This was a restoration project after a fire that left the shell of my house as the only part viable. He redesigned the layout of the house and came up with solutions to correct the design problems of the original house. I now have a beautiful home that finished above and beyond expectation. His crews were on time, respectful and supportive during a very difficult time.

We hired Jim Bell to design & build our home about 25 years ago. It was a very good experience for us. From the start, Jim asked lot's of questions & we gave him our answers. We asked Jim questions and he gave us honest answers. At the end of it all, we ended up with a very well built, efficient & attractive home that has remained virtually trouble free ever since. I especially remember a comment made by the municipal building inspector, who on about his 2nd or 3rd visit to our construction site, told us that from the quality of work that he had already seen, we didn't really need any more inspections. That's why we asked Jim to redo the original back patio which was showing signs of ground settling from the installation of a closed-loop ground source geothermal heating & cooling system some 25 years ago. We knew & trusted Jim & we trusted his choices in the sub-trades.

We remember our first meeting with Jim when he was still with David Malling, first impression Jim is an excellent listener. We had done our research and were full of ideas on what we wanted in a home. Our dream home was not simple, curved walls, interesting roof lines, timber frame beams, oversized windows and doors, a massive fireplace, Jim made it all come to life on paper. Some of Jim's best attributes were his calm manner, promptness and availability. He was always reachable or prompt in getting back if we or our general contractor had a question or an issue. This was so reassuring especially when you are in the thick of a project of this magnitude. Building a home from scratch is never easy, but Jim helped simplify some decision making. His sample charts for example for the exterior of our home, he had choices for colour/style/texture to help us envision where we wanted stone versus brick and wood siding. When we think back on our overall experience in building our beautiful home, hiring Jim to design it was one of the best decisions we had made. Thanks Jim for making our dream come true !!!!!!
