About Us

Candelaria Design Associates is a premier Scottsdale, AZ based architecture firm specializing in custom residential and boutique design. Founded in August of 1999 by architect Mark Candelaria, today he and his three partners Meredith Thomson, Tim Mathewson and Evelyn Jung lead the firm. Founded on the principle that the design process should be a collaborative venture, the Candelaria Design team works closely with their clients, design team and vendors from start to finish. While most of our projects are located in Arizona, today we have homes built across the country and even worldwide! In addition to architecture, Candelaria Design hosts annual tours to Italy and Spain and recently an Oregon Wine Tour. Mark loves to cook for his clients in their completed homes or in their office’s showroom kitchen, and the whole team is actively involved in designing facilities for various charities and giving back to the community through service time and serving on Boards. Mark also has a monthly podcast "Inspiring Living with Mark Candelaria" where he speaks with inspiring people about their careers and life stories and has a coffee table book featuring 12 pivotal projects each paired with one of his recipes.

I've worked with Mark on multiple projects now and have never been disappointed. He is unique in his field in that through his works his reputation proceeds him and people fall in love with his eye for detail and design long before they even start contemplating who their builder or Interior Designer will be.
