I highly recommend everyone at AAHA studios but especially Harper, Sonja, and Jesse. We converted our garage into livable space and from start to finish they listened to our ideas, provided insight as to the practicality of our ideas, and delivered beautiful renderings and interior design packages for our house. Our contractor even noted that he has never seen such great thorough renderings, which saved us time and money on the construction side. Through the whole process, Harper and her team stayed active and focused on our project and continued to advocate for us until the absolute final day. They cared about the final product just as much as we did. Jesse was given a broad idea for our interior design and delivered a perfect design to complement the existing house while making some overall design changes we wanted. The team was always patient and happy to explain their thought process. Harper and her team were fantastic to work with. They helped us design and build our dream family home, essentially from the ground up. AAHA Studio was great to work with and Harper is personable and knowledgable about architecture and design. I also liked working with her direct staff of other architects who were great as well. They had all the equipment to produce 3D drawings which was what I was interested in and were able to answer any questions I had along the way. I worked with AAHA Studio on a new build on a tricky lot and I can’t recommend them more. The lot we were designing for had a lot of challenges, partially flat and partially slopped with a limited amount of street frontage and I needed to design something that was not only design forward but also with a home that allowed for as much square footage as we’d be allowed to build, AAHA took on the challenge and Im I love with what the did. The process of working with them was also incredibly user friendly and collaborative. I’ve work with other architects that design what they feel like but want minimal client interaction working with Harper and they team at AAHA couldn’t have been more different then previous experiences I’ve had. Great design, incredible knowledge of city code and easy to work with, I could not have really asked for more.

AAHA designed our "dream home" future vision for our home and then helped us to divide up the plan in manageable sections so we know how to achieve it. They coordinated with other professionals to finalize the plans for our first major project all the way through to getting the permits approved. Becky is amazing to work with and she made sure her design matched our vision. Harper is great at explaining the reality of home improvement and making sure the scope of work matched the reality of what we could accomplish.

We had never used an architect before, but this company came highly recommended by a family member who worked with them on a remodel. Harper, Aaron, and Rebecca are great to work with. Our communication with each other has been great. I really feel like they work to understand what we want out of the project. We had some outside of the box ideas. They helped out with a lot of minor things we hadn't considered and helped to set our expectations on some of the items that wouldn't work in the way we were thinking. Their idea for the bathroom configuration is way better than anything I had imagined. They have done practically all the work with the engineer and permits are currently helping us to work with the contractors. I feel like if we had tried to do this project without them, it would have ended up to be something much less than what we wanted or expected. I have recommended them to my mom and in-laws.

We had the pleasure of working with the team at AAHA Studio two times; once for a remodel and a second time for a design and build of our new custom home. Everyone at AAHA is creative, very communicative, collaborative, highly-disciplined and in general very good at what they do. This was our first time designing and building a new home and Aaron, Harper and the team led us through the project with great enthusiasm, patience and care. In addition to designing the house from the ground up (from architecture to materials), they worked tirelessly to get our plans approved through our city (Redondo Beach) even though it was during the early days of Covid. Lastly, they interacted constantly with our home builder to ensure that the home was built to the exact specifications that we had developed. We have been living in our home now for five months and are very happy. The design aesthetic of our home is very appealing and we get compliments on it all the time, while the layout AHAA created is comfortable, clean and easy to live in. We are happy we chose Aaron, Harper and team and highly recommend AHAA Studio.

I’ve worked with AAHA Studio (Harper, Aaron, and Lara) on 3 separate projects in a fairly short period. They are PROS and are excellent to work with. I am a developer and a general contractor. I work with a lot of architects and architecture firms. My experience with them as been as a GC. I think their architecture and design are beautiful, their plans are extremely thorough, and they are always responsive to questions or concerns. My experience is their clients love working with them and that they are very good team builders. Those are very good signs of a successful project.

Harper Halprin has been a great Architect throughout the project. She is very sharp. She will explain you in details all the options. She always found solutions when things did not seem right in various construction phases. You are assured that a very knowledgable and intelligent person is on your side. Her company is bit expensive, but worth it if you want everything precise and modern.

We worked together with the Team at AAHA Studio on a New, Modern style, Ground Up, Residential in Culver City. Imbuia construction inc. acted as General Contractor. We had a very successful outcome and the 3000+ sq ft home is now being enjoyed by a family of 5. What a terrifying endeavor to unload your entire savings into rebuilding your home. This why the first people you hire to kickstart your project is a critical decision, to say the least. When we interviewed 4 separate architects, we landed on AAHA Studio because they appeared trustworthy and genuine. Frankly, the most endearing attribute that made them stand out during our consideration of architects was that they were not snobby. Possessing an aptitude to design and create construction documents to build a house is essential, but more importantly we wanted someone that would be on our side and not sneer us into decisions along the way. A project like ours is a 2+ year commitment from concept to plans to construction and punch list. You have to like who you're working with, and we are glad we picked AAHA Studio. Aaron and Harper were trusted partners from start to finish. They fully listened to everything we wanted, examined what we described as our lifestyle with three young kids (two kids when we started), and probed to uncover what our aspirational style was. Through multiple conference calls, accompanied showroom visits, weekly construction site meetings, special subcontractor introductions (that yielded great results), and problem solving sessions, we can honestly say that we enjoyed working with this husband and wife duo and their extended team. We were confident that throughout this entire process, they had our backs. Aaron and Harper are organized, GREAT emailers (which is a rarity in the builder/designer community), and understand that while they went to school for that degree in architecture, sound communication is the key to a successful project. And as a result, we have a unique, custom, and beautiful home. And an intact relationship after project completion. I have worked with Aaron and Harper on several projects. They are always very responsive and professional. Their designs are beautiful yet functional.

HH Design took my funky, small floor plan and turned it into a beautiful, functional, open floor plan. It was exactly what we needed and wanted. People are amazed at how our house feels so much bigger without added much square footage.

Harper is not only a total pro, but she really cares about her clients. We did a pretty intense renovation of our duplex in West Adams and she went the extra mile for us many different times. She's creative, empathetic, patient, was consistent with communication and checking-in, and has great attention to detail. I wouldn't hesitate to work with her, or recommend her to a friend for future work. She also has good taste in wine, which is always a plus.

I worked with HH Design on a complete "down to the studs" remodel of a 3 bed, 2 bath home including front and back outdoor entertainment areas. This was a complex, multi-faceted project that involved transforming a 1940's bungalow into a contemporary, open-concept retreat with vaulted ceilings, a custom kitchen and the addition of a second bath. Harper and the HH Design team fair exceeded my expectations at every stage of this project including initial design concepts, preparation of finely detailed drawings, leading the bidding process and championing management of the project right through completion, all with an eye towards the timeline and set budget parameters. We worked with HH Design on a new home build. We were all very impressed initially with the detail in the drawings. We review many drawing sets and have mixed reviews. My husband and I own a four unit apartment building in the Beverlywood area of Los Angeles that was constructed in the '40's.
