Juan and his team did an excellent job replacing a section of my granite retaining wall that was damaged by an SUV crash. I met with several contractors, but I knew Juan was the right option, given that I had a concurrent sewer line replacement behind the wall due to tree root invasion (the wall coming down enabled the sewer repair). I could tell Juan had the experience and sharp analytical ability that I needed to help balance these overlapping projects (by A G S and the plumbing company). I always have lots of questions, and Juan was happy to explain everything. His crew were great too. Very friendly, professional, and did a beautiful job. Highly recommended!

I cannot speak highly enough about Juan Martinez and his crew from AGS Hardscapes. I sought their services for addressing drainage and hardscape issues in our yard and they did a masterful job. Juan was very responsive from the very beginning to the very end of the project and I have never seen a team work so hard. We had had a terrible erosion issue which resulted in a river in our backyard every time there was a heavy storm and highly exposed tree roots on the side of our house. We now have an integrated drainage system which collects water from our downspouts as well as runoff from our driveway and from our uphill neighbors and directs it away from our house and yard and a soil and mulch path over the tree roots. We also had had a horrible brick "patio" under our deck which had eroded, was a complete eyesore, uneven, terribly slippery, and an injury and lawsuit waiting to happen. We dodged a bullet! They completely removed all the uneven brick and other debris and prepared the area such that most of the deck support footings and air conditioner pads are level and seamlessly integrated into the new concrete. The new area is a smooth concrete slab which slopes gently up to our doorways and directs water from the deck above away from the house and toward one of the catch basins. I am delighted with how it all turned out and I will certainly be calling Juan for future projects!

I am writing to highly recommend Juan Martinez and his crew for any upcoming projects you may have. They recently completed several projects at my home, beginning with beautiful outdoor steps connecting the basement to the garden. I was so pleased with their work that I hired them again to build a cement block wall and a walkway connecting the driveway to the back patio. Most recently, they duplicated that wall on the opposite side of the house and added a landing to the original stairs. Juan is professional, respectful, and very easy to work with. His crew is equally talented, hardworking, and friendly. They did an excellent job on every phase of the project, and I recommend them without reservation. Got a great job from AGS. Tight work to demo/replace concrete slabs in the basement of a 120 yr old house to create usable rooms. Work involved precision leveling of the new slabs between 3 rooms to merge several spaces to allow full wheelchair access to all areas. Work site cleanup was very good. Would definitely use them again!

We recently had AGS Hardscapes complete a pretty large project in our backyard. Juan had the vision and his talented guys were able to bring it to life! They ripped out our rotting wood deck and replaced it with a raised stone patio and added drainage, stairs, and slate chips to the left side to address an erosion issue we were having. They also planted some limelight hydrangeas alongside the stairs, which really pulls everything together! From beginning to end, it’s been a pleasure working with Juan. They also replaced our old sidewalk, which was narrow and uneven. I'm very happy with the work they did! Juan and his team did an amazing job at our home in Tuxedo Park in Buckhead. He was recommended to me from a leading stone provider as one of the best in Atlanta quality and price wise. He did the job on budget and his team took care of things that I did not even anticipate like slopes, drainage, exterior lighting wiring distribution. He even landscaped my back yard that wasn’t walkable before and turned it into a flat football field which will be awesome for the grandkids. He is a great commutator and project manager and his team are all perfectionists.

They worked well past dark every night, they cleaned up after themselves, respectful, kind, and so talented. My mother always used to say “you pay for what you get.” And this situation she could not be more accurate. If you need any hardscaping, this is the only company to use. I did my due diligence and had three companies give me estimates. The first two companies never showed, one company didn’t call me back and then I finally got juan and two others. Juan was the only one that was professional. He sent me an itemized invoice estimate. He told me how long it would take, and he was not at all Aggressive. Interesting note, I used Juan 20 years ago at my former house for a job that wasn’t that big but it came out fantastic and it is still there and doing extremely well. Save your money up AGS Landscaping as well worth it. I am waiting for spring to put in the plants. So all of the gardens which are many that you see will be fully planted by Juans team.

Juan and his crew are Fabulous! I highly recommend. We have used them two different times now. The first project was replacing our uneven front brick steps with stone steps and they did an immaculate job. Second project was rebuilding part of a stone wall we had that was starting to fall part. They rebuilt the wall to match the rest perfectly. They added a drainage system and replaced uneven concrete pieces around our pool. They had to work around our current landscaping, watch our irrigation system and our pool -they completed it all carefully with no issues and it was completed extremely efficiently. We plan on using again for a 3rd project. We highly recommend Juan and his crew.

I am so happy we found Juan and his team at AGS Hardscapes! They work extremely hard and meticulously to create incredible results. We had a number of things done on our backyard this past spring: removal of an old pond, patio, railroad tie retaining wall—Juan and his team poured a 4” concrete pad with pavers on top and created the most beautiful rock retaining wall. We were simultaneously building a new screened in porch—this required us to remove an old external concrete stairwell and shift and pour a new one, which Juan’s team did as well. Additionally, when removing the old porch we found huge cuts in the brick on the house (think 8’ vertical, possibly where a former porch attached to the house?); anyways, the good news is Juan and team are also skilled brick masons, and were able to remove and reuse the old brick to repair the cracks—it looks like they were never there! Lastly, the team leveled out another area of our sloped yard to create an area suitable for a playset. This required multiple retaining walls, again built meticulously and turning out better than I could have hoped. Throughout the whole project Juan was very conscientious about ensuring proper drainage for water while building the patio and retaining walls; thanks to this we no longer get water in our basement with heavy rains. If you need somebody to help bring your hardscape vision to life, I highly recommend Juan and AGS Hardscapes!

I can't recommend AGS Hardscapes highly enough. I contracted with AGS to do a hardscape job focusing on redirecting water around our house after hard rains had caused a deluge of standing water at the foundation. AGS came up with a solid plan after substantial input from me and executed that plan in six days. The team was hard-working and extremely competent, with attention to detail. The team adapted to the inevitable surprises and confidently finished the job, and my spouse and I couldn't be happier with the result. AGS exceeded our expectations.

I am on my third project with AGS. The first one, in my old house, was a basic patio off of our 60s brick ranch. Juan added curves, a built in herb garden, and an area for a Japanese maple to make it interesting. That's what he does - he can take a basic request and turn it into something unique! My second project with him was last summer - an outdoor living/patio with a pergola. Again, I have the basic idea of what I want... a patio. Juan turns it into a beautiful custom piece that we are proud to entertain in. As he was working here, I had the landscapers from another contractor working as well. Juan saw how they were cutting corners and helped me to correct it on the spot. Juan DOES NOT CUT CORNERS, and he doesn't want anyone else's laziness affecting the project. Alas, one year after said landscapers laid the sod, Juan is coming back to rip it up and put turf down for me because the sod looks terrible. :(. He is punctual, reliable, great communication, and has creative ideas. If you are looking for hardscape - and who isn't these days - Juan Martinez and AGS are the best out there!

Juan at AGS Hardscapes is the best in the business! He is fair, talented, and really listens to what you want. He worked on the hardscapes at both our old home ~ 2019 and in our new home in 2021 adding drainage, regrading, and adding beautiful stone walls. He is currently working on resurfacing a fireplace for one of my interior design clients. His team is the best and I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone looking for masonry or hardscape work.

Juan and AGS Hardscapes have done amazing work for us over the years. These pictures are for a multi-step project over several years that they finished in 2019. AGS added flagstone around our pool in 2011, later added a connecting paver patio under our deck, and eventually built a firepit and foundation for a playscape area. These hardscapes are now several years old and we remain extremely happy with them. Note that the lattice brick fence around the pool was not theirs; it is a ~50 year old feature they had to work around. What's really special about AGS is the artistry and expertise they bring to a project. At each stage AGS did a masterful job of turning our vague vision into reality, always building something better than we even imagined. Plus AGS is particularly thoughtful about technical issues like water drainage. I think there are many companies who will install pavers if you tell them exactly what to do, but AGS is in a whole different league. I highly recommend them to anyone who asks us about our backyard.

It is our pleasure to provide reference as well as recommendation for Juan Martinez and his crew with AGS Hardscapes. We obtained multiple bids and all were within +/- 10%, but the solutions proposed were vastly different. The AGS group were recruited to contain a flooding problem in our backyard of a new build in Grant Park which completely inundated our back porch nearly every time it rained. Juan, as an owner and project manager, amazed us with detailed drawings made on his iPad of what we had discussed, often appearing in email within an hour of the discussion. His team deflected the slope by removing 12-14 inches of dirt, laid an underground drainage system with PVC pipe and multiple drains, added a 2ft wall for multiple reasons and sodded the back yard. I personally have never seen a crew work as hard as the AGS group as well as their attention to detail; they are truly professionals. After multiple rains, our back porch no longer floods and we are very pleased. Because of their superb job, we also commissioned AGS to build a stone wall and resurface the sidewalk in our front yard. The compliments of neighbors and walkers are many, it is very attractive. We highly recommend AGS Hardscapes to those interested in landscape design and flood prevention.

Juan and his team have done several hardscape projects for me. He has great vision for design and understands topography and water flow. He is an expert at creating plans for where steps and underground water retaining and runoff systems should be placed and what materials should be used for each job. Juan at AGS Hardscape is the best contractor I've ever worked with you. It's not even close. He showed up when he said he was gonna show up, he and his crew worked hard and fast, the craftsmanship exceeded my expectations, and the project came in at budget. Juan's team tackled a fairly large job of regrading and creating a drainage system in my backyard, laid custom concrete pavers, re-did our parking pad, rebuilt our deck, and built a fence. If you don’t use AGS Hardscapes for your yard project, it will be your loss! We discussed our project with a range of potential contractors before deciding to go with Juan Martinez at AGS. Most other contractors we spoke with were more intent on pushing what they thought should be done, rather than genuinely listening to & understanding what it was that we were looking to achieve. Juan not only listened to what we wanted, but helped us to better dimension what would be involved & to visualize our concepts in the drawings he put together & amended as our collective ideas crystallized. Over a period of about 6 weeks, we were able to be involved as much or as little as we wanted, but Juan always sought our OK as key milestones or decision points were reached. He & his entire team are very professional, knowledgeable & courteous. They were easy to work with & consistently put in some fairly long hours, regardless what day of the week it was … unless the weather had other ideas that is! In addition to hardscaping, they also helped us move some sizable shrubs & other plants along the way & laid 1,500 sq.ft of sod that we had delivered. After about 30 tons of rock, a strong focus on ensuring there was proper drainage & a few adjustments to different things along the way, AGS Hardscapes helped transform our sloping front & rear yards, where moss & weeds pretty much dominated previously, into usable areas of level yard space that are a pleasure to spend time in now as we set about adding the finishing touches. The retaining walls, steps, pathways & other features that Juan & his team installed, all add considerable functionality & increased curb appeal, not to mention the completely unique character that only natural stone provides. Juan’s pricing is very competitive & in our opinion is some of the best value for money you’ll be able to get for any hardscaping work that you may need to have done. In the 4 photos that we are able to upload with this review, it is hard to do justice to the stunning difference that AGS has made to our place. Suffice it to say that we cannot recommend them highly enough.

I recently retained AGS Hardscapes to put in a new patio, change the slope of my yard, and install a new irrigation system. Juan Martinez, the owner, worked with me to arrive at a design concept. He made sure he understood what I wanted and helped me pick out really nice pavers. His hard-working crew labored long hours daily on my project. All of his workers were conscientious, pleasant, and highly skilled. If you need hardscaping done, this is the company you want to hire! And the cost was very reasonable!

Juan and his workers were punctual and arrived on the scheduled date. The bricks on my carport were old, commercial bricks and could not be simply replaced. Instead he had to use the old bricks, which he had to carefully remove the old bricks, clean them, and then reinstall them. His work was excellent, and I was impressed with how professional all his workers were. At the end of the project, they cleaned up the area so that it looked almost new. I highly recommend this company

Lucky for me that I discovered Juan / AGS Hardscapes when driving past a remarkable project they were working on in my neighborhood. Juan’s proposal was significantly more linear feet of dry stack stone boulder wall at a significantly lower price than another company. I was so pleased with phase 1 that I immediately moved on to phase 2: demolition of a 5’ tall rock/mortar fire pit ‘thing’ that I had filled with rock debris and repurposing that material to modify an existing retaining wall. An outcome of that was expanding access at the back side of my house from 2’ to 10’ (now allowing a bobcat to reach my back yard). From there: a dry stack stone boulder retaining wall with steps to make the area below my deck flat; a 6’ retaining wall (modular anchor block) at the front edge of my house; 17 crab orchard flagstone steps along the sloped side of my house with a landing / steps at the base fabricated from existing cinder blocks that I wanted to discard (watching the skilled masons craft that from ‘debris’ and apply stucco was fascinating); a landing / planter bed from flagstone rubble at the top of the steps; small boulder edging at property line for a garden bed; massive tree stump extraction. Juan is a talented / creative artist. He provided detailed digital sketches (files) updated at each phase (example attached). My assessment of AGS Hardscapes: Honest | Fair | Affordable | Reliable | Hardworking | Skilled. I also learned a lot from watching and can do more projects on my own now. My front yard was an embarrassing eyesore (a spongy sloping mess of weeds). It is now stunning, and I am so inspired / energized to work on my new ‘foodscaping’ project. Looking forward to future projects in my large back yard!

Juan and his team spent a week making my backyard and side yard into wonder little oasis in Tucker. Now I am no longer afraid of flooding when it rains or tripping when I try to walk form the front yard to the back. Not only did they install a French Drain, I have an amazing little rain garden, along with a beautiful path and gorgeous stone steps. ;My neighbors, my cats and I are very happy.

We had our front porch and steps completely redone. (See before and after pics) Juan was very responsive and gave us a fair quote for our project in a very timely manner. They began work just 2 days after accepting the project. Juan helped us with the design and implemented the design exactly how we planned. The workmanship, attention to detail and materials used were all high quality. I would use AGS Hardscapes again and hopefully will for other projects! Very pleased with the entire project! Our new front steps and porch look beautiful!!

Without any reservations at all I will say that Juan and his loyal crews are undoubtedly the best in the business. I have had a lot of masonry done on my homes in the past and used a few different companies getting different levels of results. However once I found Juan and AGS Hardscapes I have not even considered getting further bids from other companies as I have continued to think up new projects to have done. Juan takes an incredible amount of time to be sure that your end result will be just as you imagined or as in my case, always better than imagined. At my current home I first hired Juan to build a complete wood burning masonry fireplace from real stone Cut thin so that the apearence is heavy but the actual result is capable of sitting on a reinforced second floor; He did an amazing job that becameand the fireplace became the focal point of a family room addition. From there his crew repaired; and in two cases, cut out and replaced both interior and exterior masonry staircases and steps so that they would meet modern code standards. His crew used a special two part masonry product to preserve one of my exterior poured staircases that were grandfathered in and could not be demoed and rebuilt. 4 years later they still all look like new. His crew built an extension of a granite and brick wall that looks like it was an original part of my 1953 home. They did this by “harvesting” the granite that was partially buried around my yard apparently left from the original build, and forming it into useable “wall block” type pieces and then matching the grout color and the raised grout style. Amazing attention to details like this make the results seamless to the existing structure. As an “on-going project” Juan and his crews have spent many weekends patiently helping me to design and install an elaborate hardscape yard including stone and stone gardens wrapping completely around my home, terracing my yard, and installing several tractor trailers full of rocks and boulders. Again the results are amazing thanks to Juan meeting me many times at the stone yard to look at and choose boulders, gravel, etc. that work together as well as by taking the time to position each one just right so as to look natural. A true testimate to Juan’s professional attitude and creative skills is that his crew members are a group of loyal workers that share his love for “everything rock”. Over the years I have had the joy of getting to know several of these guys and they are extremely loyal to Juan and his vision. These aren’t just guys that are picked up for a day of labor. They are all friends committed to providing an all around exceptional experience and it shows. Yes I believe that the result of hiring AGS hardscapes is more than getting a great result, as you get an all around amazing experience.

AGS Hardscapes are amazing artists that have a great, solid understanding of structures. We have used them multiple times over the past few years for new construction and for restoration of old structures. We would not consider using any one else! We have always been so happy with the entire process from estimate to job completion. The crew communicate well, work fast, and keep a very clean job site. They are incredibly professional. The structures that AGS Hardscapes built for us look just as good as they did the day of completion and are just as solid. We attached a few photos of a retaining wall, mailbox, and flagstone patio they built for us.

AGS did a fantastic job creating my backyard patio with pavers. I was referred to them by a local stone dealer. They built it exactly to my design at the quoted price and on schedule. They sloped the patio away from the house perfectly so no water issues. Years later it still looks great. Juan's team was on time and very professional and hard working. I would not hesitate to recommend AGS. They are truly professionals.

A G S demolished and rebuilt a stone patio and a long stack stone garden wall for us. They did a wonderful job and it was absolutely beautiful. Juan even recommended large garden rocks that enhanced the aesthetics even more. They also installed a dry well for water control which has greatly reduced our water issues. They were extremely professional and always on time.....arrived when they said they would and finished on schedule. I would highly recommended them!
