This airy kitchen features our US Shaker White cabinetry with a highlighted island in Upton Brown. We love the increased family eating space coupled with increased storage by the utilization of a normally under utilized back side of the island.

When a client tells us they’re a mid-century collector and long for a kitchen design unlike any other we are only too happy to oblige. This kitchen is saturated in mid-century charm and its custom features make it difficult to pin-point our favorite aspect! Cabinetry We had the pleasure of partnering with one of our favorite Denver cabinet shops to make our walnut dreams come true! We were able to include a multitude of custom features in this kitchen including frosted glass doors in the island, open cubbies, a hidden cutting board, and great interior cabinet storage. But what really catapults these kitchen cabinets to the next level is the eye-popping angled wall cabinets with sliding doors, a true throwback to the magic of the mid-century kitchen. Streamline brushed brass cabinetry pulls provided the perfect lux accent against the handsome walnut finish of the slab cabinetry doors. Tile Amidst all the warm clean lines of this mid-century kitchen we wanted to add a splash of color and pattern, and a funky backsplash tile did the trick! We utilized a handmade yellow picket tile with a high variation to give us a bit of depth; and incorporated randomly placed white accent tiles for added interest and to compliment the white sliding doors of the angled cabinets, helping to bring all the materials together. Counter We utilized a quartz along the counter tops that merged lighter tones with the warm tones of the cabinetry. The custom integrated drain board (in a starburst pattern of course) means they won’t have to clutter their island with a large drying rack. As an added bonus, the cooktop is recessed into the counter, to create an installation flush with the counter surface. Stair Rail Not wanting to miss an opportunity to add a touch of geometric fun to this home, we designed a custom steel handrail. The zig-zag design plays well with the angles of the picket tiles and the black finish ties in beautifully with the black metal accents in the kitchen. Lighting We removed the original florescent light box from this kitchen and replaced it with clean recessed lights with accents of recessed undercabinet lighting and a terrifically vintage fixture over the island that pulls together the black and brushed brass metal finishes throughout the space. This kitchen has transformed into a strikingly unique space creating the perfect home for our client’s mid-century treasures.

Coming from the Bay area, our clients spend a lot of time in Tahoe and therefore purchased a vacation home within close proximity to Heavenly Mountain. Their intention was to utilize the three-bedroom, three-bathroom, single-family home as a vacation rental but also as a part-time, second home for themselves. Being a vacation rental, budget was a top priority. We worked within our clients’ parameters to create a mountain modern space with the ability to sleep 10, while maintaining durability, functionality and beauty. We’re all thrilled with the result. We took our Boulder clients through an amazing transformation! Almost every room in their home has been remodeled to better reflect their tastes and create spaces that functions better for their family. We utilized natural materials every step of the way and designed a balance of mid-century inspired touches and cool contemporary finishes. In the living room we removed the existing half-wall to open up the entry and dining room and create an easier transition between spaces. To make the fireplace the focal point of the living room we designed a beautiful wall of honed sandstone and sourced a reclaimed wood mantel. Increasing storage was a necessity for this home, so we added a much needed closet to the dining room, and designed semi custom floating cabinetry for the living room & dining room. We added a custom barn door to their family room to give them the option of closing the television off from the rest of their home. The clients really wanted to brighten up their dark kitchen, so we removed the black cabinets and red backsplash to make room for beautiful natural wood cabinets and a custom clay tile backsplash. Contemporary touches like a zero radius stainless steel sink, concrete light fixtures, and a double waterfall counter-top continue to echo the clean lines utilized through out the rest of the home. For the two first floor bathrooms we removed barrels full of mosaic tile and installed large scale white and grey tiles, making the rooms feel larger and reign in the visual texture. We continued to use the cool tones and clean lines in the bathrooms to tie them in with the rest of the home and give us a unified feel between spaces.

Amber works from home and was sacrificing a dining room for her home office. By utilizing the double wide closet space in her guest bedroom, she now walks into her home without the reminder of work, and can have guests over for a meal in her dining room (dining room reveal coming soon). The walls were freshly painted Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. This gives the room a fresh, clean look and also adds contrast to the beige carpet. Amber had her homework assignments cut out for her as she had to do some major purging in her throw all guest room. Once she started letting go, she was on a roll and continually surprised me as she cleaned out closets throughout the house. One dresser was filled with cds, dvds, books, albums, scrap-booking materials; items taking up precious real estate in her life that she didn't even know were there. There really wasn't a storage problem after-all, she was just holding on to a collection of things that no longer served her. Each time I would visit, and her space would become more open, I could see the weight lifting off her and her self love building. Amber had a recent breakup with her boyfriend and this makeover helped her not only focus on making a home sanctuary for herself, but helped her let go of the pains of the past and focus on the exciting future ahead. At one point when we were moving sofas in the living room (which we will also reveal soon), we found an ex's flip-flop. We were figuratively and literally sweeping away the past. Editing your home and your life makes room for your future; for new people and things. We are so happy to finally reveal the room to you! We can't wait to unveil the rest of Amber's home, once we complete the finishing touches. Challenges: Amber's home was filled with mix-matched furniture from family and college. She had no idea what her decorating style was. After shopping together and exchanging somepinterest boards, I was finally able to get a sense of what she loves. I had to work on a tight budget, which meant really digging out the creativity and utilizing other items in the home. We wanted to save the closet doors in the event she sold her home or no longer needed an office someday. There wasn't any extra space to store these closet doors, so I used them as a headboard. The only items purchased were: Curtains, Curtain Rod, Bedspread Set, Throw Pillows, 2 Lamps and Paint.

Full basement finish with a transitional design. These clients wanted a space in their home to entertain and gather with their friends and family. They really love making cocktails and playing board games. We built a custom bar area with custom cabinets and an island to be able to utilize for seating and hosting. There is a lot of great storage space with the linen cabinet built ins, plus the cabinets in the bar area. We also put in a bathroom and shower as they host friends and family from out of town often. It was important to make the best of their small basement as they planned to utilize the space often. The basement ceilings were very low before we finished it and the home owner is very tall so we maximized their ceiling heights. We made the best of the entire space as this couple now is fully enjoying it on the daily! Cheers to new memories with loved ones!

Designed by Sheryl Manning of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Charlotte, NC in collaboration with Home Care & Remodeling, this multi-room design includes a kitchen, pantry and laundry room. The kitchen and pantry feature the Merillat Masterpiece Turner door style in the finishes Onyx and Barley. The laundry room features Merillat Basics Collins in a Cotton finish with Bally Butcher Block maple tops. Reico provided the design, cabinets and butcher block for this project. “This remodel of a 1979 home was challenging but fun! The homeowner had a very clear idea of what they wanted, and chose a modern transitional look with a Parisian influence, utilizing the Onyx finish with Brushed Gold hardware, and natural wood floating shelves, finished in a light brown Barley stain,” said Sheryl. “We utilized every space, opening up a large closet for the oven and pantry cabinet and a small closet to form an art/display niche. The laundry room was not functional, with just a small wall for the washer-dryer. We placed wall cabinets above, pulling them forward 6" for ease of access. Modern Closet Project with a limited amount of space and a lot of things to be stored. It was a high priority to maximize the storage spaces by utilizing as much available space as possible. The closet it replaced had nearly 6 feet of space above the highest shelf. This system allowed the client to utilize the space and storage potential.

Tilt Turn windows and doors can be combined in numerous configurations with casement, awning, and fixed windows as they utilize the same profile system. The seamless integration of windows provides a uniform appearance and customization beyond compare. Tilt turn windows are a very unique and functional European window, applicable in endless applications. These windows are quickly gaining popularity in the United States. These windows have been manufactured for almost a hundred years, starting out in Europe in the early 1900′s. The beauty of a tilt turn window is its dual action. The window will open like a casement window and will tilt in at the top. Each window is customized to your exact specifications. Tilt turn doors are also available; the window is capable of being manufactured to fit large openings. Glancing at the window, one cannot tell that the window has two functions. The window will swing inward when opened like a casement, with a screen on the window’s exterior. The window can then be hinged at the bottom and open inward at the top. Both actions are activated by the turn of a lever, which controls all the mechanics within the frame. There are great benefits to these operations. Ample fresh air can pass into the room when opened like a casement. When the window is open at the top, it functions as a safety precaution. Small children cannot climb up the window and fall through it as in a traditional double hung window. The same function prevents intruders from entering a room. There is simply no way to climb up the window and fit through the small opening; but ventilation is still possible. A tilt and turn window can be used in both residential and commercial applications. The window can be utilized in almost any room within a residential home. A home’s exterior is a great place for the windows as are sunrooms and pool enclosures. Commercial applications include restaurants, office buildings, and high rise apartments. A condominium on the thirtieth floor cannot typically be cleaned, except by a professional cleaning service; tilt turn windows open inward and allow for complete cleaning of the window units with out calling costly professionals. Weather it's a historic building, detached private residence, office building or a multi-family house, stylish window profiles can achieve consistency of design between the building's exterior and interior walls. PVC profile is made from UV stabilized materials protecting windows from solar expositon and discoloration. This problem is often observed with standard vinyl windows. In addition, our profiles are reinforced with galvanized steel, which makes them exceptionally durable. This feature is important for large windows, which require greater strength and stability. High thermal insulation of PVC material combined with multi chamber profile structure ensures the highest comfort of living. In fact uPVC windows have the highest energy rating in the US outperforming all brands of wooden windows. This kitchen in a 1911 Craftsman home has taken on a new life full of color and personality. Inspired by the client’s colorful taste and the homes of her family in The Philippines, we leaned into the wild for this design. The first thing the client told us is that she wanted terra cotta floors and green countertops. Beyond this direction, she wanted a place for the refrigerator in the kitchen since it was originally in the breakfast nook. She also wanted a place for waste receptacles, to be able to reach all the shelves in her cabinetry, and a special place to play Mahjong with friends and family. The home presented some challenges in that the stairs go directly over the space where we wanted to move the refrigerator. The client also wanted us to retain the built-ins in the dining room that are on the opposite side of the range wall, as well as the breakfast nook built ins. The solution to these problems were clear to us, and we quickly got to work. We lowered the cabinetry in the refrigerator area to accommodate the stairs above, as well as closing off the unnecessary door from the kitchen to the stairs leading to the second floor. We utilized a recycled body porcelain floor tile that looks like terra cotta to achieve the desired look, but it is much easier to upkeep than traditional terra cotta. In the breakfast nook we used bold jungle themed wallpaper to create a special place that feels connected, but still separate, from the kitchen for the client to play Mahjong in or enjoy a cup of coffee. Finally, we utilized stair pullouts by all the upper cabinets that extend to the ceiling to ensure that the client can reach every shelf.

We had the opportunity recently to provide a new kitchen and flooring for a fantastic couple in Safety Harbor. In 2022 they came to us with ideas of how to better utilize their kitchen space and we discussed what options they had and delivered on a stunning new kitchen for them. This design had us utilize some previously unused space in their home to add more features like a wine bar. Also in the design were new windows and doors to finish off the look. The kitchen was finished off in a white shaker cabinet from Yorktowne Cabinets that were provided by Pro Source of Port Richey. The finished product more than speaks for itself.

This project packs a solid punch. From the full kitchen area nestled under the pent roof, to the patio below complete with drainage system for rain or shine enjoyment – there is a lot to take in! Starting on the deck, we utilized Trex’ low maintenance decking to really set off this nice open expanse, it is an amazing product that allows us to heat & bend the deck boards to create both the curve on the deck, and the high-top counter! The homeowner is now equipped to cook a full Thanksgiving meal on their new outdoor kitchen, with plenty of space to host the whole family! Below, we were able to utilize stamped concrete for the patio, a great cost-efficient option to finish out any project!

Our client had already used Twisted Rock previously for a different project and we were blessed enough to have them utilize our services again!! They wanted another clean-looking, low maintenance yard that was functional with great curb appeal that would not take a bunch of time to maintain. We utilized natural rock, concrete edging, and aggregate as well as created a fire pit patio for cozy family nights under the stars....

This completed character Kitchen designed & crafted especially for our Client's Victorian Farmhouse was completely renovated top to bottom to ensure old electrical & ventilation issues were addressed. The Walls & Ceilings were levelled and new materials added for insulation value & health. The fascinating original patina of the wainscoting & floors was left as is. An interior Wall was supported, engineered & removed to allow the natural light from an exterior Window to enter the main Kitchen & to create an expansive run of Cabinets from the Cooking zone to the Cleaning zone. Custom Cabinetry throughout & utilization of the vertical storage potential were fully utilized. Warm Metal tones, crisp White & stunning Blue create a lovely palette for this reinvented heart of our Clients Home. We hope they enjoy this space with their Family & Friends for years to come!

This remodel took an extremely dark & dated kitchen and transformed it into a bright and airy happy place for our client. The existing conditions created a dark, hall-like kitchen that greatly lacked in function and did little to optimize storage. Realizing the potential of this truly massive space, we created a design that utilizes every inch of the kitchen and creates functional cooking and prep space as well as pantry storage and work nooks. Our first order of business was to demo out the blocky corner that separated the kitchen from the living room. This involved removing an existing fireplace, re-structuring a wall, and having an entirely new furnace installed in the basement to eliminate a duct running right through the corner we hoped to eliminate. After opening up the space, we focused on highlighting and brightening the room. New NuCore flooring was installed to give the kitchen a fresh look while offering optimal function and cleanability. Two-toned cabinets in a honey maple and painted silk were used to create a warm and comfortable balance throughout the space. New quartz countertops in MSI's canvas were installed, and butcher block was installed on the two desk areas to offer a warm visual relief and casual work surface. The color palette for the kitchen is reminiscent of a cozy apothecary; we utilized fresh greens with Sherwin Williams paint on the walls and Treviso Gray Sage glazed subway tiles on the backsplash. Over the sink, we designed a playful highlight with counter-to-ceiling mini brick mosaic in a dark crackle green. We introduced additional lighting throughout including new recessed lights, over-sink light, and under-cabinet lights. New appliances were introduced to the space as well, and we complimented the stainless steel of these fixtures to the transitional nickel hardware on the cabinets. This space now feels open and inviting, and is visible from the second you enter the front door! We are so proud of this result and so happy that our clients can enjoy this gorgeous kitchen for years to come.

This kitchen remodel utilizes the smaller spaces that occur in high rises and townhomes by bringing cabinets up to the ceiling and utilizing the idea of open concept design. The navy blue lower cabinets and white upper cabinets offer a welcome contrast complemented by the use of mixed metal hardware including gold fixtures and silver appliances, along with a modern and convenient ventilation system that rises at the push of a button to create a safe cooking environemnt on the stove.
