The old lawn was cut into chunks and turned over to form the base of the new berms. The pathway is being dug out and some plants have been placed to check how they will look in the new scheme.

This Hollywood Fairytail house had been lovingly restored, all but the garden! We demolished everything in the front garden and designed a new gracious porch with a checkerboard design in concrete tiles, new low water landscaping with drip irrigation and meandering paths of flagstone, a recirculating fountain and rain garden. Added fruit trees, native and climate appropriate plants and a walkable low water Ruschia area for kids and dogs.

This garden had great bones - it just needed some space planning and a little TLC. Considering the size - large!) there was hardly any seating or area to gather. We removed an old and not very attractive rose garden to create a new decomposed granite seating area with a custom fire pit and some olive trees. The rest of the garden got a major landscape re-do, with low water plants, lawn area replaced with Kurapia, drip irrigation and LED landscape lighting. The clients are delighted with the new space and what with the lighting and fire pit, can really enjoy this gorgeous garden!

Black Locust trees dominate the front yard and allow a dappled sunlight, just enough to allow successful growth of sun loving plants. Full sun in winter & spring. Coneflowers, Monarda, daylilies, Spiderwort, Catnip. Liriope lines the public sidewalk - grows dense to hold water in the beds & off sidewalk - plus it tolerates dog urine and road salt.
