A warm welcome! Based in Berkeley and serving the San Fransico Bay Area, Claire Taylor Design is a British-born, full-service interior design and architectural color studio, specializing in warm, luxurious, creative, European-inspired interiors. With a cohort of trusted partners, I work in collaboration with clients, architects, contractors, cabinet makers and artists to craft inviting, well-functioning and thoughtful spaces. I always look towards my clients and the bones of their space for creative vision - my first question is usually "how do you want to feel in your space?" From initial concept and space-planning to desiging custom kitchens, bathrooms and curating furnishings and art, I handle every detail of the design process with meticulous care.

We hired Claire Taylor to renovate a very dark, narrow and outdated kitchen and bathroom. Claire has the gift of listening to our ideas and then elevated them into something more beautiful and functional than we expected. We learn to trust her instincts and recommendations. During a renovation, there is always the "unexpected" and Claire is quite adaptable and came up with ingenious solutions. She helped us stay within budget while still enhancing the appearance of both rooms. She's a joy to work with and we couldn't be more pleased with the results.

We were thrilled to find such an efficient, knowledgeable and lovely person to work with in solving our paint color dilemma for our living room and dining room. We spent approximately an hour with Claire and her extensive sample color books, etc and settled on a combination of four different colors for the rooms. We are extremely happy with the transition to this new choice of colors. We would highly recommend Claire for her expertise with paint color..

Claire was so fantastic, she came to our home for a color consultation and suggested a color combination for our exterior house paint that we would never have arrived at on our own. We wanted something fun and a little different, and she managed to come up with two shades of white and a purple we loved that looks both fun and elegant. We've gotten SO MANY compliments from both neighbors and passersby!

Claire was a total dream to work with. I've never painted a house or chosen exterior colors. Claire was such an incredible support, and I can't believe how good the house looks. Claire makes the process so fun and easy. She came to the house with colors, swatches, and, most importantly, she was able to get a feel for my personality and vision. She gave me scheme options and helped me think of combos that would have never occurred to me. Highly recommend working with her!

Claire Taylor is not only a terrific interior designer, she's also a thoughtful and creative thinker. She is extremely positive and solutions-oriented, never giving up, even in tough situations, like a tricky living room floor plan or tight, small spaces. She sees the whole picture so that an entire space comes together and also spots small and big details, from lighting to furniture and accent details and goes the distance to follow up, offer ideas, and patiently fielding changes while offering helpful suggestions. Claire has helped design three spaces I've lived in and each time has provided a level of detail and knowledge that goes above and beyond. I've called on her for many, many details and every single recommendation has been gold. She has both the brass tacks knowledge of what will work, and also a natural ease about her that makes her a delight to work with. From bathroom fixtures to bedroom layouts and beyond, Claire is a real pro and lovely to work with! I can't recommend her highly enough.

Claire is extraordinary in so many ways. She is kind and gentle and laid back, and just an all around lovely person to be with. She happens to also have mad design skills. As an artist herself, Claire has a discerning, creative eye. She approaches design with warmth and eclecticism -- not at all prescribed or generic, but with a more natural flare, taking into account how one actually lives comfortably in a home. She is thoughtful and earnest, and looks for ways to save money and time. I would trust Claire with any design decision, big or small!

The fantastic results from Claire’s one-hour color consultation at my house outsized the investment we made in her services. Before coming to the house she studied photos of our house, art and furniture - and came prepared with several color schemes to view in the space. The end result is stunning - tying all the rooms together in a way that highlights the natural light, outdoor surroundings, and architectural features of the rooms. I highly recommend her services.
