Absolutely wonderful experience here! Both Eric and Jason were top notch throughout. We were having a 2nd kid, needed extra space, so decided to add a bedroom to our house. They worked with us on a good design and what reasonable options were for our price range. Construction went smoothly. Even when there were a couple unforeseen curveballs (and us changing our minds), they took care of us to get us the end result we wanted. We appreciate their good communication throughout. Again, overall, we had a wonderful experience and fully recommend Cantu!

Eric Cantu Remodeling was the best choice we could have made. Jason and his crews did amazing work, so much so that we decided to increase the original scope. We had new wood floors installed throughout the home (with a custom design at the entry that matched the fireplace), added a large walk-in pantry, painted several rooms, remodeled one bath and converted a bar area to a powder bath. Every little detail was taken care of, and we are so happy with the results! Fantastic communication throughout. We interviewed six different firms for this job before choosing Eric - next time we will definitely use Eric's team again without hesitation.

I’ve done an entire renovation with another contractor, and by far I’d recommend using Eric Cantu over and over. Things that stuck out to me that made it worth the price tag: -a project manager never changes on you and he checks in on your project daily -the crew that is at your house is consistent, clean, and not creepy (as a woman who works from home alone I sincerely appreciated this!) -budgeted costs include price of materials. Every line item is budgeted and is realistic -expertise of the subcontractors they use are top notch and readily available; no time delays (we were only without water for one afternoon when they installed the tankless water heater!) -any extras they purchased they will return for you and give you a credit back on your contract -I always knew if we were asking for something over the budget, and we were NEVER pressured one way or the other; we were given information and pros/cons Get this: we finished on budget (plus the overages I knew about) AND on time! Seriously, I’ve never heard of this before. If you have the chance to work with Eric and his team, don’t second guess. Also, he knows the Lakewood/Lake Highlands/Preston Hollow area SO WELL (I got his name from our realtor Beth Rider). Phenomenal work and will gladly use him again if and when we decide to build a second story (we used him for a laundry, bedroom, and bathroom renovation).

I had a major flood in 2021 and added 3 additional bath remodels to the repair work. They covered all the details, worked seamlessly with my decorator and made an overwhelming project, very manageable. Eric Cantu Construction was a delight to work with for my kitchen renovation, on a 50 year old house. This was no simple cabinet and counter replacement, this was far more. Eric as well as his staff are extremely knowledgeable of the work and processes to get the job done. They are contentious and patient with us every step of the way. His bid was concise and complete and he was able to stick with it, and keep us inside the agreed budget, which was a relief as we neared the end of the project, which made for easier sleep at night. His staff members are clearly committed to doing the job right the first time, with competent skills. Our kitchen looks fantastic with beautiful details. He has transformed our kitchen into a place you would expect to see in the most expensive homes on Park Avenue! We recommend and completely endorse Eric Cantu Construction and will use them again for our bathroom projects. We had a great experience with Eric. He kept us on budget, walked through all aspects of design, and was always easy to reach. His designer and crew are top notch, very attentive to detail. We had a very specific idea for our design and they worked with it to perfection.

Eric is professional and very easy to work with. From the first meeting and consultation, we had the feeling that he would go out of his way to stream-line the process. He uses text, email, phone, and face-to-face meetings to convey construction schedules, access requirements, changes and updates. Overall, great job.

My fiancé and I decided that we wanted to give the house an upgrade prior to getting married so we hired Eric to remodel the kitchen, overhaul the bedroom and fix a couple of other areas in the house that needed attention:) They did a fantastic job, were very respectful of the fact we were still living there and were very hands on about handling any issues that came up. I'm very pleased with the outcome and will definitely hire him again to finish the rest of the house! His whole team from Virginia who was most helpful in providing me options and Sergio who was always there were great to work with. One of the things I was the most impressed about was the fact that they were really good to clean up after every days work - when you're having the "popcorn ceiling" removed it's a mess but they did a really good job of keeping it as clean as they could. I would definitely recommend him!

We did a complete remodel on our 4 bed/3 bath home, with the addition of one full bath. Overall, we had a great experience working with Eric. He was very responsive throughout the entire process and never gave us a reason not to trust that he had our best interest at heart. My husband and I had both been through remodel projects in the past so we knew what to expect, but Eric and his staff made the experience much better than we anticipated. With any construction, things are bound to go wrong, but Eric was very quick to remedy any/all issues that arose during the project - which I can say is rare to find in a contractor. As far as price goes, Eric did a really good job of staying within budget. We shopped around before making our decision to work with Eric, and he was the only one to provide the level of detail for pricing that we required. He isn't the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive either. For the quality of work that he and his team perform, the cost is more than reasonable. In addition, Eric has a team of guys that work specifically for him, so we were able to see familiar faces throughout the project. It can be unsettling to have strangers in your home but Eric's crew was friendly, polite and very respectful. There were many subcontractors that came in and out but Eric's guys were always there to make sure things were taken care of during or after the work. There are only a couple of things we may caution on: if you have a specific vendor or company you want to work with (i.e. cabinets, flooring, etc.) make sure you discuss that with Eric before you sign the contract. He is more than likely to be agreeable, but the costs that he budgets for are with the vendors he has relationships with / uses for most projects so it is difficult to switch mid-project. To be clear, we weren't unhappy with any of the vendors he chose/prefers, just a word of advice. The only other thing we may mention is to pay attention to the material vs. labor costs that are built into the budget. Eric makes these distinctions but it's not super clear on some of the line items (i.e. countertops, etc.). He was helpful to point them out/explain when we asked, but something to pay attention to if you have specific items in mind. If we were ever to remodel another home we would consider using Eric again for the project, and would recommend him to family or friends that are remodeling a home. He is true to his word and very reliable. We are very happy with the end result and are grateful to Eric and his team for the hard work and attention they paid to our home.

We hired Eric to remodel a bathroom in out older East Dallas home. We ended up gutting the entire bathroom and removing a closet to make the room bigger. Eric was very flexible in adjusting the plans to incorporate our style and dealing with the hiccups that inevitably come with an older home (old plumbing, rotten joists, etc...) He was able to replace all of that and give us a beautiful bathroom too. We are especially pleased with the custom cabinet that they built. They were responsive to questions and concerns and very good about cleaning up at the end of each day. The project was done on time and on budget.

I hired Eric Cantu to completely gut a small bathroom in a 1939 east Dallas home. He also replaced floor joists, re-painted some areas, fixed walls, and installed a huge 9 foot sliding door which required lots of demo work. Easy to get a hold of, fast answers, and the crew are a bunch of nice guys. No horror stories about a contractor here.. Definitely recommend!

We used Eric for our recent kitchen remodel and also refinished/installed new hardwood floors in our living and dining space. We were able to work quickly and efficiently with all of his staff to design the kitchen and get started right away. They quoted us 8 weeks for the project from start to finish. We had never been involved in a project like this and everyone we spoke to who had undergone a kitchen remodel told us to expect delays. We were thrilled when the project ended on time and turned out beautifully! Our experience with Eric and his team was great!

We interviewed 3 General Contractors to bid on our kitchen/den remodel. Eric was a standout which made a scary decision much easier. He and his team did a complete renovation on our outdated kitchen and removed a dividing wall to our den to open up the entire space. Not only did he come in on budget but was also on time! He has a team that are very skilled and we always felt comfortable having them in our home. We were so pleased with the entire kitchen project that we called Eric back a year later to gut our master bathroom and renovate it as well. We've just finished that project and couldn't be happier. The results are amazing and Eric and his team are as well.

After discovering a leak from plumbing and some resulting wood rot in our master bathroom, we decided to proceed with a remodel of the entire space. After gutting substantially the entire space, including removing a whirlpool bath, walk-in shower, cabinet countertops, wallpaper and tile flooring, it was pretty much an empty room. We installed a custom frameless shower with new shower fixtures, including body sprays and rain shower and new overhead lighting. We had a custom cabinet with bench seat installed that was designed to match the existing cabinet design features so that it looks as if both cabinets were installed at the same time. New granite countertops, sinks, toilet, faucets and matching hardware were installed as well. We worked closely with his designer, Virginia, who guided us through the selection of plumbing fixtures, tile, wallpaper, accessories, paint and granite. Virginia was excellent, highly skilled and key to pulling the entire look together, including decisions on every design feature from the height of bench seats, to the width of the dressing mirror. Virginia made sure our design was properly communicated and carried out by suppliers and the construction crew. The cost and time frame quoted by Eric was accurate. There were no surprises with the job and at the end, we were 100% satisfied. We would definitely hire Eric Cantu Construction again and comfortably recommend them to our friends.

We hired Eric Cantu and Virginia Krejci to handle 3 projects in our home- Countertop replacement in the kitchen and bar area, adding a fireplace in the master bedroom and turning a Jack & Jill bathroom into 2 separate bathrooms. Eric provided a detailed plan and on day 1 his crew put our minds at ease as they covered the floors and tarps to contain the dust. We felt comfortable with the crew coming into our home everyday and trusted them completely. Eric was receptive to my many changes and questions throughout the process. Now that the project is finished we couldn't be happier with the end result. We'll be using Eric for the master bathroom remodel next year. We recommend Eric Cantu Construction for any project.

We met with several construction companies to obtain bids for a remodel of our out of date kitchen. We had ideas and a proposed plan from an architect, which was a helpful start. After meeting with Eric, it was immediately obvious that his company was the right choice for us. Eric is personable, knowledgeable and put us at ease as we faced a significant remodel project for the first time. The pricing was in line with the market and it was well worth the investment. Eric communicates well and let us know what to expect and when. His crew showed up the first day and we were amazed at how quickly they gutted the kitchen. Throughout the process, Eric and Virginia (project manager/designer) were there every step of the way to give us ideas and guidance on the numerous decisions we needed to make. When there were concerns or questions, it was easy to contact them and talk it through. Virginia's designer background and ideas were beyond helpful and she is fun to work with as well. I can't say enough good things about both Eric and Virginia. The other reason that our project went so well and why the end result is an amazing kitchen is Eric's crew. It is not always comfortable to have strangers in your house every day for 9 weeks, but every person on his team was friendly, respectful and a pleasure to be around. I work from home and saw these people practically every day. They went above and beyond on a regular basis and we will definitely use them again soon to remodel bathrooms. I recommend Eric Cantu Construction without hesitation and look forward to working with them again.

My wife and I were very nervous about hiring a contractor to work on our newly purchased home. We have heard so many horror stories, so we did our research and got a few quotes from only reputable contractors in the Dallas area. Our remodel involved removing some load bearing walls, redoing our whole kitchen, adding all wood floors on our first level, and a number of other things. Price was important to us, but regardless we felt the most comfortable in our meeting with Eric, and decided to go with him. And we were extremely happy that we did. He and his guys did an amazing job on our house! We were looking for someone who was going to do everything the right way, and be accessible to us when we needed them. And we were willing to pay more for it. The fortunate thing is, we did not have to. The job exceeded our expectations, and Eric did not nickel and dime us when minor things arose, which speaks to their positive attitude about the work. We will without a doubt be calling Eric again when we are ready to do our upstairs.

We have worked with several contractors over the years, but none come close in comparison with the ease, timeliness, professionalism, friendliness, and quality he and his team delivered. Every job has its own set of unexpected events, and ours was no different. He handled them perfectly and we appreciated it. We hope to work with him again remodel our master bath and office!

Eric and his team were great! From the beginning, he talked through every detail. They were very flexible in working with my hectic schedule. I was out of the country for work for 2.5 weeks, and I could not have felt more comfortable with Eric and his team working on my kitchen and bath. They took images and emailed them to me while I was gone, and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was just as I wanted. He also kept true to the originally quoted price, which was great and quite shocking to me. This was my first remodel, and you always hear horror stories of paying way more than you expected. I am beyond pleased with the work Eric and his team accomplished!

First time I met Eric Cantu was about 2 or 3 years ago. I wanted to have my master bathroom remodeled because it was so tiny. From the first time I met him, he was easy to talk to and listened to all of my concerns. He provided me with multiple options that fit within my budget at the time. Unfortunately, what I could afford to have done, and what I really wanted to see in my home, were two very different things. I just didn't have enough money in the budget. I thanked Eric for his help, but told him I just couldn't afford a remodel at that time. Fast forward to earlier this year, when I contacted Eric Cantu Construction again. He was one of only two contractors I called back to get a new estimate for this new-and-improved bathroom project, which was larger in scope and budget. He came out to my house once again, bringing his interior designer, Virginia Krejci, and we discussed my ideas for remodeling both existing bathrooms in my home. They were knowledgable about what could and could not be done and insightful with ideas that could bring added usefulness and value to my new bathrooms. His cost estimate was similar to three others I'd received, however the rapport I had with Eric and Virginia definitely tipped the scales in their favor. My project was scheduled to start on August 4th, however, due to an unforeseen delay on another of his projects, Eric asked if he could move my date up to July 25th. When do you ever hear of construction projects starting early? I was ecstatic. After showing his crew around my house and explaining the project, they quickly got to work protecting the existing parts of my home that were not included in the project: laying paper and fiberboard down to protect the hardwood floors, taping off with plastic sheeting all of the rooms and closets to keep out as much dust as possible. The crew was incredibly respectful of my home and belongings. Once the project got underway, the crew was quick and efficient. Every time I stopped by to see how things were going, they always paused for a few minutes to show me what they'd done and how things were going. The crew frequently asked questions about the 'little' things (how high do you want the light switches? Vertical or horizontal orientation on the drawer pulls? Where would you like the toilet paper holder and towel bar?) just to be sure whatever they were working on would meet with my approval. Eric and Virginia also stopped by frequently to check on the progress. It was nice to know that there was more than one set of eyes on the project making sure it was going according to plan. There were a few minor delays in the project--some were my fault (I ordered the plumbing supplies a few days too late), some were out of our control (the tile was on backorder), but Eric always handled them gracefully. If there was nothing to do, he would reallocate his workers elsewhere; but when the delayed items were available, he always sent some of his guys to continue on at my house. The ability to adapt to those inevitable changes in construction projects is really key. Although not at all Eric's fault, one of the bigger delays on my project came from a window that needed to be replaced. I had ordered the window from a company that I had used before, but it was made incorrectly. The outside dimensions of the window were correct, so technically it was usable in the space, but it wouldn't have matched the other windows in my home. Instead of pressing me to use the incorrect window just to hurry and continue on with the project, Eric encouraged me to order the window I wanted--even though that would mean a 10 day wait for the new one. He was more concerned with me being happy with the final product, than he was with the schedule of the project. I appreciate that he was an advocate of having things done right, even at the expense of his project schedule. Towards the end of the project, Eric and Virginia encouraged me to take a roll of blue painters tape and mark all of those 'little' things that I'd see that I thought needed to be fixed--a little hole in the wood, a paint/stain touchup, a crooked mirror attachment, a missed spot with the grout, etc. Every time the crew would come back to work, they addressed all of my 'blue tape' marks. Thanks to Eric Cantu Construction and his team, my first remodeling project was a success in every way. He came in on budget with a finished product that is well built and looks great. And he offers a 1 year warranty in craftsmanship to boot! Couldn't have asked for more! I would definitely hire Eric Cantu for any future construction projects!

Eric and his team completely transformed our kitchen into an updated, more functional, elegant space that we are throughly enjoying. His was one of four bids we received - his job price was competitive and all references reiterated his ability to stay on budget with no surprises. He did not disappoint! Eric communicated with us frequently to ensure we were aware of the project and budget status. Our first major home remodeling project was a success thanks to Cantu Construction. We hired Cantu Construction to remodel our kitchen. They demolished and replaced our kitchen floor, countertop, and backsplash, primed and painted our cabinets and installed new cabinet hardware, and removed our old appliances and installed new ones. It was a pleasure to work with Eric and his crews. Eric was professional and patient from day one. He was easy to reach when we had questions and always responded promptly. Eric’s crews did excellent work and cleaned up at the end of each day. I was present throughout much of the project and felt very comfortable with them in my home. Eric’s designer Virginia was very nice and gave us the guidance that we needed when we were selecting our materials. We hired Eric to remodel our kitchen. We selected him because he stood out in the bidding process by listening to what we were interested in doing, what our budget was and provided a detailed quote with each major body of work line itemized (cabinets, appliances, electrical, etc). Given that we were new to hiring contractors this helped enormously in deciding who to go with. Once the project started I always felt like the partnership with Eric was just that. It is a very collaborative experience. He will talk through any issues that arise and provide alternatives and suggestions but always keeping budget and time in mind. Eric is very responsive – always answering the phone or calling right back and the team always shows up when they say they will. He and his team have a real eye for detail and do excellent finishing work. I feel as they treat a project as though they are working in their own home. When we started this project we were nervous about finding a good contractor. I really can’t recommend Eric and his team enough. You will not be sorry if you hire them.

We bid our project out to three different GC's. The total costs were very similar from all three, but the detail in Eric's quote was easier for us to work with and allowed us to go item by item to either work in more or less remodeling to match our budget so Eric won the bid. This may backfire on some folks as my wife decided we would save some money by doing some of the demo and when I say we, I mean me. Eric was easy to work with when updating quote based on the work I was able to complete. Once my wife decided I had worked enough, she allowed Eric's crew to take over. Eric and his team made themselves available to help us shop for the various hardware, countertops, door styles, flooring, and all of those other painful decision you get to make when undergoing a remodel which was a great help (especially for a wife that can't make decisions and a husband with no taste). When it was time to actually start the process, Eric's teams were polite and quick, which was very nice since my wife works from home and we were living in the home while the work was going on (I would plan to stay at a hotel for a night or two when they paint cabinets though). Eric was easy to reach and quick to respond to questions or issues and would proactively send out weekly notices of what we could expect to happen in the upcoming week. The follow up work was easy as my wife and I would review the work and let Eric now if anything needed to be addressed/corrected. The re-work was never questioned or fought over. Eric’s team would just show up and address whatever issue we had. I believe we even talked him into some additional minor items in the form of additional lights at no cost in this stage, but don’t tell Eric I told you that. All in all, living at home during a large scale remodel is not fun, but Eric and team definitely made it easier. It is also nice to know that all work comes with a year warranty.

I just finished a fairly extensive remodel with Eric and his crew and I would like to unreservedly recommend them to anyone considering a remodel in the area. I own an older craftsman in the knox-henderson area. The house was originally a 3/1 and I wanted to add a bathroom. The plan that my architect drew up called for pretty extensive demolition and I was pretty apprehensive at the beginning. I met with several contractors in the area and what really impressed me about Eric was his friendly personality. This is my first home and I came into the process pretty green. Eric immediately put me at ease and really made me feel comfortable with the whole process. Eric was very present throughout the process and was almost immediately available at all times by text or email. He really walked me through the process and let me know what to expect on a daily basis. Eric also has an interior designer who is very helpful and really assisted me on the finer points of the project. Eric definitely stuck to budget and the estimate was spot on. One of the best parts of the job that they did was how fast they did it. I had several estimates on time that would go up to 12 wks. Eric quoted me 10-12, but the project was essentially finished in 8. The quality of the work is top notch. Eric has very high standards and holds all the people that he works with to the same. I really can't think of a negative thing to say about the experience, highly recommend!

We hired Eric to renovate our kitchen space. The remodel included a bath and living area as well. The amazing results exceeded our expectations! We already had a general plan of what we wanted to do, and he executed it on time and on budget. His designer, Virginia Krejci, helped us layout the space and planned all the details. His interpersonal skills are very good when it comes to dealing with problems. My husband is extremely detail oriented and inspected the work daily. Any time there was a concern, Eric was right there to listen and address it. We are very happy in our new kitchen space. I would highly recommend Eric Cantu Construction for your home renovation.

Eric and his team did a great job on our house. We remodeled a master bath and master bedroom. Our house was challenging to say the least with lots of "surprises" behind the walls. He and his team handled all the challenges wonderfully. As first time remodelers it was great to have a patient and guiding hand in helping us through our project.

We hired Eric to do a full renovation of our master bathroom and are beyond thrilled with the results! The remodel took about six weeks and included a complete demo of the existing space, plumbing, electrical, framing, tile, cabinetry, fixtures, etc. - the whole works. Throughout the project duration Eric was always available to answer questions by phone, text, and email (and I admit I can be pretty demanding when it comes to communication and response time). He was great at keeping us updated re status, concerns, delays, etc. I was very pleased with how responsive and available he was, including on some minor follow up items afterwards. Eric's entire crew was great; they were professional and kept the area as clean as possible, taking extra care to protect our hardwood floors and belongings. We were particularly impressed with the crew leader, Michael, who obviously knows what he's doing and cares that the work is done RIGHT. Eric also has an interior designer and photographer on his team, and both of these ladies were wonderful and so helpful. They had several great ideas that we implemented in our new space. Our project came in slightly above budget, but that was only due to some changes/upgrades my husband and I made after the initial bid. Eric always did a good job explaining the different options and how things would impact cost. We really appreciated how cognizant he was of our budget and how he took care to make sure we were all on the same page. For the one small hiccup we experienced (a plumbing issue that was impossible to predict beforehand), Eric went above and beyond to make sure it was addressed to our satisfaction. While having construction done in your home isn't exactly most people's idea of a fun time, we truly felt that Eric and his team did everything they could to make it as painless as possible. It was obvious from the start that he sincerely wants his clients to be happy with the results. We would absolutely hire Eric again.

I've photographed several properties for Eric Cantu Construction for before and after images. His work speaks for itself. He's obviously incredibly talented and has an eye for turning a room, a home or a commercial project into a work of art. What I think people should know is what his customers say about him once the job is done. Things like: - He's very kind and trustworthy. - I was comfortable leaving his crew in my home while I wasn't there. - There was a hiccup during the construction process and he handled it flawlessly and calmly. - There was never a time I wasn't able to reach him personally to ask questions. - His interior designer offered suggestions that I would've never thought of...and they turned out to be our favorite part of the room. The list goes on and on. Eric is very talented and has a great team helping to make each project a major success.

Eric is a very unique contractor. He is the kind of guy you want to have dinner with after the job is complete. He is very budget conscious, pays attention to time frame and all the many details that go into a remodel. His crew is very tidy and very respectful of your space. They understand having contractors and subs in your house is very invasive. They do all they can to clean up and finish the job on time. Very nice company!
