Moss Garden: A Living Carpet of Tranquility
A moss garden is a serene, low-maintenance landscape feature that evokes a profound sense of calm and natural beauty. Composed of vibrant, velvety mosses that thrive in shaded, humid environments, these gardens offer a soft, carpet-like groundcover that replaces traditional lawns or gravel with rich, green texture.
At Westland Design, our moss gardens are thoughtfully integrated into the overall landscape to enhance a feeling of timelessness and stillness. Whether nestled beneath the canopy of trees, edging a stone pathway, or surrounding a tranquil water feature, moss brings subtle movement and color to quiet corners of the garden.
Key qualities of a moss garden include:
Evergreen softness: Moss provides lush, year-round greenery that requires no mowing or fertilizing.
Quiet beauty: It absorbs sound, contributing to a peaceful, contemplative environment.

TIEMPO, Designed by JORGE PENSI DESIGN STUDIO,
Debuts Exclusively for JANUS et Cie;
Modular Lounge Collection Redefines Luxury Teak Furnishings
Tiempo, the striking new teak collection designed by architect and designer Jorge Pensi exclusively for
JANUS et Cie, delivers sophisticated seating that allures and endures in most any setting.
“Tiempo is a dream come true. Jorge Pensi exceeded my expectations, creating a collection that is grand
on every level, from style and engineering to functionality,” said JANUS et Cie president and CEO
Janice Feldman.
The artistry of Tiempo can be found in its sleek architectural design, impeccably crafted from premium
solid teak and innovative teak veneer into beautiful geometric angles. The immaculately finished
surfaces provide a rich, contemporary backdrop for the extensive choices of more than 200 textiles.
These range from velvety solids and vivid stripes to textured florals and patterns.
“Our aim is always to excite as many senses as possible,” said Pensi with reference to his Barcelona-based
design studio team. “In Tiempo, we got there by challenging the usual logic, using as few resources as
possible to create something that is at once exotic and refined, solid with a feeling of lightness.”
The legs are made of electro-polished stainless steel with a unique finish for exterior use. The Modules
are joined together using a special bracketed leg to create seamless seating ensembles. Assembly
requires minimal connector legs, which helps to reduce visual clutter. The Modules and Tables mix and
match into endless configurations, and arrangement possibilities range from intimate to expansive. All
of these collection details establish Tiempo as a game-changer in the industry.
“Tiempo translates as ‘time’ in Spanish,” said Feldman. “Jorge and I hope this seating not only has
longevity, but also inspires great moments and memories.”
The Tiempo collection, which is designed for indoor and outdoor use, features a Lounge Chair, Right
End and Left End Modules which feature teak sides and available with and without soft-close drawers,
upholstered Left End and Right End Modules, a Corner Module, a Center Module, a Double Center
Module, a Cocktail Table, and an Grande Cocktail Table.

This exquisite kitchen design is presenting us with a skillful combination of contrast: the bright wood surfaces meet the velvety matt lacquer, the warm tone of the wood meets the cooler air of the carbon gray. The seamless transition from the dark countertops (decided in granite, marble or metal) into the light wooden cabinetry and structures possesses intriguing aesthetics. The fresh green accents add to the unique and charming composition of materials, textures, and colors.

Neutrals, pale blues and earthy greens were used throughout the house, evoking coastal vibes that still complement the woods beyond the windows. Since the house is open floor plan with cathedral ceilings, color drenching creates a soft and consistent canvas. Textures like linen wrapped consoles and velvety sofas contribute to the sumptuous look, while the fabrics are all pet friendly to accommodate the clients' dogs. The fireplace surround is New England stone, suitable for Rhode Island.

The Living Room
The Window treatments were the best way to add color and instant style to the living room. The base color is a very tone and tone palette of creams and tans. Introducing the apricot accent color really created an instant revamp of the room adding a fresh, updated look to the space and bringing it to life. We have accentuated the height of the room with a floor to ceiling window treatment which created more dimension to the space and we layered textures from the flowery rug to the leather ottoman and the linen sofa covered with velvety cushions. This striking photorealistic digital artwork, "Black Beauty," presents an exquisite black dahlia in captivating detail. The black color flower's velvety petals are adorned with glistening water droplets, adding a touch of natural elegance and texture against the profound darkness of the background. A subtle reflection below the bloom enhances its striking presence, creating a powerful and minimalist composition that truly celebrates the unique beauty of this floral subject. This piece of floral wall art is a testament to sophisticated simplicity.
"Black Beauty" would integrate beautifully into several decorating styles. Its minimalist composition and dramatic color palette make it ideal for Modern and Contemporary spaces, where it can serve as a bold yet refined focal point. For Industrial aesthetics, its dark tones and clean lines would complement raw materials and urban sophistication. It also works wonderfully in Minimalist interiors, offering depth and visual interest without clutter. In a Glam or Art Deco inspired room, the black dahlia's inherent elegance and the artwork's refined presentation would add a touch of luxurious drama.
