We wanted to make a cozy library out of an undistinguished dining room. Bryce listened to our goals and then gave us many ideas about how to achieve them. He is extremely pleasant to work with, full of ideas but not dictatorial. He designed complex cabinetry and shelves. He is very creative and had many ideas that we would never have thought of. One example: he figured out how to create spaces for a large etching and a heavy sculpture that we wanted to display. Another example: he suggested making a window seat under a bay window. A third example: he suggested drawers and cabinets under some of the shelves. He has very good taste and gives careful consideration to making all the details consistent with the existing woodwork. The end result is quite beautiful and really does look like a place for reading and thinking. Bryce tries hard to work with what you have, rather than demanding that you discard all your current furniture and start anew. He is happy to suggest improvements in furniture arrangement even for rooms he is not working in. Bryce is meticulous. He inspects the work carefully and asks us do the same. Then he asks the crafts people to correct even the tiniest errors. He seems to have an excellent relationship with these people so they seem happy to comply with his requests. He works in close collaboration with all the crafts people and organizes the job. The customer never has to worry about who will do what first and when they will do it. We have also asked Bryce to remodel a bathroom. When we discussed this project, it became clear that he knows a lot about structure; he carefully considers what will seem possible to the cabinet maker, plumber, tile setter, and electrician, to name a few. Bryce’s prices are very reasonable. He makes it clear what is included in each bid, so that there are no surprises. Bryce’s own fees are very fair. He charges by the hour, not a percentage of the cost. So he has no incentive to pad the costs. Don't worry if your project isn't huge. Bryce will give you careful attention whether you are decorating one room or designing an entire house. Bryce is a wonderful designer. He will not disappoint.

I could not of asked for a better design service! We lost our home to a flood last year and hired Amato Design (Bryce) to help us put it all back together. The final result is a hundred times better than I ever expected. From the color scheme on the walls to the placement of my knick knacks, he creates the perfect home that is an extension of yourself. In 2013, Bryce helped my husband and me remodel a 1700 sq foot condo. He read us perfectly and the result was beautiful. He helped us with indoor and outdoor projects, finishes, appliances, furniture and decor. He is easy to work with and our contractor agreed. Bryce is flexible, creative and fun. Bryce Amato is as excellent a designer as you could possibly imagine. Not that you need an imagination to work with Bryce, he possesses enough vision to cover for all of us! Bryce is a very creative and talented individual. He forumulated a whole house plan for our home and suddenly our financial situtation changed. Bryce easily whiched to a room by room keeping us on track and budget. He also is able to work with very diffcult people with the greatest of ease which makes him a special person. My family and I have enjoyed a home rich with warm and muted colors, detailed wood finishes, and interesting architectural design and detail because of the work of Bryce Amato. When I hired Bryce, the framing of my home had just been completed. During his initial walk-thru, Bryce identified a dozen design changes, from increasing door heights, to creating arched entrances, to re-designing fireplace enclosures, to changing outside decks to terraces, that made our home uniquely appealing, at modest increases in cost. One example: The original design contemplated a covered deck off of our second story family room. Bryce changed the deck to a terrace, added a two-way fireplace between the terrace and the family room. We have an exterior living space with outdoor draperies that our family and friends love. Bryce is creative, but practical, and possesses a deep understanding of construction. Bryce is simply amazing - great to work with on top of his talent for unique design. He renders a place new and magical within the constraints (and budget!) he has to work within. I think Bryce is a design genius. If you want someone who will regurgitate traditional "safe" design that looks like everyone else Bryce is not the designer for you. However -if you are willing to work with someone who has an uncanny sense of style,color and design and and you want to come home to a place that you totally love Bryce is your man. He was a pleasure to work with at all times. We will use him again.
