Inspiration for a small modern u-shaped light wood floor and brown floor enclosed kitchen remodel in San Francisco with a double-bowl sink, flat-panel cabinets, medium tone wood cabinets, quartz countertops, gray backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and subway tile backsplash

A bathroom upgrade that features new tiles surrounding the tub area and new baseboard tiles, fixtures, two built-in tile shelves, and a custom subway-style glass niche in the shower. For the rest of the bathroom, faux wood plank tiles floors, a dark wooden Wyndham vanity with marble countertops and chrome faucets was installed along with two matching mirrors. This rustic gem is handcrafted from recycled copper and reclaimed wood from Mexico. The rich colors of red, brown, orange, and black in the copper are a function of the specific temperature of the fire used to heat the copper. The colors are random – each piece is truly unique as no two pieces turn out exactly alike. Copper has rarely been used in the construction of furniture in the past, but innovation and vision resulted in the creation of this original copper furniture line from Mexico. Besides being an aesthetically pleasing recycled earth-friendly material, copper is also known to be antibacterial and inhibits the growth of microbes, thus providing a measure of protection against the presence and spread of harmful germs and bacteria. A combination of new and old reclaimed pine salvaged from old buildings is used because it adds further character and uniqueness to our furniture line. Various construction methods, including free-floating wood panels, are employed to minimize the potential for cracking and warping. All drawers employ wood runners, so they do not drop when opened; and metal drawer glides are available upon request ($15 up-charge/drawer). The dark wood finish is a five-step process which involves wood stains, a dark glaze, and two coats of clear coat lacquer. This finish is much more durable, water resistant, and maintenance free compared to the light hand-rubbed wax finish. It is the most popular and most commonly specified wood finish; and it is the default finish applied to orders unless otherwise specified by the customer. Touch-ups are quick and easy using Briwax Tudor Brown color tone or darker – wipe it on and wipe it off.

Cohesively updating and modernizing this home built in the 1990s were the goal in this remodel. Several elements throughout the house like the traditional golden oak original stair railing in the main entry were too colonial for the homeowner as their taste was trending more modern. The golden oak used on trim, fireplace mantle, and baseboards trapped this home in a time warp. The original Kitchen had cabinetry with a traditional door style, painted cabinets, and laminate countertops which also caused it to look dated. The clients expressed a desire to integrate more modern elements into their home in a cost effective way without having to rip everything down to the studs. Our design/build team proposed and executed many elegant cost effective design solutions that involved changing paint, cabinetry, finishes, and fixtures to achieve the desired modern feeling throughout the home. The Kitchen was completely remodeled. The traditional cabinetry was replaced by new frameless Décor cabinets with slab doors and drawers in a beautiful exotic walnut veneer with horizontal graining and soft closing hardware. To enhance the existing structure functionally the built in desk space in the Kitchen was removed and replaced by pantry cabinetry creating improved storage and flow in the new kitchen. The new large Cherry island, also by Décor, was finished in a dark charcoal stain and topped with a solid surface Cambria quartz countertop in Kingston which features a modern mix of black, white and olive tones. For the perimeter countertops Cambria Oakhampton was selected for its complimentary sleek dark chocolate color. Innovative use of materials was demonstrated by cutting linear strips of a pre-sheeted horizontal grey glass mosaic tile, staggering it, and running it vertically instead of horizontally on the backsplash. White Kitchen appliances were traded out for a more contemporary stainless steel.

This basketball court was installed in Syosset Long Island NY by Gappsi. Starting with the location to best fit the 30 x 60 court and the swimming pool area within the already landscaped yard. The construction of the base for the court consists of 6 inches of recycled concrete base and 2 inches of compacted asphalt. It was then sealed, with a 6 x 9 masonry border around the edges. A full size adjustable hoop was also installed. Mateflex tiles modular outdoor flooring tiles were installed over the asphalt, stretched, and then secured all around the perimeter to create an expandable and contracting court floor. A combination of blue and gray colors are selected for the tiles with white striping to outline the Basketball and the pickle ball court., a complete key, a 3-point line, and a capital "S" is printed in the center of the court that stands for the owner's last name. Volleyball/pickle ball lines are also marked on the tile and the adjustable net was installed in the middle of the court. The court was installed in a section of the backyard that was not utilized by the homeowner for any other use. The basketball court fit perfectly and turned this area into a very active sports area for the whole family to enjoy. The Mateflex tiles are the best in the industry.
