This vegetable garden was created on a small hillside with the use of retaining walls to level a portion of the slope. Integrating this garden space into the sloping portion of the back yard kept the level areas of lawn open for easy use as “play” space for the entire family. The flowering tree in the back ground is a tree lilac (Syringa reticulata 'Ivory Silk').

The Aurora can be labeled as a greenhouse shed combo. It includes four large aluminum windows with tempered glass for safety. Grants Gardens developed a naturalistic and sustainable waterfront property. A bayfront property that had to withstand drought, floods and salt water from storm tides. The final design is a sustainable tropical beach with sandy soil held in place by Florida native plants.

Example of a transitional home design design in Vancouver

This project was an exploration in taking and urban corner lot and transforming it into and urban farm of sorts. The project incorporated rainwater tanks, raised vegetable beds, fruit trees, chicken coop, prefab studio, composite deck, poured in place concrete, pre-cast concrete, custom wood features, a green wall, custom bench/fountain, lighting, swimming pool with solar hot water heating, an outdoor kitchen, drip irrigation which is controlled by smart phone, landscape lighting which can be controlled by smart phone. A fun project where we melded contemporary elements with sustainable/ self sufficient principles.
