Crafted Interiors, run by a dynamic husband-wife contractor-architect duo, did an exceptional job with a gut reno on our 3 bedrooms, 2 bath during a most challenging pandemic time in 2020. David and Megan who run Crafted were recommended to us by our real estate agent, Fainna Kagan, as she had many clients who had used them and spoke highly of them. I interviewed five architects, including Megan at Crafted, and received estimates for the renovation with a wide range; the price for Crafted was directly in the middle of the estimates. What is even better is that when we did the renovation they stayed completely on target with estimated price. Megan, the architect, worked with us to redesign the apartment in a way that worked best for us with our 3 active small children. During a most challenging time, the pandemic, when all renovation was halted, we got through it together. When things are going well, it is easy to get along, when things are difficult like during the pandemic, it is harder. They showed resilience and persistence in the face of difficulty, still proceeding with filing for permits and proceeding. Although the regulations for resuming renovation during the pandemic were strict, they proceeded and followed all protocols, and saw the renovation through to the end. I am attaching photos of some of the highlights of the renovation, including the kitchen, and built ins that they designed including a bookshelf and television storage unit. They are exceptional in kitchen design and renovation and built ins. Most importantly, they have great integrity, and hard working and are upbeat and pleasant to work with. I given Crafted our highest possible recommendation.

We couldn’t be happier with our forever home. Crafted Interiors took on our complete gut project with enthusiasm for the design and dedication to getting it done right-and the results show it. While planning a gut renovation was at first intimidating to us, David and Megan walked us through the process and the expectations from our very first meeting. We had interviewed several architects and contractors, and I never felt like I had a clear view of the process, timing, budget and expected results until we met with Crafted. It was really beneficial to have the architect, designer and contractor all under one roof. Listening to our family’s needs and wants, they converted our 3 bedroom/2.5 bath apartment to 4 bedrooms/3 baths, with an open kitchen maximizing space, flow and privacy of the apartment, while preserving its views. Megan and Patrick listened to our random collection of ideas and did their homework on our likes and dislikes before they started the design. They presented their design concepts cohesively and with a full 3D layout of the apartment. At each step, they would refine based on what we preferred or did not like, offering new ideas or replacements that fit within our budget. Beyond floorplan and all of the aesthetics, they also paid careful attention to all of the “little” wants that were important to me when customizing a home, such as outlet placement, lighting, closet design, even the interiors of the kitchen drawers and the need for drawer for kids shoes in the foyer. We always felt like we were unique clients and they were committed to getting our home just right for us. When we got to the construction phase, we had a clear, written update of the daily activities, including photos. David and his team were always available to meet with us. With a gut renovation in an older building, there are inevitably some unanticipated challenges, or mystery pipes that appear. One great example of having everyone as part of one team is the beautiful lit cove ceiling we ended up with in our master bedroom after pipes were discovered. David, Megan and Patrick designed around them to preserve as much ceiling height as possible in our bedroom. We renovated through COVID, which presented its own challenges. When the building had limitations, they worked around them. When supply chains were constrained, they worked to find alternatives. When our refrigerator was unavailable when it was time for us to move in, they gave us a loaner until the one we ordered was ready. Crafted went the extra mile to make sure we ended up with the apartment we really wanted. One of our needs was a very oversized refrigerator. While the measurements worked on paper, they fabricated the size specs from cardboard boxes for a dry run before they ordered it to ensure it could get up the elevator and into our apartment. We would choose Crafted Interiors again, and again. We could not be more satisfied with their work.

David, Megan and Patrick of Crafted Interiors designed and constructed the gut renovation of three bathrooms and kitchen, new flooring, millwork built-ins and overall remodeling and updating our apt. Renovations in a hundred-year old NYC coop are never easy, and this project was challenged by COVID-related city and building restrictions, supply chain issues etc. The team was adapt at working through the constraints and kept us informed and on budget. They also are very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The end product is a beautiful home that is exactly what we wanted and expect to enjoy for many years. I am absolutely in love with the results of my apartment renovation! The team at Crafted Interiors made what could have been an overwhelming process completely collaborative, organized and fun! Throughout every phase - from design to the sourcing of materials to the daily construction - the team at Crafted Interiors kept me updated, was responsive to my inquiries and proactively managed my expectations. As a designer, Patrick was amazing to work with. He listened to my wants, narrowed down choices without making me feel like there were limits and I never felt pressured to accept something I didn’t like. Megan and David were transparent with expectations, timelines and obstacles. When a challenge was encountered, they were prepared with solutions before we even spoke. Crafted Interiors performed a near complete overhaul of my apartment, including converting it back to two bedrooms and gutting my bathroom. We interviewed a number of companies and chose Crafted Interiors due to their architect/construction combination. When construction challenges popped up during the renovation, we were incredibly grateful to have all of our renovation needs in one spot. All challenges were handled quickly and easily. Crafted Interiors exceeded our expectations from their level of project management, timeliness, quality, and overall support. We had heard horror stories of change orders and budget challenges once construction started, and we had none of those issues with Crafted Interiors. The only change orders were the ones that we generated when we asked for tweaks along the way. The final product was better than we could have imagined, and we love living in our new space. We had a wonderful experience with Crafted Interiors. They performed an extensive renovation of our 2-bedroom 1.5 bath pre-war CO-OP. Going into the project we knew we had a reasonable budget to address many of the core issues. However, we were also prepared to face the reality that some items would need to remain out of scope and be addressed in the coming years as our finances permitted. Fortunately, the Crafted team took great care in creating a project plan that balanced our needs, wants, and budget to make our vision for the apartment a reality. The build process was seamless. The Crafted team handled all aspects of the permitting, building approvals, and on-site deliveries. In fact, all we had to do was log into their client portal and submit payments as milestones in the project were completed. That’s another thing we really liked about Crafted, they embrace technology and have a client portal that allows you to review invoices, make payments, approve changes and our favorite feature, review photos of the project as it progressed. We our incredibly happy with the final product and can’t thank Megan, David, and the entire Crafted team enough for making the renovation such a pleasant experience and leaving us with a beautiful home to raise our family for many years to come. We highly recommend David and Megan and the Crafted Interiors team. In a business where trust is so important, there were zero surprises during our renovation. Their level of detail is second to none. Every cost was itemized and explained prior to signing off. They stayed on budget. They helped us pick out and coordinate every single item in our kitchen. They were true partners and genuinely cared about the product and making sure things weren't just completed, but done to perfection. And it absolutely shows in the pictures. Megan and David and their team at Crafted Interiors held our hands and guided us through the entire renovation. We first connected with the Crafted Interiors team as we were writing offers to purchase two adjacent apartments. We relied on their expertise and experience to help walk us through each stage of a massive gut renovation and combination of two one-bedroom apartments. Once we were in contract, we started the design phase. They listened to our “must haves”, our “wish list”, and our budget, and came up with several beautiful options. We worked together through budget constraints, building code restrictions, and co-op alteration requirements. The level of care, responsiveness, and ability to see our visions were far beyond our expectations. Between the multiple renderings, detailed materials list, and white-glove service of dealing with our co-op and the NYC DoB, it was clear that we were in good hands. The service-oriented team knows how to efficiently navigate bureaucratic processes while managing a client’s expectations. Once the city and the building approved the plans for our dream home, the construction phase began. The crew was professional, punctual, and clean. They were responsive and proactive and kept the project on schedule even when unforeseen setbacks were presented. It was amazing to have a crew that took pride in the end-product as opposed to cutting corners to get a job done fast. Our project was completed within 30 days of our original target date despite some major setbacks that were beyond the control of the contractor. Given the size of the job, and quality of the work, we were thrilled to finally move in. Even after we moved in, the crew was still responsive to our questions and needs. Between minor punch list items, and warranty issues on appliances or electrical, they came back and made sure that we were 100% satisfied. Everything about this team exceeded our expectations of a contractor. Working with this team confirms that there are still honest people out there to do business with.

David and Megan were terrific to work with throughout my renovation: They worked with me through a few kitchen iterations until we found a great open layout that permitted full size appliances, were always highly available and responsive and worked with me until we found a solution that I as thrilled by throughout the process. The work speaks for itself, and my friends and family are all really impressed by the renovation. In a really nice surprise, David and Megan 'discovered' several square feet of space that could be reclaimed in my apartment by removing non-structural elements around the structural parts. They integrated the space really nicely which created a nook by the sink, a deeper pantry, and additional built-in storage in the living room. They also handled an oddly positioned gas line which couldn't be moved in a really nice way, turning it into additional storage and counter space by the stove. When it was discovered that my apartment had heat loss issues (This was due to windows which the coop will replace in the spring) they adapted their design incorporating larger replacement radiators which are keeping the space nice and toasty as winter is approaching. David’s team did everything very well, but the thing that has impressed me the most has been their commitment to getting everything right, even when minor surprises have come up months after I moved in, and long after I'd submitted my final payment.
