The spacious and bright room has a rubber floor. 40 tires were upcycled to create this sustainable and durable flooring. A wall of mirrors amplifies the natural light from the windows and door to the outside.

Spruce, LLCThis guest bathroom has white marble tile in the shower and small herringbone mosaic on the floor. The shower tile is taken all the way to the ceiling to emphasize height and create a larger volume in an otherwise small space.
large 12 x24 marble tiles were cut down in three widths, to create a pleasing rhythm and pattern. The sink cabinet also has a marble top.

Studio Good ArchitectsA block from the beach in the quaint seaside village of Neskowin, our clients wanted a home that was comfortable when they were alone or with family and friends. They also wanted to integrate salvaged Douglas-fir lumber from a deconstructed 1938 warehouse. Influenced by the reclaimed wood and our mutual appreciation of old wood buildings, barns, and historic lodges, the project used the recycled lumber throughout for columns and beams, roof framing, flooring, cabinetry, wall paneling, interior trim, doors and furniture.
At the same time, we designed the home to endure the harsh environment of the Oregon coast. As a LEED™ Gold home, the building envelope is both durable and well insulated. The mechanical systems, which include radiant-heat flooring and an ultra-efficient Heat Recovery Ventilator, make this home comfortable and healthy regardless of the weather. With its lodge-like simplicity and unique design details, this home is a joyful blend of old and new.
The design of the home and the energy efficient features caught the attention of several publications, including Fine Homebuilding, who featured it in their August/September 2011 issue.

On Friday afternoon, The Roots backstage room had white walls and gray floors and ceilings. By Monday, we wanted to surprise them with their own (stocked) Brooklyn bar. New brick walls were added and tagged with Nina Simone, vintage mint booths, a live-edge table top, custom light fixtures, and details create a chill spot. Antler bottle openers, Moroccan rugs, hat holders to display Tariq’s collection, vintage bar-ware and shakers... The collected parts are all as authentic as The Roots.
“I wanted to give the Roots a real spot to feel good and hang in, not just a place to change. The bottle cap tramp art and history / cultural references of the collected items in this room were a tribute to the smart timelessness of the band… and of course we made sure that the bar was fully stocked…” - Kyla

"Its all for the love of junk!" exclaims Jennifer, about the free-spirited way of decorating the home's wrap-around porch. "Because it is all outside I won't spend a lot of money on any of it; I find cheap old junk in the trash or garage sales with cute colors or patterns and make it happen."
Inspired by the colors from the garden, various items are recovered or painted in pastel hues to create a comfortable and engaging place to relax.
"Raymond and I love our outdoor wrap-around porch in the summer. Because I decorate it like a house outdoors it creates the comfort of a southern home with surrounding gardens that are bursting with color and nature and fresh smells everyday. You can't help but want to sit and drink your coffee there in the morning and soak it all in. You smell the Lake Erie breeze and hear the waves crashing; its so serene."
