Special thanks go to Paniz, the lead designer, whose ideas perfectly matched our Eichler and provided lots of livable space. She paid close attention to every detail to ensure everything came out perfectly. We also want to recognize Oksana, our planting designer, whose knowledge, precision, and passion resulted in a beautiful landscape, full of color. Throughout the project, the whole team was exceptionally responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. Communication was seamless, and everyone listened to our input and followed through with great care. The team responded to our every concern, and worked with us to adjust the design and materials to fit within our budget. This is probably way overdue as we finished our project earlier this year. We live in San Diego and wanted to remodel our home our builder recommended we work with Bay Scenery for design only portion of it. Bay Scenery is a design & build so we reached out to them and they said they work with many builders around the country and also locally where they are in San Francisco bay area as their in house design team is primarily focused on design while they do have a build arm, they are not exclusive to their build division. They had worked with our local builder a few times before. The price was a bit higher than local designers primarily because we had to pay for the travel time a few times but well worth it. They did all the design from start to finish and worked with us and the builder throughout the project. They visited the site a few times to collaborate with us and also discuss changes. Overall very satisfied with their design team and their design process. We never had the chance to work with their build division but clearly the company has extensive knowledge for CA building requirements. They are commended for design for sure.

Relocating from Europe, we loved our new home here but missed that authentic European Mediterranean outdoor living style. It is genuinely hard to find designers locally who understand the nuances of that aesthetic, rather than just a generic imitation. That changed when we found Bay Scenery. We were incredibly impressed with Behdad, the Head of Design. It turns out he holds an architectural degree from Italy and had extensive project experience there before leading the team here. That background made all the difference; he just 'got it.' The process was fantastic—Behdad and his team met with us several times to refine ideas, utilizing LIDAR scans to create precise models of our space so we could visualize everything perfectly. They literally made our Mediterranean dream come true. If you are looking for authentic, high-end design, I highly recommend Behdad and the Bay Scenery team.

For years we wanted to have a swimming pool for the house but was always afraid of what it will take to get it done. We searched for local pool builders and talked to a few of them, they seem to be only pool builder and would not do any of the other work like the patio or anything else. one of the pool builders we contacted was Bay Scenery and they told us that they are multi licensed and able to take on almost everything as they are also a GC and a licensed landscape contractor. We started working with their inhouse design team, design process was fairly easy and took about 1 month but the permit process for the pool took a while with the city (Hillsborough) not Bay Scenery's fault, we just had to wait. Bay Scenery took care of all the permit work from working with other engineers like structural engineer and civil engineer as they project managed the entire process. Once permit was given, they were able to start the pool almost immediately and then the rest which took about 3 months which seems like a long time but there was a lot of patio work and they also build a basketball court for us as well. Overall very happy with our selection

Bay Scenery did an outstanding job from start to finish. They built a beautiful pergola and delivered top-tier masonry work with real craftsmanship. Alfonso and David handled the stonework with precision, and Rafael kept the entire project organized and smooth. The team works clean, communicates well, and takes genuine pride in what they do. We were able to customize our placement and move it around as necessary to make sure that we got everything correct before they starting digging. Bay Scenery has a large inventory of materials at their disposal, so you can dream as grand as you like or keep it simple. Whatever you choose, they are up for the task. I can’t say enough about the professionalism of Ali and his team. Ali was patient in his design of our backyard pergola to meet all of our needs. He was always available to us and responded in a timely manner with any questions or requests. Ali will work with you and suggest ideas that will keep within your budget. There was never a time that I felt rushed into a decision. Once the design was selected, the crew at Bay Scenery was exceptional with accomplishing the task. Everyone knew what they needed to do and every crew member took exceptional care with ensuring that no collateral damage was done while installing the pergola. Each day they cleaned up the area from the day’s work to make sure that no hazards were left behind and after everything was done. They brought all the necessary tools for the project and completed the job in a very efficient timeline. I couldn’t be happier with choosing this company and having Ali lead the way with making our dreams into a reality. We were so happy that we added an additional job of replacing our backyard lawn with some pavers and French drainage to prevent any pooling of water from the rain. we live in San Diego and our old friend who used to live in Bay Area recommended we work with Bay Scenery Design for our new home. They are a design and build but when we reached out to them, they said they worked with many out of area builders and do their designs as well so we got started. This review is for their design team, the build was done by a local builder as Bay Scenery does not have a branch here. Their design team is very proactive with a level of service that we have not seen before. Working with their head of design team we had arranged several meetings both on site at our new house location as well as through zoom calls, it did take about 4 months to develop the outdoor plans. Our home architect worked closely with them to make sure they were in Sync as well. Their design team is one of a kind and they started to do some out of state unique design works. If you are in the bay area you are all set but if you are not, you might get in touch with them as well, but make sure you have your own local builder as they cannot build outside of Bay Area. For our dream home in San Diego we are thankful for their work as well as our architect and builder. Team work is what this was all about

Needed an elegant yet simple design for our house and decided to look around and interview a few companies. Started with Architects & Designers and sadly did not find one that was able to meet both our budget and expectations as how to go about the project. We both work and don't have much time to manage various contractors and designers and wanted a one stop shop. One of the design build companies we interviewed was Bay Scenery. Their management team met with us on site and we did a walkthrough on what we wanted, they provided us with a great plan of action that included all elements that we were looking for. Their design team would work with us for the design, they will coordinate with third parties for other things needed for permitting like Civil and Structural Engineering and even file the paperwork at the city. Their design team was very patient with us and accommodate us based on our busy schedules, took us to sites to see materials and helped with every aspect Permitting took a bit of time, no fault of them its just that our city is a bit tough to get permits in but they worked through it. Their build team were great, consistently on the job every weekday, very professional and courteous and got the job done working non-stop. We could not be happier recommend them to everyone who wants to do construction without the usual headaches.

We have been looking for a pre-engineered ADU for a while, there are many in the market. One thing many don't realize is that when an ADU is installed or constructed in the backyard, pretty much most of the backyard is destroyed during the process. As we talked to a few , we quickly figured out that they only care about doing their ADU installation and the rest was by us. We found Bay Scenery from the Boxabl website as they are the local installer for their ADUs. Boxabl is getting famous due to their unique ADUs but finding installers who can do design as well as installation is rare. We hired Bay Scenery to do a complete design for your backyard considering we are getting the ADU installed from Boxabl, the process took about a month and was very collaborative. The Boxabl ADU comes with almost all permit files that you need, Bay Scenery did the site work (Utilities, slab ..etc) and did the complete installation. Couldn't be happier with the results.

late writing this review but catching up on this Christmas eve. The project was finished months ago and I wanted to write this review as this team deserves recognition were introduced to Bay Scenery by a colleague who had them redo their entire backyard. While their construction was ongoing we visited a few times and were impressed by the quality and speed that the Bay Scenery team worked so we hired them. our project was a bit more complicated as we wanted to add a pool, build a BBQ kitchen around it and also add an ADU next to the pool. We thought we might need to work with multiple contractors but it turned out that Bay Scenery team could do all of it as they are a GC, a Pool Builder and also a landscape contractor. On top of that they have a delightful inhouse design and architecture team that is simply pleasure to work with. we started with a great design process, very collaborative and transparent, it took us about 2 months to get the design done which probably took that long as we had great many ideas and Bay Scenery team was more than happy to work with us to figure out what would be the best option. Once the design was completed, it took them about a couple of weeks to get all the numbers together for us, we also asked 3 other companies to bid as well. Bay Scenery was not the cheapest nor the most expensive of the bids and we felt very comfortable working with them as they did our entire design so we hired them. They assigned to us a corporate project manager, a field team and with the support of our design team they brought our vision to life

I was referred to Bay Scenery by a neighbor who worked with them for their pool remodeling as we were thinking of building a new pool for a while. They are a very responsive company and customer service oriented, emails are promptly answered, meetings scheduled using calendaring system and all. They also have a design studio in Mountain View that we visited often during the design process. Our designer's name was Paniz and she was amazingly creative and knowledgeable. We had a few ideas we wanted to try to see what it will look like near the pool with a pergola and a BBQ place and she would try different layouts and do a 3D model and present it to us in record time which enabled us to make decisions along the way as we were doing the design. Once the design was completed, they rendered the project for us to get a better visual presentation and are now working on the permit process. Clearly a great company for design and we are excited to start with them the build part as soon as the permit is done. Everyone around us told us it will be stressful and expensive process to get this design done, working with Bay Scenery and Paniz it was neither stressful nor expensive. They took good care of us.

a few months ago we hired Bary Scenery to start with a design for our ADU and backyard landscaping. After looking at a few contractors and also designers we decided to go with a design and build. Talked to the owner, Ali, about the process and he was very clear as to the fact that they design under the contractor license so if they end up getting the permit they are the only ones that can build it but he also said if they decide not to build with them we can shop around and get our own contractor but that contractor has to do their own permit work. Checked with local city and they confirmed that is the case, so we hired them to start with design. Their team is local in Mountain View and have a nice design studio, worked with head of design Behdad a lot, he has a lot of architectural educational background from Italy and his style of work is very unique. They designed our ADU and our backyard in about 2 months timeframe and gave us details for the construction cost as well. We shopped around and found out that other builders prices were very similar to Bay Scenery but they did not want to deal with Permit nor they seems to have both trades we need which were General Contractor and Landscape Contract and we would have to deal with multiple companies ourselves which was not ideal considering our own daily work load. Signed the contract to build with Bay Scenery, they have taken care of all of the permit work like clockwork and kept us in the loop. Few challenges from the city that they are working on and we are about to start build. I must say we were not too sure about a design and build but found that the Bay Scenery team were the most transparent and honest about the process and so far have enjoyed working with them.

Summer 2022 After much research and deliberation, we decided to contract Bay Scenery to do a full-scale remodel of our backyard. We spent a lot of time with their design team to come up with exactly the look that we were going for, which was to turn the backyard into a resort-like haven. Behdad at the time was living in Italy so we had zoom calls to collaborate. Once we had the final design (which included a little kidney shaped pool) it was time to move forward to purchase materials. Ali found that the pool company was no longer going to be making the pool. This was the only company that offered the pool that we required and was to be a focal point in the yard. Ali was not going to take no for an answer from the pool company and worked his magic so that they did a special last run of the pool. Once the team got started it was full steam ahead. The team was extremely organized with all their dirt removals and deliveries and coordination of flagstone, crane lift, pool delivery and installation etc. It was extremely exciting to watch all the progress day by day and we took pictures throughout the process. All the teams were very personable and professional and a joy to work with. There was no task or problem too small for them to fix for us and if there was any question, they would come to us to ensure that it was done to our liking. When I mention teams there were numerous teams who managed different aspects of the remodel. We had new IPE stairs put in and an IPE barbeque area installed, we had a huge area of flagstone paths and extensive retaining walls put in, a new pool (with a difficult sculpture to move and install) which included a gorgeous water feature that we adore, a wooden pool equipment & garbage area as well as a fire pit and sitting area (also with a difficult sculpture to move and install), lighting and extensive planting which looks beautiful. We could highly recommend Bay Scenery to do your design work and installation of your project. You will find them to be honest, hardworking and a pleasure to work with. Please note that our novice pictures do not do this gorgeous yard justice!

From the very first day of walking Ali through our yards, where he patiently listened to our requirements, to the very detailed, creative and iterative design process of constantly getting amazing ideas and collaborative partnership with Behdad and the creative team, to the 'all-in' execution phase where Bay Scenery team worked tirelessly to meet our aggressive schedules, we could not have asked for a better partner. The Bay Scenery team has been skillful, patient, and creative in all aspects. For example, finding the perfect lighting solution, the right trees and shrubs with a well-balanced watering plan, the custom built kitchen and seat wall - the team paid attention, always had a 'plan B' and did this with patience and skillful execution. Throughout the execution phase we always had neighbors stopping by super impressed with how fast things were progressing, how professional the team was and how beautiful our yard looked. We hired Bay Scenery for a complete yard makeover and could not be happier with the results! Our previous yard required a lot of irrigation and we expressed a desire for more draught-tolerant and maintenance free landscaping. Bay Scenery helped us design a new yard with these goals in mind. We really appreciated how collaborative the design process was, and especially how receptive to feedback they were throughout. We were really impressed by the level of professionalism and craftsmanship displayed by the entire Bay Scenery crew once the design was finalized and it came time for construction. The crew showed up on time each morning and made sure to clean up the construction site before leaving each day. Bay Scenery kept in constant contact with us throughout the project and provided regular updates throughout. They also made sure to follow-up with any concerns raised throughout the project. They placed just as much weight on getting the project done well with a high level of quality as they did on getting the project done on time. We receive constant praise about our landscaping whenever we have friends over and would not hesitate to use Bay Scenery again for future projects!

My husband and I purchased our dream home with a backyard that was underutilized. We were looking for a modern landscape architect to help us design our dream backyard and put in a pool and a hot tub. Our real estate agent introduced us to Ali and we started working with the Bay Scenery team. We were incredibly impressed with the quality and creativity of the initial designs that they came up with including novel, modern features like a firepit wall around the outdoor patio that we had never seen before and amazing detailed lighting that looked like a new 5 star resort. They were able to help us navigate the challenging permit process in our city including how to get approvals to do construction around a giant redwood tree in the backyard that limited the options that we had for the pool. Ali, Behdad, and team helped us design a custom above ground stainless steel pool and hot tub with a see-through glass window from a 3rd party company and then coordinated to have a crane airlift the vessels over our house. They managed the installation of the pool and hot tub as well as back and forth with the manufacturer to iterate the design to account for a manufacturer defect that required extra braces to support the vessels as well as having the coping float above the vessel vs sit directly on it. Bay scenery put together the planting and did incredible woodwork around our pool, equipment shed, and purgola. We had scheduled a labor day party to celebrate the new space and Ali and his team went above and beyond to get the project done in time for the party. We ended up with our dream, modern backyard and were very happy with the overall experience and process working with the Bay Scenery team so would recommend them to anyone looking to turn their backyard into their own resort!

We moved into our house in Los Altos and the team did a fantastic job landscaping the front and the back yards, both hardscaping and softscaping. love them and recommend Ali and his team enthusiastically

We have had our home for great many years, looked at how we might be able to refresh the outdoor area for the past few years but stopped short of getting some ideas from various designers that we worked with. Its very hard for us to visualize the end results so we always stopped and wondered what it would look like and never started construction part of it. We saw an ad from Bay Scenery and visited their site and saw their portfolio, they seemed to use a lot of 3D renderings that looked great. Contacted them and after a short visit by one of their project managers, we asked to go and see one of the sites that they have done renderings for to see how good were the end results vs what they designed and rendered. We were amazed when we visited one of their client sites, the rendering was as if it was a picture that was taken from the site. Contacted them back and went through a design process that took about 2.5 months from beginning to the end but they were very much willing to work with my wife and I to make updates and adjustments as we needed them. Some of that time was probably caused by us being very picky but they helped us get where we wanted to be. Construction crew is amazing, they are courteous and very much skilled in what they do. They were at the project every day from 8am to 4pm until the project was finished. The construction took about 6 weeks from beginning to end. Very organized company to work with, great people and lots of skill and caring for what they do.

We had a design completed by another designer and have been shopping around to find a suitable builder. Have had a hard time finding one that would take on the project as they were all busy. Finally found two that were interested one was Bay Scenery. They have had good reviews on multiple sites so we contacted them, within a few hours we had Nadine from their office reach out to us and start the process. After a site visit by one of their managing partners and his team, they pulled together a very detailed proposal for us that was not just a text and a number but line by line, a lot of details about each tasks and subtask of the project. They were a bit more expensive than the other company but since they have put so much detail in their proposal and we did a reference check and all came back great we went with them. They started project in 5 days after we signed the contract which was amazing (most companies told us months before they can start) and they finished the project within 4.5 weeks, every day their team was here and they left the job site clean every single day. On Fridays they even clean the site more knowing we might want to spend time outside. Very good company, organized and very skilled construction crew.

Was looking for a design build company and came across Bay Scenery ad on Yelp. Contact was easy on the site and a few hours later they setup a time for on site visit Their design team is great but very busy so it took a bit of time for our design to be done but they kept us in the loop They have a fairly large construction team and were able to start the project within one week after we signed the construction agreement. Their construction team is very organized and trained to focus on customer satisfaction. We were able to get the project done in 5 weeks. Overall a great experience

Living in Saratoga is great but at times finding good service company is hard as its too far for most companies to get there. A friend referred us to Bay Scenery and Ali who is one of the owner's of the company. Getting in touch with them was easy, a simple form on the site and they contacted us within a few hours, and we setup a time to meet with Ali. He was on-time (actually early) to our meeting which was a plus to begin with (sadly these days its true that most contractors don't care for that sort of stuff). First visit was most introductory and finding what are the possibilities, Ali outlined a detailed process as how they go about each and every project and how they make sure nothing falls through the cracks. They have integrated a lot of technology into their process that makes it really easy to work with and also they have amazing team. Right upfront Ali asked "whats your budget for construction" which was a bit of turn off for us but he. explained, as a design build, he can build a million dollar project or a $100K project, but he has to have a target without it, it will be total waste of time and our design $$s. So we told him our number and he got started with the process. first was a Lidar scan which later on we found out the great value of it. They use an $18K device to scan the entire property and get every measurement and every elevation. Which contractor does that? They asked us to fill out a form letting them know what we like or don't like .. it was a good way for my wife and I to be able to focus on the project details all in one place second we met with their team of designers, Tina & Jeanie, who are simply amazing, they talked about a few concepts and ideas with us and then started their development. Ali disclosed to us that they have a division out of Italy that is part of their design team, a few architects that went to Italian architectural schools work for them there. We didn't really know what it meant at the beginning but found out later with the quality of the design that they gave us. It was uniquely different and original. Design was done in about 3 weeks post our meeting with Tina & Jeanie, which is a great, most other designers we talked to were thinking months before they even start. Excellent design, a couple of reviews and detail discussions over zoom calls and they even brought the Italian team online to discuss the project with us. It must have been midnight there but they were online and discussing the project Proposal took a bit of time, somewhat surprising as they are design build company, but they gave us dates and updates. Proposal was around the budget that we gave them and we signed up. A week later their crew was at our house and started to work. Their mason team is amazingly detailed oriented and the work they did for us on the flagstone patio looks amazing. 6 weeks of work later we had our vision developed into reality.

One star for creating a nice landscape design for our project, one star for Tina who was a pleasure to work with. The positives end there. When we started the design phase with Ali he dodged on questions of cost and assured us that we could discuss tradeoffs and "adjust all the knobs" after the design was complete. Once we got to that point, however, Bay Scenery's response times lengthened considerably and they would - seemingly intentionally - only ever answer half of our questions. In addition, items that we discussed at length during the design were quietly omitted from the quote (even though they were in the drawings). When I asked why, Ali mentioned those items would be "extra" and we could add it later. I suspect Bay Scenery was trying to mislead me with a low quote and add cost once work began. When I questioned the omissions in the quote and requested pricing for a design element (for the third time, they refused to answer), Ali abruptly dropped us as clients after we'd invested 5 months in the process and were weeks from kicking off work. It's hard to describe the relationship's decay but it was clear that Ali thought he was better than us and that we were wasting his time. I can't speak to Bay Scenery's construction work but they seem like they can pull off good work if you're prepared to write them a blank check and not ask questions. When we asked questions and discussed cost, however, we were met with only condescension and evasion.

We hired Bay Scenery to install a statue in our garden. It was a difficult project since the statue was heavy and had to be installed at the rear of the house with difficult access. It also needed to be implemented in a way that provided stability in the case of land slippage or earthquakes. Ali and his team, including Al the supervisor, did an excellent job overall. They really owned the project: coordinating with the original designer to devise a mechanism to anchor the statue into a block of concrete using a metal plate and screws; arranging to receive the statue from the shipper; installing it successfully; and then finishing up the hard and soft landscaping around the statue. There were a number of unforeseen and significant challenges that occurred during the project, but at every stage Ali and his team came up with solutions and persevered until the project was successfully completed. The site was always cleaned up every night. Ali and Al were very careful to coordinate access to the property to maintain security. They found and sourced project material that had not been planned initially. All in all Bay Scenery showed a commitment to delivering an excellent result, with a professional team, and fairly priced. They are also very nice people to work with. I would strongly recommend them.

I worked with Bay Scenery through a client of mine. This was my first time working with Bay Scenery since the majority of my projects are in the DC area. I went in fully blind but was very relieved that my client chose this company. Their communication was timely; all measurements and installments were accurate; and, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. These types of projects can sometimes stressful, but Bay Scenery made it hassle free the entire time -- which is exactly what every client (and designer!) wants. Most importantly, our client was ecstatic with the final result. These are definitely my go-to guys next time I am on the West Coast.

We contracted Harris Landscape (now Bay Scenery) to redo our front yard. The old yard was a waste land when Ian came to do the estimate. He was very knowledgeable, professional yet personable with his approach to landscape design and construction. The proposal was written by Nate, the Sr. Project Manager, it was very detailed- with full description of the work to be done plus pricing on each line items. We like his approach and decided to work with them without hesitation. They have a large crew who rotate depends on the work to be done. They're efficient and kept us informed on the progress. Their work was high quality and they bring to our attention that changes could be made to improve the design and functions of the irrigation system. We have a new front yard that is good looking and environmentally friendly. They did the majority work on time and on budget (even with the changes). We have to wait to install the plants because the nursery didn't have the stock (they have to grow them). I'm very happy with Bay Scenery, the crew and their work. I would recommend them for all landscape project.

Have been thinking of making some updates to our backyard for a while but couldn't find the right time and right resources to get it started. Every time we tried to get started the designers or the developers were too busy to work with us or perhaps our project was too small for them. We contacted Bay Scenery through their online form and to our surprise within an hour we were contacted by one of their designers to find out more about our project. A meeting was setup a couple of days later to visit the site and go over our ideas. They worked on a design for us and generated a 3D rendition of the design. The 3D rendition was amazing to help us visualize what the final project will look like. We had a few changes which they made fairly quickly and project was started shortly after. Their project management team and their crew showed up on time every day, did the work and they cleaned up after themselves every day as well. You would not know that we had construction going on there as these guys were very detail oriented and made sure they did not leave the job site dirty. Their foreman, Mario, is exceptionally kind man and cares about every aspect of the project. We couldn't be happier with them. Clear communication with the team through email and phone, timely project updates and they finished a few days before the project was due.

We highly recommend Harris Landscaping and appreciate their service. We have a relationship with Harris Landscaping that started several years ago and is ongoing. We first dealt with Harris Landscaping when we hired a landscape designer to create a drainage plan to divert water away from our house foundation. Before we could complete the definitive plans, an early intense rainy season started and we had water pouring in under our foundation. We contacted Harris Landscaping to see if they could help us out until our definitive plans were completed and approved by the county. Sure enough, Nate and his crew came out immediately and dug a trench and diverted the water. Since that time they have installed an extensive permanent drainage system, installed an extensive irrigation system, and planted numerous large yard trees and shrubs. Their customer service is excellent and the workers are courteous and professional. We plan to continue to work with Harris because we have been more than satisfied with the work and service they have provided.

We had a great experience working with Harris Landscaping. The crew worked efficiently and with care and the whole team was responsive with our concerns, suggestions and requests. Follow-ups via text or email were quickly handled. Our new backyard looks great too! What a make over--and within our budget.

Working with Nate Crosby of Harris Landscaping was most gratifying. He took the time to thoroughly understand our desires, executing our requests promptly and efficiently. We have had a fantastic experience working with Nate Crosby and his team from Harris Landscaping. They implemented all aspects of a demanding project with planting, lighting, retaining walls, stone paths, water feature and brick patio. For each aspect of the project, they were timely, professional yet friendly, and paid exquisite attention to detail. They finished on time and stayed within the proposed budget. Nate visited the site every morning to supervise the project and to look over small details such as irrigation as well as unforeseen events such as the squirrels uprooting plants. He communicated frequently with us and the landscape designer, and was flexible in incorporating design changes or small additions.
