This is a pool we built in Frankfort, IL. This pool is a 22 x 37 Mountain Lake with Steel walls and a vinyl liner. This pool also features a Grey Granite Thermoplastic stair as well as a Grey Granite Spillover Spa. The pool surround and muitlevel patio is done with Belguard Pavers. The custom Bar area has a Wooden Chevrolet Emblem built in it. The bar is topped with Granite and covered with a Redwood Cedar Pergola. Photos By Jim Eiler

“When you work with great design/build teams, you can create amazing portable hot tub installations,” says Bill Renter. “These clients wanted a spillover spa that they could use all year through. Working with The Deck and Patio Company, we set a portable Bullfrog Spa halfway into the ground. A moss rock waterfall coming out from the pool’s edge just beneath it spills into the pool but appears to be coming from the hot tub.” Note: Even though it’s partially in-ground, the team left sufficient access for ease in getting to the spa plumbing. www.besthottubs.com

The clients were looking for a modern, or traditional look, with expansive patios and an attached spillover spa to the pool, which was achieved. The main challenges for this project involved designing and measuring a perfectly-fitted vinyl liner for a pool with five bar stools, a complicated tri-level floor, three staircases, in-floor cleaning, vinyl spillover spa and vinyl-lined catch pool -- all of which are designed to last 25 years or more.

Inspiration for a large 1950s backyard stone and rectangular full sun and lap pool fountain remodel for summer in Toronto

This suburban Toronto family had a small backyard which they outfitted for recreation and entertaining. The focal point is a symmetrical cloverleaf plunge pool which has a uniform depth of six feet. There are entry steps with underwater benches on each side with a spillover spa at one end and a Badu swimjet at the other. (16 x 16 custom rectangular)

What a beautiful way to utilize a small Toronto yard. This custom pool has a lot of features despite its size. In the deep end there's a rock feature and waterfall which helps to mask street noise, while directly beneath a Badu swim jet facilitates lap swimming. In the shallow end a spillover spa features convenient Jandy controls on the deck. The pool's light gray Armorcoat interior softly contrasts with the surrounding Wiarton flagstone coping and deck. Near the house a cedar deck and cabana add the final touches, with room left for a custom dog run featuring pea gravel digging holes. (13 x 29, custom free form)
