Carmichael Ave: Custom Modern Home Build We’re excited to finally share pictures of one of our favourite customer’s project. The Rahimi brothers came into our showroom and consulted with Jodi for their custom home build. At Castle Kitchens, we are able to help all customers including builders with meeting their budget and providing them with great designs for their end customer. We worked closely with the builder duo by looking after their project from design to installation. The final outcome was a design that ensured the best layout, balance, proportion, symmetry, designed to suit the style of the property. Our kitchen design team was a great resource for our customers with regard to mechanical and electrical input, colours, appliance selection, accessory suggestions, etc. We provide overall design services! The project features walnut accents all throughout the house that help add warmth into a modern space allowing it be welcoming. Castle Kitchens was ultimately able to provide great design at great value to allow for a great return on the builders project. Looking to create style and function in their living room that accommodated their young children, these clients wanted to leave behind furnishings pieced together from previous homes and start over with items that fit their new house and current lifestyle. As they have an eat in kitchen, we chose to transform the rarely used formal dining room into a family room. This allowed us to create a welcoming and comfortable area in the former living room that has enough floor space for active kids, storage for books and games, and comfortable seating for all. For this client we created an inspiration board for each room, along with floor plans. Once the furnishings arrived we worked with them to style the space using existing and new accessories.

The new furniture layout gives the space a balanced and welcoming feel. Upholstering both the new couch and the old one in a solid fabric removed the 'fight' the patterned fabric was having with the patterned rug.

Infusing this once, drab 80’s kitchen with light and color was one goal in this extensive remodel. By removing the wall separating the dining room from the kitchen, the space doubled in size and allowed natural light to flood it. Creating a design that filled the space yet remained very functional to the homeowner was extremely important. By implementing the two working triangles, one homeowner can be using the sink, cooktop and refrigerator while the other uses the secondary island for food prep as it has an additional sink. A large soffit housing HVAC runs through the middle of the townhome and seemed intrusive to the space at first. After embracing it in the design, it’s as if it were meant to be. Three aluminum framed cabinets hang below, one directly underneath the soffit to create an asymmetrical design. On a budget but still wanting a beautiful design, Crystal’s semi-custom line of cabinetry came into play. Simply White and Light Grey provide the perfect backdrop for natural maple, brushed gold hardware and accessories that infuse the space with color. Our team renovated and completely furnished our client’s Tualatin home three years ago and when they planned a move to a much larger home in Lake Oswego, they included ATIID in a major renovation, new addition and furnishings. We first determined the best way to incorporate the furniture we’d recently sourced for every room in their current home, then upgrade new formal and entertaining spaces big time with color and style! In the living room, we looked to custom furnishings, natural textures and a splash of fresh green to create the ultimate family gathering space. Hand painted wallpaper inspired our formal dining room, where bold blue and mixed metals meet warm wood tones and an awe-inspiring chandelier. Wallpaper also added interest in the powder bath, master and guest bedrooms. The most significant change to the home was the addition of the “Play Room,” outdoor living room and swimming pool for decidedly grown-up entertaining.
