising two young boys (plus a playful cat), had always planned to renovate—it was just a matter of finding the right people for the job. Their biggest concern? Hiring a contractor they could truly rely on to bring their vision to life without added stress. The master ensuite simply wasn’t working. A large, unused deck-mount tub dominated the space, while the tiny, dim shower made daily routines uncomfortable. The layout didn’t make sense for how they actually used the room, which ended up being mostly for the toilet and vanity. On top of that, the master bedroom sat in an open loft without proper walls or a door, making privacy nearly impossible. Our solution involved a thoughtful reconfiguration of the ensuite. We removed the oversized tub and replaced it with a spacious walk-in shower. The old, cramped shower space became the perfect spot for a relocated vanity, allowing for better flow and use of the room. Up in the loft, we built a new wall with a door to give the bedroom the privacy it was missing. The stairway was also refreshed with new oak treads and a stained handrail to match the existing flooring. One challenge during construction was installing the custom shower glass and tile within the sloped ceilings and angled walls—but our team carefully managed every detail to ensure a precise and polished finish. The new master ensuite now feels like a retreat. Handmade-style blue subway tiles add a calming pop of colour in the shower, paired with crème porcelain floor tiles. A prefabricated solid wood vanity with quartz countertop, brushed nickel fixtures, and an electric towel warmer complete the space—bringing comfort and functionality together beautifully. A fun moment during the design phase? We used stools, tables, and even a piano to mock up the future layout—helping the homeowners get a real feel for the spacing between the new vanity and toilet. It was a creative, hands-on way to ensure everyone felt confident moving forward. Now, the ensuite functions exactly as it should: a fully usable and relaxing 3-piece bathroom, styled just the way they wanted. And with the new loft wall and door, the bedroom finally feels like a true primary suite—private, peaceful, and made for them.

Often considered unusable, wasted space, the hillsides of many southern California homes are considered, at best, as an afterthought in landscape planning. With creativity and craftsmanship, however, we can transform any hill into something usable, and with foliage we can make it a visual destination in itself. This massive back slope was re-formed from a steep, overgrown hill into a series of terraced gardens. Access upslope is through a grand yet informal set of outdoor wooden steps bound on each side by a pair of three symmetrical cascades of semi-circular, flowing retaining walls. The homeowner requested that the foliage be drought-tolerant, and that is exactly what we delivered. From wasted space to best of show.

This remodel project in Kirkland involved a new chef’s kitchen, updated family room and fully transformed bathrooms. The once dark and dated kitchen was completely reimagined by brightening the space, reconfiguring the island to create a larger and more usable cooking area and maximizing the storage throughout by adding custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry. The transformed bathrooms find the perfect balance of design harmony and practicality through creative layout enhancements coupled with a charming modern farmhouse vibe.
