She came over and we jammed on ideas for two hours—covering so much ground in that time. Jennifer assisted me with a full service design project. My goal was to update the living room and dining room in my Park Slope brownstone. We reupholstered some of my pieces and purchased new chairs, carpets, lighting, window treatments, and accessories. Jennifer learned my “style” and offered me choices that fit that style. If I needed more choices, Jennifer provided more choices. Jennifer also helped me select paint colors for my walls and ceilings. The end result is that my parlor level is light and welcoming. I am so pleased and also delighted with the decision to paint my dining room ceiling a dark color. I would never have thought to put a dark color on the ceiling but the result is fabulous. Jennifer is easy to work with, communicates effectively and made the whole process painless. She gently nudged me back on the path of sanity when I was going astray. I highly recommend her and will be utilizing her services again when I am ready to tackle my second floor.

Jennifer is a pleasure to work with and made our house feel like a home. She creatively decorated our 3 kids’ rooms (wallpaper, furniture, etc), to match each of their personalities. Jennifer also turned our living room into an elegant space, helping us select all the furniture and artwork. She also has excellent relationships with various contractors who can assist with everything from wallpaper to electrical work to millwork. We are at the tail end of our project and very pleased with the results.

We worked with Jennifer on a Full-Service design project, and it was a fantastic experience. Our apartment was a blank slate, new construction without a ton of character, and she injected so much vitality into the space. She had really creative ideas for design that also took into account the best use for the (limited) space. Jennifer really listened to our preferences and gave us choices that both met our specifications and offered a different perspective, so we could stretch outside our comfort zone when we wanted to (but we never felt pressured to). She was also great with our teenage daughter in helping to design her room. Every room in our new home looks and feels far better because of Jennifer. I'd hire her again without hesitation.

I had a lovely phone consultation with Jennifer for a small apartment renovation. It was a very productive call, and she offered a plethora of creative ideas, especially for those typical challenges that often befall a New York City apartment--the lack of storage space! I recommend her highly, even if it is for just a consultation.

Jen was absolutely fantastic to work with! I was struggling to give my living room a warm “at home” energy once I started working remote. With a Zoom consulting session and a couple follow-up coaching calls, she was able to help me determine elements and colors that inspired me and perfected my space. We used her object memory exercise which helped me really be intentional when purchasing and I now feel like I have a template to use for future purchases. Highly recommend!!

Jen was the ultimate professional and guided us through our home renovation every step of the way. She provided multiple options for every room for everything from flooring to paint to furniture she was always there to guide us while also allowing us to make our own decisions. We travel for work constantly and needed someone we could trust in our home to manage the project whenever we were away and now we love our Brooklyn sanctuary that she helped to create.

We hired Jen to help us combine & decorate 2 apartments. She worked with our architect to come up with a great floorplan - opening up a closed-off galley kitchen, turning an extra-wide hallway into a series of storage closets, converting a 2nd kitchen into a master bath - that really met our needs, and made great use of some awkward spaces. She made the process of choosing tiles, fixtures, appliances, paint colors, etc manageable by presenting us with a few options for each one, and taking our feedback into account. During construction, she worked closely with our contractor to manage any supply chain hiccups that came up. When site conditions forced us to change our plans for a combination powder room/laundry room, she was quick to come up with a few alternate options. This was a major project, and as first-time homeowners, we leaned on Jen's expertise a lot throughout the renovation process. I hope to be in this apartment forever, but if we ever find ourselves moving & needing to do another renovation - I'd hire Jen in a heartbeat.

After months of feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward in decorating my apartment, I contacted CAVdesign and worked with Jennifer Levy. I couldn't be happier with the results. After a three hour consultation, Jennifer provided me with the framework I needed to move forward in selecting the right furniture and conceptualizing the look and feel of my space. We discussed which pieces to keep, how I wanted to feel in my surroundings, and how I use my apartment day to day (for example, the TV must stay). Afterwards, she created a design package for me detailing her thoughts on furniture placement, size, proportion, and style. She also provided a list of vendors that most match my style and other design tips mined from her years of experience. Most importantly, we discussed design elements I had never thought of or were scared to try - following her advice to explore options outside of my comfort zone has contributed to a well thought out, original space. Jennifer provided the advice while I sourced and purchased items. Her guidance was the push I needed to actually make decisions and feel confident in my purchases. I’ve had a wonderful experience working with Jennifer to spruce up our Brooklyn townhouse. She’s a lovely person to work with and has a terrific eye for colors and details. With her help we were able to really transform our space. She helped bring modern and lively elements into the traditional existing architecture in our home. In our living room she designed an elegant yet cozy and inviting space, created custom storage and helped us pick out fantastic accessories that really bring everything together. She helped us pick gorgeous window treatments as well as beautiful paint colors in several different rooms that really brightened up our home. Jennifer is attentive, organized, creative, tech-savvy and we’ve been able to do quite a bit of work virtually. Most recently during the shutdown, we met via videoconference to pick out some accessories. It worked quite well! Whether you need help with large or small projects, I highly recommend working with Jennifer!

Jen was extremely attentive and fulfilled our needs for a designer to a tee. Our project was unconventional in several ways, and Jen was accommodating while maintaining her own process, and communicating that along the way. We trusted her taste from the get-go and have not been disappointed. We just finished up a project with Jennifer in Park Slope and she was a real pleasure to work with. As a G.C. you need the products supplied by the owner or the Designer on site to keep the flow of the project. Jennifer made sure everything showed up when we needed it. Working with Jen was an absolute pleasure. I wanted to pull together our living room -- we'd been in our apartment for four years, but it still looked like we'd just moved in -- and Jen immediately understood the look I was going for. She also did a terrific job of staying within my admittedly small budget. On top of it all, she's just a lovely person in general. I can't recommend her highly enough.

We hired Jennifer from CAVdesign to work as our independent designer during our apartment renovation earlier this year. While we had also hired a general contractor, we wanted a designer to help us with overall layout decisions, design decisions (e.g. wall colors, furniture, lighting), and act as our advocate when working with the GC. Jennifer was very helpful during the process and we were pleased with the outcome. She made creative recommendations and helped us get the most out of our budget. She also connected us with a contractor who did some top notch custom millwork. Jennifer's process focused on creating "boards" for each room with various design choices. Working with our style, budget, and existing furniture, she helped create a cohesive look for each room. She was also able to create 3-D renderings which helped to visualize the outcome. As with most contractors and designers, I recommend keeping a detailed track of the budget and the "burn" on a weekly basis. Towards the end of our project, we ran out of budget for Jennifer based on the initial estimate, so she was unavailable to help with a few final items. However, the work she did upfront took care of all major decisions and she did put in some of her own time as an investment to ensure we were happy with the final result. Given this was our first experience with a renovation and using a professional designer, we can highly recommend Jennifer and CAVdesign.

Jennifer just did an amazing renovation in our Brooklyn brownstone. We redid the kitchen and the deck. She helped us have a functional space with more light and beautiful cabinetry. Very easy to work with, straight to the point, friendly and doesn't waste your time. We highly recommend her!

I had been dithering about my kitchen renovation for over a year, and was really at a loss for where to start. I was so glad to find Jennifer: she listened to what I wanted, took my budget seriously, and helped me choose materials and plan a layout that worked within the confines of what my building would allow, but that made the small space so much more functional! She helped me plan a new layout for my living room and foyer also, and oversaw the construction (after bringing me an amazing contractor). As with any large project, there were snags, but despite that we finished within a few days of the original schedule, which was very important to us. I am hoping to use her again for my next project, which I think is the highest compliment you can pay a professional like Jennifer.

I met Jen from CAVdesign 6 years ago and we have done numerous projects together. She has a keen eye for design and makes great use of any space. Our projects together include full gut interior renovations, kitchens and baths. Jen is a pleasure to work with and makes the design build process simple.

Jen was amazing from start to finish. I was so impressed from day one - she was incredibly fast and always communicative. She also helped me achieve several of my budget breaking ideas for a fraction of the cost - her work paid for itself in that sense. I was also really surprised (in a great way) of how much she knew about all the technical aspects during a gut renovation - electrical, plumbing, the physics of building. She managed the job and the contractor all the way through the last details, and my apartment couldn't be better!

I bought a Brooklyn brownstone that needed a lot of work, both cosmetic and infrastructure. I live in Houston, which made the prospect of dealing with vendors problematic. Jennifer had all the right contacts, and managed to project to get it done in the most efficient manner, with high-quality results. Her design skills are outstanding, and our building shines like the beauty it was to begin with.

I initially hired CAVdesign to help me spruce up my Brooklyn home, including selecting new lighting, accessories, and artwork. I liked working with Jennifer so much that I asked for her help with our weekend home in Woodstock, NY. She designed our three bathrooms, and advised me on furniture as well. We are very happy with the house which looks so clean, natural, and beautiful. She’s very efficient with her time and keeps an eye on the budget. The 3-D drawings and idea boards she provided were really helpful in making selections. When we decided to purchase a home in Spain, she was even able to consult on the plan, providing some great ideas and a furniture arrangement using the architect's drawings. Jennifer has a great personality, super nice, honest, fun to talk to! She is also very direct and doesn't waste your time. I would hire her again without hesitation!

Jennifer has helped us on numerous projects. In the very beginning Jennifer was basically hired as a designer/marriage counselor as my husband and I had a difficult time agreeing on colors and designs. She has impeccable taste and a sense for the space as well. Our first consultation was a easy, insightful and productive. She was able to help my husband visualize the space and explain how color could be brought in with pillows, artwork, etc. The space came out absolutely beautiful! Since then, we have worked with Jennifer on a few more projects. Our Brooklyn project took place in 2014 when we purchased a brownstone that was recently redone but not in our style. Jennifer helped us see where we could make minor adjustments to make the place more modern and fully designed/managed the Master Suite renovation. It was a major task as the blueprint was large with a very big bedroom, yet the bathroom and closet space was tiny. She helped us redesign the entire space while working with pretty opinionated contractors (which we hired) and she was up for the task. At the end of the project, we got the most gorgeous master bathroom with a his and hers closets without compromising the bedroom space. I truly got the closet of my dreams without braking the bank as Jennifer helped us design it through IKEA and saved thousands of dollars. A recent project involved a consultation on the condo in Florida. At this point Jennifer knows my taste and can easily send some ideas my way in terms of decor and design. We had also hired a local designer, but I still looked to Jennifer for inspiration and ideas. So, weather you need quick consultation or help with a big project, Jennifer is capable of tackling it all. She is always on top of things and extremely knowledgeable in the world of design. Absolutely a pleasure to work with and can't wait to use her in our future projects!

We worked with Jennifer on two projects, first on an open living/dining/office revamp, including furniture selection, custom built-in bookcases and drop-down desk, fireplace re-facade, window coverings, floor refinishing, color selection, and new lighting, as well as two bathroom renovations. I'd never remodeled before, so I was glad to have Jennifer's expertise! She guided us through every step with great choices and advice. Obviously we were pleased, because we hired her again to help us replace a steep, metal spiral staircase in our duplex with something more functional and attractive. The result was beautiful and much more useful of the space! Jennifer kept storage space in mind, creating great closets above and below the staircase. I have no doubt that the renovations we completed with Jennifer helped eventually sell our apartment for a great price. I love Jennifer's willingness to get creative and solve problems, in addition to her great taste and easy personality. I'm trying out her video course now as I furnish a new construction home!

We moved into a new apartment three times the size of our old one, and we had no idea what to do! Even more challenging, my husband and I have really different design preferences, and we didn't know how to combine our different tastes. CAVdesign saved the day and helped us to create a space that feels warm and inviting, a place we are proud to call our home, a place we both feel represents us and our tastes. Jennifer was extremely patient, flexible with times to meet, and really kept our budget in mind. She also handled all the little things, from getting a handyman to hang hooks to dealing with the curtains, so all we had to do was say if we liked something or not (her 3-d renderings are incredibly helpful for those of us who can't visualize how something might fit into a space), and then magically she would make it happen. She even custom-designed furniture for us, creating a lovely bedroom set that is truly one-of-a-kind and fits perfectly into our space! I couldn't recommend Jen and CAVdesign more highly. She is easy to work with, creates beautiful spaces, and really puts her clients first. When we are ready to tackle another project, we'll definitely be calling her again!

We needed help bringing soul into our new construction apartment and we hired Jennifer to help us. Jennifer did a great job presenting us with options and and an overall vision as well as helping us execute all aspects of the project. In particular, Jennifer works with a great team of vendors that were highly professional and she was able to communicate with the team in a way that saved us a lot of time and effort. We are thrilled with the final result and now feel that our home has a cohesive look and is a warm and inviting environment for our family and guests.

We needed furniture lay-out, custom furniture design and paint color consultation for our home in the Hamptons. Jennifer was a star! She created super-helpful 3-D renderings of our rooms, and helped source fantastic furniture within our budget. Jennifer was also an angel when it came to working with (and helping to manage) our contractor.
