McCabe By Design LLCA waterfront home on acreage with stunning views started as a modest Mid-Century Modern and was expanded (by an owner prior to our client) and made into a Craftsman-esque abode. The South-facing Kitchen addition (disproportionate to the overall size of the home, as well as the home’s entertaining value), with its asymmetrical 3-12 pitch gable roof and vaulted ceiling, appears to have been an afterthought (and definitely not inspected) with poor lighting, no ventilation, inadequate storage, and an inefficient layout, rendering it a “one bum kitchen”.

Lorin Hill, ArchitectA traditional home in the Claremont Hills of Berkeley is enlarged and fully renovated to fit the lives of a young couple and their growing family. The existing partial upper floor was fully expanded to create three additional bedrooms, a hall bath, laundry room and updated master suite, with the intention that the expanded house volume harmoniously integrates with the architectural character of the existing home. Amron ArchitecturalExpanded Mesh Ceiling panels help The Brewery Building reference the area’s local industrial past by adopting a contemporary warehouse aesthetic.
Squire & Partners completed a full redesign of The Brewery Building, a reimagining of an existing 1970s office building in Islington, London.
Amron worked directly with Squire and Partners in the design and manufacture of 4 bespoke floating expanded mesh ceiling panels in the newly renovated entrance area.
The design intent was to use industrial materials but give them a modern look and feel, this was achieved by powder coating all of the panels in a gloss black powder coat finish. When set against the exposed concrete walls and ceilings the ceilings panels help create the desired finish the designers visualised at the beginning of the project.
RB35 was the chosen expanded mesh due to its open area providing enough visibility to see the feature lights mounted to the rear of the ceiling panels.

The spacious great room addition and dining room caters to large family gatherings and a new kitchen boasts a large island with seating, significantly more counter space, and a generous pantry. The spacious new entryway off the covered porch welcomes guests and makes it much easier to shed coats and boots during the colder months. The spacious walk-in closet in the front foyer provides plentiful storage space for outerwear, hats, boots, shoes, and more. The laundry is now conveniently located adjacent to the kitchen.
Creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces, the expansive new screened porch will accommodate family and friends as they gather to enjoy the beautiful view and warm breezes off the water without the annoyance of bugs.
On the lower level, the expanded space includes a new 5th bedroom, office, storage room and mechanical room. The exterior reflects a Modern Craftsman style, integrating existing with new to create a cohesive look.
