This house had a graphic makeover to help the Realtor show the true potential of this house to prospective buyers. Wood siding, windows, and shutters help create curb appeal. The roof was reduced on the front addition making it look less obtrusive. Landscaping tops it off. Not tacky specimen plants or the usual landscaped plantings but simple elegant plants to help play off the architecture, not attract attention. The image was created graphically so the new homeowner can see the result and be sure what they want. They can give this to their builder to use as a guide to be sure they GET what they want. This captivating mid-century modern dining nook is located within a meticulously restored Gregory Ain home. It seamlessly integrates the dining area into the open floor plan, featuring a built-in banquette with plush cushions for comfortable seating. The round Saarinen tulip table and iconic chairs create a classic mid-century aesthetic, while the warm wood tones of the cabinetry and paneling add to the inviting ambiance. Natural light floods the space through expansive windows and clerestory windows, highlighting the vibrant geometric artwork and enhancing the overall airy and spacious feel of this iconic architectural style.

We feel this is a great example of a beautiful kitchen remodel that did not require down-to-the-studs renovation. The changes to the cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, lighting and hardware completely transformed the look of the room. It’s now a relaxing space our clients love to use and look at from other rooms.Beautiful new cabinetry made the biggest impact on updating the kitchen. The new cabinet doors and drawer fronts are flat panel with beaded Shaker style. Brass hardware and lighting adds warmth to the space. The beautiful new blue backsplash added a relaxing touch to the room. And the custom vent hood and quartzite countertops are also stunners. We were also able to keep elements that the homeowners loved, including their new refinished hardwood floors and wood wrapped kitchen island. Treating this renovation as a refacing saved our clients a lot of money. It was also more sustainable than a full remodel because refacing limited the amount of construction waste generated from the project.

The stainless steel double oven and range hood compliment the white cabinetry and metal hardware. Warm tones in the stonewood granite backsplash and island countertop add interest and depth. Cohesively updating and modernizing this home built in the 1990s were the goal in this remodel. Several elements throughout the house like the traditional golden oak original stair railing in the main entry were too colonial for the homeowner as their taste was trending more modern. The golden oak used on trim, fireplace mantle, and baseboards trapped this home in a time warp. The original Kitchen had cabinetry with a traditional door style, painted cabinets, and laminate countertops which also caused it to look dated. The clients expressed a desire to integrate more modern elements into their home in a cost effective way without having to rip everything down to the studs. Our design/build team proposed and executed many elegant cost effective design solutions that involved changing paint, cabinetry, finishes, and fixtures to achieve the desired modern feeling throughout the home. To overcome the difficult obstacle the pervasive use of old fashioned looking woodwork throughout the house we proposed using paint to avoid material waste and save the client money. The main staircase in the entry was transformed and modernized by painting it a dark bronze enamel color. Trim and baseboards were also enameled in this color to carry the modern feeling throughout the home and also creating continuity from one space to another. This solution proved green and cost effective by preserving these elements in the home which prevented unnecessary demolition waste and new material cost while enhancing the existing structure aesthetically.
