Soft blue color palette, reminiscence of the snow just outside the window. The blue provides a nice contrast to the rest of the home. Wood-clad walls were unchanged by the design team. We love the rustic, natural element that is original to the home. The wood walls throughout the home add so much character – they’re great. Custom built-in bunks were designed by the LU design team. Welcome to the essential refined mountain rustic home: warm, homey, and sturdy. The house’s structure is genuine heavy timber framing, skillfully constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. Distressed beams and posts have been reclaimed from old American barns to enjoy a second life as they define varied, inviting spaces. Traditional carpentry is at its best in the great room’s exquisitely crafted wood trusses. Rugged Lodge is a retreat that’s hard to return from.

We were delighted to find out a previous client of ours was expecting another baby! We were tasked to design a nursery that was calming, masculine and playful. We incorporated a curated gallery wall, ceiling mural and LED baby name sign that cannot be forgotten! Within this small space, we had to include a crib, rocking chair, changing table and daybed. We were focused on making it functional for not only the baby but also for the parents. The fur rug is not only extremely comfortable, but also machine washable - that's a win-win! The layered jute rug underneath creates visual interest and texture. The striped ottoman, black daybed and leather drawer pulls bring the masculinity to the room. We had a custom LED baby name sign made for over the crib, which can be dimmed to any brightness and is safe for children (unlike neon). Baby Andres was born on May 11th. 2020.

This water closet features a stunning textured tile wall and stone tiles halfway up the others, and a three paneled wood door. Also, has a tiled floor and painted upper walls.

The wainscoting is made from reclaimed white barn board. For this special job, no wood was joined, every edge was eased to look worn with a wavering block plane. Knots, bullet holes, gouges, old paint, saw marks and every other imperfection were embraced and showcased for the story they represented. Nothing looks new. The ceiling is treated with tongue and grooved, beveled cedar planks. There is nothing more incongruous than when a room is rustic but the sheetrock walls are left smooth - especially when the wall are left white. Bedroom - eclectic brown floor bedroom idea in Dallas with multicolored walls

For this primary bedroom redesign, the client envisioned a retreat that would provide a sense of escape and tranquility. The room was designed with a moody atmosphere, blending deep, rich colors that envelop the space in a cocoon of comfort. Color drenching was used on the walls, creating a seamless flow of hues that added depth and warmth. A stunning mural wallpaper became a focal point, its intricate design bringing an artistic, yet serene element to the room. To elevate the ambiance, a statement light fixture was carefully selected, adding a touch of luxury and drawing attention upward. Every element was thoughtfully curated to transform the space into a peaceful sanctuary, offering both beauty and relaxation in equal measure.

It was a mutual love of Italy, specifically the Tuscan countryside, that inspired renowned architect Mark Scheurer and his wife, Jane, to build their dream home in a simplistic, but elegant style reminiscent of a centuries old Italian farmhouse. Scheurer’s aim was to bring light, air, and an indoor/outdoor feeling into the home while preserving privacy throughout this rustic Southern California home, all of which was achieved a lot in part due to the implementation of Eldorado Stone. The use of stone was a predominant element throughout the design. Scheurer used 2,800 square feet of a custom blend of Eldorado’s Veneto Fieldledge and Hillstone profiles, both of which were applied with an overgrout technique, creating a sense of ageless authenticity and textural beauty. Another 500 square feet was used in the interior to create a dramatic focal point of exposed stone in the living room and boast large, arching windows that open up the living room and filter in light. Upstairs, the master bedroom continues the home’s rustic Italian design with exposed stone walls that reach to the beamed ceiling above. Although Scheurer is in a neighborhood that request for real products to be used in home construction, he had no problem obtaining approval to use Eldorado Stone, which speaks volumes about Eldorado’s beauty and believability. No one doubted the authenticity of the product. In fact, Scheurer believes that Eldorado is even better than natural stone in that the color palette is easily controlled as well as consistent. My clients had outgrown their builder’s basic home and had plenty of room to expand on their 10 acres. Working with a local architect and a talented contractor, we designed an addition to create 3 new bedrooms, a bathroom scaled for all 3 girls, a playroom and a master retreat including 3 fireplaces, sauna, steam shower, office or “creative room”, and large bedroom with folding glass wall to capitalize on their view. The master suite, gym, pool and tennis courts are still under construction, but the girls’ suite and living room space are complete and dust free. Each child’s room was designed around their preference of color scheme and each girl has a unique feature that makes their room truly their own. The oldest daughter has a secret passage hidden behind what looks like built in cabinetry. The youngest daughter wanted to “swing”, so we outfitted her with a hanging bed set in front of a custom mural created by a Spanish artist. The middle daughter is an elite gymnast, so we added monkey bars so she can cruise her room in style. The girls’ bathroom suite has 3 identical “stations” with abundant storage. Cabinetry in black walnut and peacock blue and white quartz counters with white marble backsplash are durable and beautiful. Two shower stalls, designed with a colorful and intricate tile design, prevent bathroom wait times and a custom wall mural brings a little of the outdoors in. Two adjacent warehouse units in a circa 1915 building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, were combined into a single modern live / work space. Careful consideration was paid to honoring and preserving original elements like exposed brick walls, timber beams and columns, hardwood and concrete floors and plaster walls.
