This Gold-LEED home, selected for Domus Best Houses award and nominated for Frame House of the Year Award, it is called Cocoon because its round walls form a Cocoon shape towards northern and western neighbors. This rounded enclosed half of the house provides shelter and privacy. The other glass side of the house, facing south, takes in ocean breezes and open views. The cedar shingle cladding blends in with the historic neighborhood and benefits from local craft traditions. By tuning in to given site conditions, and with the help of environmental technologies such as photovoltaic panels and reflecting rainwater cistern, architectural design serves both the environment and wellbeing.

Beechwood sits on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Oxfordshire. Employing high-quality materials, simple detailing and robust forms, the design produced a contemporary and sustainable home appropriate to its context.
The materials used in the project push conventional design boundaries but sit together harmoniously in the woodland setting. Blue/black engineering brickwork combine with pre-weathered Corten steel cladding, enabling the house to bleed into the landscape.
Implementing energy saving solutions was integral to the success of this project and was a key part of the client brief. The design followed best practice in nine categories of sustainable design: energy and CO2 emissions, water, materials, surface water run-off, waste, pollution, health and wellbeing, management and ecology. Beechwood achieved a Level 4 certificate under The Code for Sustainable Homes.

This exterior renovation aimed to revitalize a charming 1960s Southern colonial-style brick home while preserving its timeless appeal. The skilled design team at Revolve embraced the client's vision of a "Transitional Contemporary" style, skillfully blending classic and modern elements to create a truly unique outcome.
Revolve updated the home’s curved features, such as the classical columns and rounded bay windows, to achieve this beautiful transformation. They incorporated sleek lines and contemporary materials that exude sophistication. The removal of shutters and the enlargement of existing windows with modern frames and thermal glass enhanced the home’s visual appeal, increased interior natural light, and improved energy efficiency, contributing to the overall well-being of the homeowners. Gone are the days of painted-shut windows; the new windows now open smoothly, bringing a refreshing change!
In keeping with the original design of the house, Revolve maintained the existing second-floor porch along the front, eliminating the picket railing and traditional molding. These elements were replaced with square columns and a minimalist custom horizontal metal railing system. Additionally, the team thoughtfully enhanced the continuous masonry façade by removing sections of brick and replacing them with a contemporary wood rainscreen. This adjustment added depth to what was previously a flat elevation and tied together areas of the house that were re-clad from vinyl siding to wood plank. The design team also redefined the geometry of the multiple rooflines and third-floor dormers to create a cohesive overall design. Carefully selected paint and stain colors added warmth and dimension to the updated exterior.
Modern elements were introduced into the outdoor space, resulting in a cozy outdoor living area complete with a gas-powered fireplace and a large-screen TV—perfect for enjoying Ravens games with friends and family.

Entering this contemporary Nordic haven, you're instantly captivated by the effortless fusion of interior and exterior spaces. Expansive glass panels slide open, bathing the understated, welcoming interior in natural illumination, visible from the alluring outdoor area. The patio's focal point is the elegant stone floor, complemented by inviting loungers and rustic wooden benches and a fire pit, creating an ideal setting for intimate gatherings beneath twinkling overhead lights. This architectural gem artfully marries Scandinavian minimalism with the quintessential Californian indoor-outdoor ethos, showcasing crisp contours, organic textures, and subdued tones. The outcome is a serene sanctuary that exemplifies hygge - the Nordic philosophy of comfort and well-being - while celebrating its picturesque natural environment.

This glam eclectic office design masterfully blends elegance with vibrant charm, creating an inspiring and functional workspace. Central to this design is the standing desk, which is paired with an upholstered office chair featuring a sophisticated brass base. Strategically positioned along the window wall, this setup not only ensures an abundance of natural light but also offers a refreshing view of the outside, promoting productivity and well-being. Adding to the room's allure is a luxurious floral chair nestled in a cozy corner, forming an inviting reading nook. This charming spot is complemented by a stylish side table and a pleated floor lamp, providing the perfect ambiance for leisurely breaks. On the opposite wall, a fluted credenza with discreet doors offers ample storage with its adjustable shelving. Above it, a striking black plant wall art piece, along with carefully chosen decor, creates a captivating backdrop for video calls, enhancing the room's visual appeal. A large brass antique floor mirror adds a touch of timeless charm, reflecting the room's eclectic beauty. Resembling a blooming spring garden, a vibrant rug ties the entire design together, infusing the space with energy and elegance. This office design not only boasts practicality but also exudes a glamorous, eclectic vibe that makes working a delightful experience.

Envisioned as an intimate resort, in the city of Coconut Grove, Florida this home exemplifies the perfect blend of innovative design, environmental responsibility, and holistic well-being.

Compare Tub to a cloud of down or a foamy mug of beer.
Jens Juul Eilersen has created a gigantic "sofa bathtub", which is an orgy of soft foam, down and pillows. Tub is the coolest and softest sofa yet in the Eilersen universe of floaters. And the contrast between the slim, tight outer shell and the interior heaven of foam and down creates dynamism in the language of form.
Like sitting on a soft bed.
"My goal was to create a well-being sofa where you can sit as if on a soft bed. And I succeeded! I actually fell asleep the first time I leaned back into the prototype, which was the deepest version," tells Jens Juul Eilersen. "When I woke up, I could certainly see that I had to develop a variation of the model in which people could stay awake". This resulted in a further 2 different depths where you sit more upright but still comfortably. Compared to Eilersen's other floater, Tub differentiates itself by the frame. Tub does not have a heavy frame, which is part of the comfort. But on the other hand a thin shell, which keeps the large, soft pillows in place. Externally, the lines are straight and tight and internally, the upholstery and pillows result in organic lines.
"The entire sitting comfort in Tub lies in the foam, which seems softer due to the large depth. This provides a feeling of elevation and larger submersion than in any of our other sofas. It is actually just like sitting in a large mug of foaming beer or on a cloud of down" says Jens Juul Eilersen who promises that even though Tub is soft, inviting and provoking, it cannot become flat. Tub is available in three depths and the series contains corner, end and centre sections, which can be combined as desired.

The design plays off of the many different elements of water, represented through the color palette, textiles, fixtures, artwork and even in the ceiling detail. Using cool colors to evoke a sense of calm and well-being, Dominique strived to create a tranquil environment where families can seek refuge from the harshness of reality.
The room design emphasizes the use of natural light with minimalistic, clean-lines to elicit an uplifting and soothing environmental feel. The intent was to keep the design sophisticated and refined, while tastefully incorporating fun and whimsical elements throughout; making this safe haven, a ‘home-away-from-home’ for each family that the Ronald McDonald House serves.

This living room and dining room interior design was an open space project for a couple with two children. The main objective was to transform this room, which was previously dark and heavy environment, into a bright, light and pleasant space that conveys peace and well-being. Furthermore, it was very important to be able to combine the elegance of the contemporary and refined style that the client wanted and at the same time guarantee maximum comfort to this family space. This objective was very well achieved, either by the choice of light tones in the living room, with soft touches of color, especially in the dining table area, or by the presence of the natural element through various plants. Comfort was guaranteed with a wonderful sofa, of great quality, designed and produced by Casas Com Design. The rug and curtains also added comfort and luminosity to the environment, due to the light tones and fabrics used. As a complement to the sofa, the puff serves as a support, either for feet, for sitting, or in this case, with the tray on top, it serves as a drawing table for children.

Dwellist had the honor of collaborating with Shaafi, a Netherlands resident, to bring his vision to life – the construction of his dream house in the idyllic town of Uthamapalyam, near Theni. With a deep-rooted passion for creating a haven that would cater to his aging parents' needs, as well as provide a rental unit and ample space for his own family and his brother. Shaafi entrusted our skilled team to design a residence that would surpass all expectations.
Shaafi's utmost concern was the well-being and mobility of his parents within the house. Our team prioritized their needs by incorporating thoughtful features for convenience and accessibility. The design also called for a spacious 3 BHK unit to accommodate both Shaafi's and his brother's families. Considering Shaafi's occasional visits to Uthamapalyam (2 to 3 months per year), we also addressed his desire for rental units on the first floor.
The primary focus of our team was on creating a ground-floor residence that prioritized accessibility for elderly. We incorporated barrier-free pathways, spacious doorways, and various amenities to enhance their comfort. Additionally, we designed a rental unit on the first floor, ensuring privacy and independence for tenants while promoting harmonious coexistence with the main residents. The unit was meticulously planned to ensure essential amenities, optimal functionality, and a focus on aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. Natural lighting, efficient ventilation systems, and energy-saving features were integrated to enhance the living experience while minimizing environmental impact.
We are proud to have worked closely with Shaafi in creating a home that reflects his values and aspirations. Please feel free to contact Dwellist for further details about the project.
