We chose a Creation Homes build and lot because of our first meeting with Nick. He is professional, a great communicator, and clearly had our best interests in mind. He walked us through the process, let us see the progress in person whenever we wanted, helped us choose colours and designs when we were stumped, and used only the best material in the house. We took possession today and our home is better than carbon net zero (super air tight!). If you're looking for a home builder with integrity and style, choose Creation Homes!

Creation Homes came highly recommended when we started looking into the whole process. Rightfully so. Nick was involved and always available months before the shovel hit the ground. Despite the unknowns as we had never undertook such project, we felt completely supported by Creation Homes every step of the way. Throughout the built, communication was fluid and we understood where everything was at. I felt the project unfolded faster than I was expecting but at no point felt rushed. The timelines were all respected and we had no delays despite the supply issues due to the pandemic. Lots of choices, more than I ever thought ourselves capable of making but again, Nick was there to help out and ultimately support us in making decisions. Technically, the house is as we expected with a great level of craftmanship which was a major recommendation and a driver in our selection of Creation Homes. Everything is as we imagined, maybe a bit bigger, to our outmost satisfaction! Pricewise, we had a house built, so its not a cheap project. The budget was respected and again, Creation Homes worked with us to help us remain on track. I quickly realized that money goes by fast with the rainbow of upgrades and plethora of options available. To conclude, I can only recommend Creation Homes. They did amazing, outstanding quality and the service made us feel secure throughout the transaction, which turned out to be more important than I anticipated given the large scope of the project, financially and emotionally. If we were to ever consider doing this again, securing Creation Homes' services would be a top priority.

We began working with Nick from Creation Homes in 2019. He was more than happy to meet with us on many occasions and was very good at addressing any questions we had about building a new home. After visiting a previous build and calling other clients for reviews, we felt ready to then go ahead with his business. From day one, Nick has been phenomenal at communicating with us; text, phone or visiting the site, he always (and still does), make time for us. Having this communication, truly made us feel taken care of. Despite building through the pandemic, Nick and his team were very accommodating and understanding to delays that we faced. We could visit the house whenever we liked and the team was always there to tell us what they were doing and why. We knew we were in good hands and loved that Nick and his team were there every day working solely on our house. While visiting and or thinking about the house layout, we always brought ideas to Nick that he was more than willing to do. From adding another window, building a railing instead of a full wall to the basement, floating shelves, additional bathroom, fireplace to a fully custom ensuite, he was willing to make it happen. His craftsmanship and hard work showed through the whole build and not once did he say "no" to an idea we had. Nick and his employees at Creation Homes are knowledgeable, personable and build the home as if it were theirs. We felt reassured in every step of the build and know we can reach out to Nick at any point post move if we have a question. We would 100% recommend this company to anyone looking to build and are extremely grateful that we were able to support local during these past few years.

We have recently moved into our Filmore model from Creation Homes. We started our build in august of 2020 and with the shadow of covid looming over the process. We were fortunate for Nick and his team to overcome all obstacles we had to face. Besides the uncertainties of covid, Nick kept communication a high priority to reassure us and inform us of the progress of the build. Nick simply made it easy to turn our ideas and dreams into a reality. The main reason we chose Creation Homes is due to the fact they work on one project at a time, witch allows attention to detail to surpass any of the cookie cutter home standards. Our expectations were high and Creation Homes delivered on everyone of them. The process was enjoyable and if ever we are to repeat said process Creation Homes would be our go to without hesitation.

It has been 6weeks since we moved into our new home and its now time, we give Creation Homes the review they deserve. Getting the “Meadowstead” built during the Covid-19 Pandemic was certainly a challenge for the team but we could not be more pleased with the final product! What to expect when choosing Creation Homes: Honesty, Integrity, and lots of Hard Work. The crew was on site every day at 7am. Anytime we needed a quote for an upgrade, Nick always provided fair pricing and explained costs for all items. This 4-person team does everything except for Plumbing, Electrical/Gas lines, and roof shingling. We selected several upgrades, Kitchen, Bathroom, and even asked Nick to build a custom built-in entertainment unit in our living room which turned out amazingly. Do not let Nick’s young age fool you, this man is an expert at his craft. During our final inspection, our energy star rated home was assessed the highest score possible and that only solidified our opinion that this team is great at what they do! You want a custom home? Nick is your man and Creation Homes should be your choice! I would put them up against any of the big cookie cutter builders in Ottawa. The fact is, they only build 3-4 homes per year but you know they pay attention to detail and focus on your home only during the build process. This gave us piece of mind and reduced the stress dramatically as we felt we were in good hands the entire way! Thanks once again for building our dream home!

Our home The Delsol was recently finished in Hammond by Creation Homes. We could not be happier. Building a house can be an unbelievably exciting experience, but it doesn’t come without its stresses. Upon meeting Nick, his knowledge and experience are immediately visible. You know you’re in good hands. There are so many decisions to make, we were extremely fortunate to have Nick to guide us along the way. With his skill and knowledge he was able to make our dreams come to fruition. We felt completely at ease throughout this process knowing we were their number one priority. Creation built us our dream house and we can’t thank them enough. We highly recommend Creation Homes.

When it comes to design or construction you often hear the saying; "Less is more". When buying a home from Creation Homes, you get more, for less. Creations Homes cut out some of the middle men, and in doing so, keep costs low. You get a beautiful home on a nice big lot. My small but growing family has been living in a "Markham" by Creation Homes for almost 2 years and we have not been disappointed. Throughout the building process, my wife and I were able to make modifications to our chosen unit as well as make decisions in regards to fit and finish. The Creation Homes team was always accommodating to our wishes and desires while also giving solid suggestions and insights. With a Creation Homes you get finishes on par or above the quality of big box builders, while also having the peace of mind that they are years ahead of the building code when it comes to insulation and building envelope. You will receive a very energy efficient home. All in all, we are very pleased with Creation Homes and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new home.

My family just had a house built by Creation Homes in the summer of 2019. We could not be happier with the final product and overall experience of having this house built. Nick and his crew really do take their work to heart. It really feels like everything in the house is custom made for us. The amount of detail and the level of craftsmanship is astounding. We recently closed (July 2019) on our new home built by Creation Homes a builder out of Bourget Ontario. When my husband and I set out to find a builder for our dream home we reached out to several builders from the Ottawa region. After meeting with 4 different builders, we made the decision to collaborate with Creation Homes. The initial decision was based on the following: 1. Small builder. Creation Homes is a smaller builder that is run by a father and son team. We wanted to avoid the bigger builders for reasons that we will detail later in this review. 2. Communication. Initial responses to our questions and requests were prompt, professional and informative. Nicholas (the son) handles most of the communications with clients and was great at answering all of our questions. Email, phone calls, text messages, you name it he was available to answer our questions. 3. Net-Zero. We wanted our home to be Net-Zero ready to do our small part to help fight climate change and to have a home that is more energy efficient. Out of the 4 builders we had conversations with, only Creation Homes were able to provide us with concrete details and cost estimates on the Net-Zero build. They are a certified Net-Zero builder and in fact I believe they are the only Net-Zero certified builder east of Ottawa all the way to Montreal. 4. References. We requested references from previous clients and Creation Homes referred us to several former clients. We reached out to 2 of their former clients before making our decision. Both former clients had nothing but good things to say about them. The former clients even offered us the opportunity to come and visit their houses should we want to see them in person. 5. Visit an “in progress” build. Prior to deciding, Nick allowed us to visit the house they were currently in the process of building. We were able to visit the house at different stages of construction and Nick and his father, Leon, always took time to show us how they work and explain their build processes and practices. Having the ability to see another build in progress made it such that we were more comfortable with our choice as we were able to see with our own eyes the attention to detail and the craftsmanship that they put into their builds. 6. Price. The initial quote they provided us was competitive and in line with the other builders. Once our decision was made, they requested a deposit to secure the build date and we were off! Pre-build Before the shovels hit the ground, we worked with Nick and Leon to tweak the floorplan for the model we chose (Sansas) and to prepare the upgrades that we wanted to do to the base build. For a few weeks, there was a lot of back and forth where we were asking if something could be done and if so, how much the upgrade would be. Nick was always prompt at providing us with suggestions as well as pricing for all of the upgrades we were considering. The whole process was painless and we landed on a list of upgrades and moved forward with a formal contract that contained the upgrades we requested. During the Build They went to work quickly and ahead of schedule. As mentioned previously, Nick and Leon did a great job keeping us informed on their progress with almost daily messages and most of the time included photos for us to view. Here’s where they really set themselves apart from the big builders. They had 100% transparency during the build. We were welcome to visit the build site anytime we wanted. Nick and Leon were on site every single day without fail with their crew (Terry and Dan who were also really great to work with). Throughout the build process my husband and I visited the site at least 2-3 times per week. They allowed us to take pictures, to walk around (even though we were in the way sometimes) and took the time while we were there to answer any questions we had. Nick worked with us to schedule formal visits to discuss things like electrical wiring placement as well as light fixture placement and switch placement. Scheduling was easy and Nick was very flexible in working with us on timing. Our build is in rural east Ottawa and we both work in the city. Nick was able to be flexible and to work with our schedules when meetings were required. Net-Zero Net-Zero homes are homes that have a much higher level of energy efficiency than standard builder grade as well as Energy Star builds. When we requested the Net-Zero upgrade, Nick was able to provide us with cost estimates right away and explained to us in detail how Creation Homes achieves Net-Zero certification on their Net-Zero builds: Mechanical components - Cold climate air source heat pump for heating / cooling - Electric high efficiency hot water heater - Heat recovery ventilation system to keep the air fresh while reducing heat transfer with outside air Insulation - Rigid foam insulation underneath the basement floor - Rigid foam insulation on the foundation walls as well as standard batt insulation - Rigid foam insulation on all exterior walls as well as batt insulation (our exterior walls are nearly 12 inches thick because of all the insulation) - 2 feet (yes 2 feet) thick blown insulation in the attic - Triple pane windows. Every single one. Nick was also able to provide us with information on how they prevent hot / cold air from leaking out of the house by using plastic as well as a silicone like substance used to create an air tight shell. Prior to closing on the house, the house was tested for air leaks. The house achieved an incredibly low score on the ACH (air changes per hour) test which indicates that the house has very little air leaks. All of this has made for a very comfortable and quiet home. The cold climate air source heat pump barely makes any noise (much less than a standard AC). The insulation and triple pane windows make it such that we aren’t disturbed by outside noise. There are train tracks nearby and we can barely hear the train as it passes. The mechanical system keeps the air circulating and makes it such that the air in the house always feels fresh. We anticipate that our monthly utility bill will be significantly less on this house (1600 sq/feet detached Net-Zero) than our prior house (1200 sq/feet townhouse standard builder grade). We will update this review in a year from now to provide actual numbers on the energy efficiencies. Quality and Craftsmanship From start to finish, it was clear that they take pride in the work that they do. We requested several non-standard items for our build. We requested some custom shelving on our island, custom moldings above the cabinets, custom light valences underneath the cabinets for the under-cabinet lighting as well as custom shelving in the kitchen. Nick made quick work of all our custom requirements. He took our vision and made it a reality. We sent him pictures we found online (Pinterest, Houzz, etc. ...) and he worked with us on making it happen. The quality in the craftsmanship is second to none. We are very happy with all of the custom details he was able to build for us. We were originally discussing with Nick the idea of a custom built-in entertainment center. In the end we opted not to do this but Nick was already providing us with feedback and ideas to make this happen. Nick is especially attentive to detail and treated our build as if it were his own. He is attentive to every little detail. If something was off, he was quick to make it right. We will be doing an update to this review in a year from now to provide you all with our one-year anniversary thoughts. Client / Builder Relationship For us, the client / builder relationship was probably the single most important aspect of the partnership. We decided to partner with Creation Homes as we were looking for a more personalized approach. Nick, Leon, Terry and Dan were on site every day rain or shine working away to build this house for us. They are hard working, dedicated and masters of their craft. The guys were all attentive to our requirements and executed our vision perfectly. Throughout the build process we developed relationships with all of them. We were able to discuss business matters while at the same time laughing and joking together. Nick and Leon went above and beyond in explaining everything in as much detail as we required during every phase of the build. Communication was second to none. Email, text, phone, in person they did it all and always responded quickly with the information we requested. We have developed an excellent working relationship with these people as well as some great friendships. We know that we will maintain a great relationship with them in the future as well. Final Thoughts Creation Homes gets an A+ from us. From the initial phone call when we were still trying to find the right builder to when we received our keys it has been a great experience. The relationship with the builder, the Net-Zero energy efficiency, the craftsmanship, transparency and attention to detail is what set them apart from other builders. We would highly recommend Creation Homes to anyone looking to build a home. You will end up with a beautiful, energy efficient and quality-built home that you will love for a very long time.
