Wow! talk about "wow factor" I have never seen so many architectural designs implemented in one gorgeous home. With every maestro there's alway a band leader that implements the melody. Your design, you've got a team of master craftsmen that make you proud. It takes a team to do work like this from the designer down to the little helper you guys got it going on. My compliments to the whole team including the owner who had all the faith in the world for this build. You took world designs and incorporated them into one house. We were introduced to Pillar Homes at the Minneapolis Parade of Homes tour. Walking through one of their custom homes convinced us to align ourselves with this builder. Now to find a lot to build! Our goal was to build a high quality, custom home in Wayzata - a small community near Mpls. Pillar found both a lot within this community and quickly took our vision and turned it into a beautiful contemporary cottage. We were impressed with their breadth of home styles and their quality to detail. When building your dream home it is critical that you find a builder that looks at every aspect of building from your view point, a builder that you can trust with a handshake, and a builder that helps you navigate the choices that you must make. We enjoyed every step of the process (they hold your hand through every step)! Ultimately, you want to build with people that you enjoy working with. That makes building your dream home that much more exciting - having your builder and their team as excited as you are about every step in the process. KC, James, Bonnie, Rich and Jim...every one of them made our build into what we have today - a beautiful home. We smile every day when we walk in the door at the end of our day. Our goal was to design and build a retirement home from the ground up. We live 1000 miles away from Wayzata. Our expectation of the developer/builder was complete transparency, detailed and frequent communication, creative and innovative thinking, teamwork, and a passion to build our home on time and on budget. The Pillar TEAM did not disappoint. Thank you KC, Debi, James, and Bonnie. Our process started with us communicating how we planned to use the home. Pillar used brainstorming sessions with us, their team and Ben Nelson (architect) to put our thoughts onto paper. The Pillar TEAM was very good at listening to our needs and helping us understand the impact on cost and practicality of use. They used their experience and expertise to provide alternatives. This process generated many great ideas and final design. We believe we met our goal of building a casual, but elegant, rustic home. Debi, the interior designer, had very strong connections to the entire supply chain and was very good at providing options that met the goals. She was an integral part of the team. Our process required a 100 year home to be moved from the site and preserved. KC Chermak handled the situation very professionally and timely. We were happy to see the historic home is still part of Wayzata. Once the build started the Pillar TEAM was very good at sending pictures and communicating any issues or challenges. We often held teleconferences to keep us informed. We had immediate access to Bonnie, office manager, and KC Chermak, owner, who were very responsive to our calls. We visited our site a few times during the build. We were very impressed with the quality of the build. We were also impressed with the experience of the sub-contractors and their relationship with each other. Many of them had many years of experience in their respective trade and had worked with TEAM Pillar for many years. We noticed how that relationship and collaboration worked extremely well and avoided re-dos and unnecessary cost. It was clear TEAM Pillar was very particular on who they chose as sub-contractors. James, the on site manager, was great explaining technical issues in simple terms and showed the patience of a saint. He was creative and willing to share ideas during and after the build. We were impressed with the formal process throughout the design/build. After we took possession Pillar introduced us a company that would administer the warranties and assure we had one point of contact to resolve any issues. We met with a representative of the company for a 2 hour walk through and was very impressed with the knowledge and detail. We knew designing and building a home would be a very nerve-racking, tedious, and complex process that would take the perfect partner. We found that in TEAM Pillar. Our home was featured during the 2016 Parade of Homes and can be viewed on the Pillar web-site. We love our pavers all the way to the street – what a great suggestion. Steve and Kristine

Pillar Homes designed and built our custom home last year. They were creative, helpful, and patient. Most importantly the quality of the house is excellent. After being in the home for a year we have had no issues and love it. For those looking to build a home, we would recommend building with them.

Pillar Homes is just completing the custom build of our dream home. Everyone from the architect to the design team and individual craftspeople have been great to work with. They listened to our ideas and added many more great details as we went along. They have been very responsive every time we have had a question or request.
