The upstairs hallway is very wide as well as dark so adding color was key to making it welcoming. The two prints are by an up and coming artist and are complimented by colorful pottery. The console table anchors the space. On the opposite wall a leftover TV stand creates a platform for a succulent bed and colorful, blown glass. This remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs. The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. The dewy hues in this palette create a truly sea-inspired bathroom. Striated Ann Sacks Asher Grey tile and wood floors add warmth to the cool-toned Benjamin Moore's Wickham Gray HC-171 walls. Thunder Grey fixtures anchor the room and complement the vanity painted with Benajmin Moore's City Shadow CSP-60. The beautifully textured rippled glass sinks in Dusk paired with clean-lined faucets in Vibrant Brushed Nickel and the crowning jewels in this undeniably serene bathroom.
