Coming from Minnesota this couple already had an appreciation for a woodland retreat. Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains.

Another benefit of bathroom stained glass is its versatility. Curtains, blinds, and other window coverings come in premade designs. But stained glass is a custom window treatment. It can be created with any color, style, texture, or appearance. And because it is a custom renovation, stained glass adds buyer appeal, competitive edge, and value to your home.
Some people are concerned about the functioning capabilities of stained glass windows. They like appearance of stained glass, but they still want to be able to open their windows. But the reality is that stained glass can just as easily be created for sliding windows as you can see here.
If you’re looking to add privacy to your bathroom and also want to enhance its aesthetic appearance, then stained glass could offer the perfect solution. Or if there’s another area of your home that you’re considering remodeling, you could add stained glass to this area as well. Scottish Stained Glass makes beautiful custom windows for home entryways, bathrooms, kitchens, basements, hallways, and more.

Open-plan kitchen and dining of a new construction single-level home in Orinda, CA, designed by CB Architecture + Design and featured in Dwell Magazine. Flat-front slate blue upper cabinets run the full length of the kitchen wall, framed by warm walnut lower cabinets and a matching full-height walnut appliance tower housing integrated stainless steel refrigerator, double oven, and open shelving; a mid-century inspired material palette executed with contemporary precision. White quartz countertops and a simple white tile backsplash keep the composition clean between the two dominant materials. Blue kitchen island with white quartz countertop features an integrated sink with a professional-grade pull-down faucet, extending into a cantilevered butcher block dining table with slatted walnut base detail, seamlessly connecting kitchen and dining in a single furniture-like piece. Four black molded shell dining chairs with oak legs surround the dining extension. Two oversized white globe pendant lights drop from the double-height white ceiling above. Charcoal polished concrete radiant slab floors extend throughout the open plan. Black-framed sliding glass doors to the left open to the outdoor courtyard. Clerestory black-framed windows admit natural light at the upper wall level to the right.

This contemporary farmhouse is located on a scenic acreage in Greendale, BC. It features an open floor plan with room for hosting a large crowd, a large kitchen with double wall ovens, tons of counter space, a custom range hood and was designed to maximize natural light. Shed dormers with windows up high flood the living areas with daylight. The stairwells feature more windows to give them an open, airy feel, and custom black iron railings designed and crafted by a talented local blacksmith. The home is very energy efficient, featuring R32 ICF construction throughout, R60 spray foam in the roof, window coatings that minimize solar heat gain, an HRV system to ensure good air quality, and LED lighting throughout. A large covered patio with a wood burning fireplace provides warmth and shelter in the shoulder seasons.
