Hibiscus People often think of hibiscus as a tropical flower — which it is. But it will thrive surprisingly well elsewhere, including the northeast. They do need lots of space, rich well-drained soil, and plenty of water but are worth the coddling. Some varieties of hibiscus can grow into trees. How about that.

Charming 83 year old farmhouse on four glorious acres with a waterfall koi pond, walking paths, lovely plantings, a fenced in garden area and a stand alone sauna house with a rocking chair porch. The main level has a nice open floor plan with a country kitchen, pantry, dining area and large living room with a free standing wood stove, which leads out to and a spacious screened porch with cathedral ceiling and skylights. This ski-in, ski-out condo features a strong Arts and Crafts influence. The interiors feature reclaimed oak floors, mortise-and-tenon carpentry, stone, and custom period details.

Front lawn was treated, weeded, leveled and hedged the area where new vegetation was to be placed. We choose a variety of burgundy color plants to play contrast with the blue walls. We used against the front wall Black Vanish hedge (arbusto Mosaico Vino); Breynia Nivosa (arbusto Nevado Rosa); Dianella Tasmanica, a variety of sun resistant bromeliads. The area was flanked by a adult 6 ft. Dracaena marginata ‘Tricolor’ and two Cordyline'' sp. 'pink integrity' – leaves and also an adult 6 ft tall Rutacea Murraya Paniculata Mirto (Café de la India)

This zen inspired vegetable garden is so beautiful and unique! Our customer was beyond thrilled when she was the final product, and so were we! Enter through the gate and guide yourself down the spiral path that lets you see and have access to every inch of the garden. There are so many veggies this family will be enjoying fresh harvests well into fall! The flowers planted around the garden on the outside of the fence provide so much vibrant color they definitely won't need to buy any store made bouquets this year! Frank Crandall
