What was once a tool box now hangs on the wall to house various necklaces. Even with such rugged origins, the display has a decidedly feminine appeal. "My girlfriend had come across these old tool boxes at an estate sale. The person that owned them painted the tools that hung on each hook, so it makes for a great story," says Jennifer. Siri Blanchette/Blind Dog Photo Associates This living room designed by Marcye Philbrook is textural, soothing, comfortable and contemporary. The cable rail "holding" up the shelves, concrete mantel in a sandy tone, floating shelves in a very textural laminate, modern fireplace with driftwood inside as well as the warm beiges and cool grays playing off of each other remind one of the natural Maine shore.

An important architectural statement must be filled with moments of equal yet subtle majesty. In a house defined by angularity, we brought the symphony of lines inside by creating an experience of form and texture attune to the vista visible from every angle.
