Celeste Lewis Architecture

We hired Celeste to help us with a major remodel of our home in April 2015. In our first meeting we knew she was the kind of architect we needed. She listened to our plans and ideas. She groomed the good ideas, gave us frank feed back on the bad ideas, and presented many solutions that we had not conceived. She's extremely knowledgable and thorough. No major project goes smoothly. Celeste was engaged throughout to ensure that every issue was resolved.

Celeste Lewis blends aesthetic talent with mathematical smarts to help make your dream home a reality. I marvel at how a beautiful design on paper led to our beautifully remodeled home. Celeste listened attentively to my wife and I during the design phase, and she exhibited a "can-do" attitude during our weekly "Apple House Team" meetings (our child named our new home the "apple house" because of a backyard apple tree). Celeste strives to make things right, even when forces outside of everyone's control make remodeling a house challenging. During at least two points during construction, when unforeseen circumstances arose, she brainstormed solutions that subsequently made our lives easier. And now ... I enjoy morning coffee in a breakfast nook she designed based on my description. We awaken to the sight of trees from a bedroom niche that she created specifically for that view. If I ever won Powerball, it would be my pleasure to have her design a home without budgetary constraints. Until then, we feel blessed that Celeste Lewis designed a gorgeous home that we love.

We used Celeste to design and manage two major remodel projects on our Portland home and design a new beach house for us in Ocean Park, WA. The first remodel was a kitchen, family room, bedroom addition around 1997 and the second was remodeling all three of our bathrooms around 2000. The beach house was built in 2008-09. All of the projects were beautifully designed and executed and Celeste was excellent to work with! She is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the construction process and made sure all of the projects ran smoothly. I am the owner of West Side Electric Co. and have had the pleasure of working on many other projects with Celeste throughout the Portland area. Of all the other great architects we work with, Celeste is obviously our first choice!

I've known and worked with Celeste Lewis for nearly 20 years and have always been impressed by her professionalism, knowledge and amazing ability to deal with a wide range of customers, easing the inevitable tensions which can arise during the course of a remodel project. She has a wonderful design aesthetic and the ability to bring together an easily understood plan which makes her vision an attainable goal. She's realistic, but visionary. I'm a General Contractor and have had the pleasure to work with Celeste on many occasions, including one which involved reworking a previous designers plan, which the homeowners were not happy with. Ultimately achieving a beautiful end result, which the homeowners absolutely loved! On my end, as the builder, a project can either be difficult or enjoyable. Thankfully I've always enjoyed Celeste's projects and whenever I need clarification, she's been there for me.

Celeste did a great job really understanding what we wanted. We came to her with an idea that probably would not have worked, but she was able to really understand our goals and come up with a much better solution, due to the time she spent with us really understanding how we live. We love the vision she came up with and its working very well for us now that it is finished.

Celeste gave us good advice for installing built-ins and remodeling a bathroom when she was associated with a firm other than her own. I respect her taste and her ability.

Celeste was very professional and courteous. We love the kitchen she designed! We felt she listened to our needs and worked closely with us to design a kitchen both functional and beautiful. Also, she was always on time with appointments and with drawings. Her communication was fantastic. I would highly recommend Celeste Lewis architecture!
