American Pools & Spas

We signed a contract in the fall of 2021 to have American Pools & Spas install a pool and screen enclosure. The salesman was very helpful but after we signed the contract and paid our first deposit everything went downhill from there. Their customer service rep was very rude and disrespectful. Many times the company would send their subcontractors and employees to our home to work on the pool without prior notice. The jobsite was very cluttered and messy. Their project managers informed us they were each responsible for 35 to 70 pools and could not oversee the work as they would like. Even though the company promised us they would "fast track" the work it is now late summer and they have yet to complete the work and obtain the certificate of occupancy from the building department. There were several cases of poor workmanship and quality. I understand they were a very good company at one time but oversold their pool jobs and could not properly serve their customers. We could list a number of deficiencies in their work but space does not permit each individual detail. I would never recommend this company.

Everything from Sales to install has been fantastic! Matt Mustoe, the sales person, Wow'd us with designs and help, the installation team stayed in constant contact and were just a text away or email away, and everyone that came out to do their part was nice, respectable and very pleasant to work with. I don't see any recent reviews here so thought I should share. This company may have been spectacular a year or two ago, but now they can't keep up with all the business they signed. Our project is at 7 months since paying our deposit and optimistically hoping for only 2 more to be finished. First their scheduler was let go then our project manager quit. Our new project supervisor, Jaimie, has been great, but no one else really. Despite paying for their service, they are not willing to work with you. Asked to change something over a week ago. 3 emails later I get a response that the permit was submitted so it is what it is. Not going to change it. We're talking about a baby fence too, not even a complicated change. With so many companies in the central fl area, please due your due diligence.

Don’t look any further use this company! From start to finish they were complete professionals, the job was finished in record time. Our neighbors were blown away with the quality and cleanliness of the job. We were able to get exactly what we wanted and were not pressured to add or change anything, selections were endless and our salesman was very patient with us...lol...so much to choose from! We had several quotes and their price was exactly where we needed it to be. Thank You American Pools for the backyard we always wanted!

The pool construction process was professional, friendly, courteous, and well planned out. A few hiccups along the way but everything had a happy ending. It was a real pleasure having American Pools & Spas build my pool. Thanks to all who did a great job.

Nothing but wonderful things to say about American Pools and Spas. John was a great salesman. Extremely knowledgeable, not high-pressure at all, and gave some really good advice on how to spend money with upgrades. Their scheduling department was on-point. Throughout the entire project, we knew what was going to happen and when. The sub-contractors were never late, always cleaned up, and were respectful of our property. Also, after every step our construction supervisor stopped by to confirm the step was completed. He also came by when we all thought Dorian was coming to make sure the site was secured. That was amazing to me! We did have to use financing, and they made it a priority to complete the project by the financing deadline. My family has loved the pool so far, and we know it was worth every single penny. Like I said, nothing but wonderful things to say. I have a couple friends building pools right now, and they complain about a lot. I tell them- Should've went with American!

We installed our pool summer of 2019. Our salesperson was Ray. He was very knowledgeable and personable. I liked how he took our ideas about the pool design into account and didn't try to sell us a cookie-cutter design. They have "canned" designs available if that's what you're looking for, but we wanted a more custom feel. The pre-construction meeting went smoothly. Our construction manager was James and we could tell he had tons of experience running pool installations. In retrospect, we should have asked more detailed questions about the early phases of construction because there were a couple surprises early in the project. My recommendation is to communicate with your construction manager about any plans you have with moving irrigation, moving landscaping, etc prior to starting the project. After construction started, we were very pleased and impressed with the level and frequency of communication we received from the project team. They gave us approximate milestone dates and we always had at least 24 hours notice before the next phase of construction was happening. Overall, we love the finished product and would highly recommend American Pools and Spas for your pool installation. They are real professionals.

Great team, very responsive and professional. Super happy with final product. They keep us inform throughout the process and were always willing and available to answer any question we may had.

They build me a 14’ X 28’ pool as we design to specs.From day one I didn’t experience anything that would worry me.After the pool was built American pools and the subcontractors did always respond in a courteous and professional manner.

We hired American Pools and Spas in 2015, we wanted a pool and thought we were in good hands. It turns out that American Pools and Spas weren't doing the job themselves but actually subcontracted the job to Seminole Excavators who were super careless with their machines. They destroyed a sewer pipe which had nothing to do with the area where the pool was going to be constructed, as a result of their negligence we had to pay $3,800 to repair the pipe because the county said it was on our property and not the public street. To add injury to insult were told by American Pools and Spas we would not be reimbursed as per our contract. Do your homework, make sure the company you use does all the work, and takes responsiblity for their mistakes.
