Since the kitchen is so open to the rest of the house we chose to keep it light and bright to tie in with everything else. We went with white inset cabinetry and quartz counters with a 2'' edge profile. There are two sets of drawer dishwashers, 36" DCS range, DCS oven and microwave and Fisher and Paykel fridge. We chose to put cabinet panels on the dishwashers and fridge in order to keep them concealed. The floating shelves are made out of local reclaimed wood.

This 3,500 SF home was inspired by the 100 year old collage that formally occupied the site. The owners wanted the house to reflect the intimate cottage feel while also allowing for prime lake views. Interior finishes and furniture were selected to blend with the exterior and fit into the client's desire for simple Adirondack- themed aesthetic.

This bathroom features beautiful custom cabinetry from the line Schrock. Adding a raised drawer base in the center of a double sink vanity helps add storage and convenience. This vanity setup even features a custom makeup area complete with a lowered desk drawer to fit a small stool underneath. All of your morning routine needs can be met with a custom layout!

Light pours into the kitchen from a trio of clerestory windows and a pair of backless, glass-fronted cabinets hung in front of exterior windows. A hidden pantry is accessed to the left of the Miele double ovens from Monark Premium Appliances. A quartet of Fine Art Lamps’ metal-framed pendants hangs from artisan square-link chains, spilling light from mica shades onto the dual islands topped with Cristallo quartzite. Swivel stools from Century in an aqua and white zebra print provide seating at the dining island. Wood-Mode custom maple cabinets in Vintage Nordic White line the walls. The range hood and island bases are Wood-Mode Heirloom Harbor Mist with Pewter Glaze, all from Tradewind Designs. The 3-by-12-inch stone backsplash brings in the colors of the cabinets and islands. A tile inset commands attention behind the Miele 5-burner gas cooktop also from Monark Premium Appliances.

The couple has a lifelong love of Arts and Crafts and Modernism, and are the co-founders of PrairieMod, an online retailer that offers timeless modern lifestyle through American made, handcrafted, and exclusively designed products. So, having such a design savvy client was super exciting for us, especially since the couple had many unique pieces of pottery and furniture to provide inspiration for the design. The condo is a large, sunny top floor unit, with a large open feel. The existing kitchen was a peninsula which housed the sink, and they wanted to change that out to an island, relocating the new sink there as well. This can sometimes be tricky with all the plumbing for the building potentially running up through one stack. After consulting with our contractor team, it was determined that our plan would likely work and after confirmation at demo, we pushed on. The new kitchen is a simple L-shaped space, featuring several storage devices for trash, trays dividers and roll out shelving. To keep the budget in check, we used semi-custom cabinetry, but added custom details including a shiplap hood with white oak detail that plays off the oak “X” endcaps at the island, as well as some of the couple’s existing white oak furniture. We also mixed metals with gold hardware and plumbing and matte black lighting that plays well with the unique black herringbone backsplash and metal barstools. New weathered oak flooring throughout the unit provides a nice soft backdrop for all the updates. We wanted to take the cabinets to the ceiling to obtain as much storage as possible, but an angled soffit on two of the walls provided a bit of a challenge. We asked our carpenter to field modify a few of the wall cabinets where necessary and now the space is truly custom. Part of the project also included a new fireplace design including a custom mantle that houses a built-in sound bar and a Panasonic Frame TV, that doubles as hanging artwork when not in use. The TV is mounted flush to the wall, and there are different finishes for the frame available. The TV can display works of art or family photos while not in use. We repeated the black herringbone tile for the fireplace surround here and installed bookshelves on either side for storage and media components. Set in Montana's tranquil Shields River Valley, the Shilo Ranch Compound is a collection of structures that were specifically built on a relatively smaller scale, to maximize efficiency. The main house has two bedrooms, a living area, dining and kitchen, bath and adjacent greenhouse, while two guest homes within the compound can sleep a total of 12 friends and family. There's also a common gathering hall, for dinners, games, and time together. The overall feel here is of sophisticated simplicity, with plaster walls, concrete and wood floors, and weathered boards for exteriors. The placement of each building was considered closely when envisioning how people would move through the property, based on anticipated needs and interests. Sustainability and consumption was also taken into consideration, as evidenced by the photovoltaic panels on roof of the garage, and the capability to shut down any of the compound's buildings when not in use.

Mediterranean beige two-story stone exterior home idea in Dallas with a tile roof

The kitchen is much more functional with a long stretch of counter space and open shelving making better use of the limited space. Most of the cabinets are the same width and are flat panel to help the kitchen feel more open and modern. The size and shape of the Ohio-made glazed hand mold tile nods to the mid-century brick fireplace wall in the living space.

The mud room in this Bloomfield Hills residence was a part of a whole house renovation and addition, completed in 2016. Directly adjacent to the indoor gym, outdoor pool, and motor court, this room had to serve a variety of functions. The tile floor in the mud room is in a herringbone pattern with a tile border that extends the length of the hallway. Two sliding doors conceal a utility room that features cabinet storage of the children's backpacks, supplies, coats, and shoes. The room also has a stackable washer/dryer and sink to clean off items after using the gym, pool, or from outside. Arched French doors along the motor court wall allow natural light to fill the space and help the hallway feel more open.
