We didn't plan to tear our shower out and start over but I'm glad we did! We called Erik in a panic: we had guests coming in a month and our shower was leaking for the third time. Erik was very responsive and and assured us we'd have a new, beautiful shower in plenty of time. And we do. He and his team did a beautiful job. We chose a subway type tile and had it installed vertically. I couldn't be happier with the result and highly recommend Fin Home.

After months of DIY projects and attempted outsourcing in preparation to sell our 26 year old home, my wife and I were referred to Erik and the Fin Home team to refresh our outdated interior. Erik and his crew are the quintessential home remodel experts. Hired to remodel nearly an entire single story home, with emphasis in the kitchen and baths, Erik, a true visionary in the remodel profession, oversaw the job from start to finish, exceeding all of my expectations. My husband and I hired Fin Home Custom Contracting for a kitchen and bathroom vanity makeover and we absolutely LOVE the outcome!!! Erik was very responsive in getting back to us and from the initial meeting, he had great ideas and seemed very knowledgeable. We mostly worked with Maddy and she was amazing to work with - she was very thorough with explaining and clarifying any questions we had and we just felt very well taken care of and kept in the loop during the whole project! Fin Home completed a total kitchen remodel for us. From the initial meeting through the entire process including, planning, drawings, scheduling and the construction it was handled with professionalism and in a very timely fashion. The workmen were polite and efficient. At the end of every day the area was left clean. We were given a three week time frame and the project was completed. Highly recommend this company. Fin Home was an integral part of helping us restore our home after we had significant damage from an alternate contractor. They did a great job navigating our vision for a luxurious and relaxing primary bedroom and en suite while also advocating for us with our adjustor after our loss/damage. Not to mention they navigated materials scarcity in 2021 and were still able to creatively problem solve. Erik was even available to accommodate communicating around our crazy work hours. I think all home reno and builds are stressful - but if you are looking for a partner with good vision and workmanship for a project I would give Fin Home a call!

Erik was a professional from the start until the end of the project. His ideas exceeded our expectations. Paint, flooring, appliances, lighting and whatever we needed, Erik was there to help us. If things needed to be finished, Erik made sure they were completed. Erik always took the the time to make sure we were happy from start to finish.

My previous contractor was no longer in the business when I needed some home repairs done and a new barn built. I found Mr. Fin online and the reviews were all five star. Well, heck, I thought, why not? So I called him and he came right out. He listen to me, to my husband, did the inside the house repairs immediately, repaired the cracks in the foundation, repaired the inside walls, and repainted. He also made some very important suggestions about some other repairs, "updated" my electrical outlets and made sure that EVERYTHING in the house was done correctly and quickly. He then began to work on the barn. I told him what I needed and my husband told him exactly what he wanted.. Erik faced only "two" problems: city permits and the electric company. The city permit department was, to put it delicately, a pain to have to deal with. They went out of their way to make sure that EVERYTHING went as slowly as possible. As did Oncor and Texas Electric. Too often Oncor would tell us that they would send men out to "hook up the electricity" and Erik and his men would be there to finish what needed to be finished and Oncor would never show up. This happened several times and Erik NEVER lost his temper or his cool and he always took care of it. I will always call on Mr. Fin when I need anything done around the house or barn. He is dependable, knowledgeable, courteous and a very nice person to deal with. Waiting on the city and the electric caused no end of problems but Erik handled it, ALL of it. He asked what we wanted done. and then he did it. And it was done very well. The cost was apropos for what we wanted. He did not "cut corners" nor did he try to sell us things we did not want nor need. He paid attention to what I wanted and he made sure that everything I needed for the horse was done perfectly. My husband is VERY hard to "please" but Erik did exactly what my husband wanted, he made sure to consult with him and any ideas that my husband wanted incorporated were. I will only use Fin Home Custom Contracting for any other repairs or builds I need or want.

Over the course of my adult life I've hired and fired (mostly fired) well over a dozen contractors. As a result, I'm very picky about who I work with. I interviewed 6 contractors for our first floor renovation. I told each of them the walls were coming out and it was just a question of who was going to do the work, so if they wanted to cut in to get a better idea of what would be required to go right ahead. Erik was the only one who cut into the walls. He made three different holes to look inside the walls and found some problems that would have just been surprises to the other contractors (as well as surprises to my budget). That was the first thing that set him apart. He came out 2 more times to measure and look at other potential problems, and offered a number of suggestions that really helped clarify our vision of what would be needed to get things done right. The other contractors came out twice - once to hear what we wanted done and measure and once to try to sell us on their services. Erik did not attempt to sell us. He was very thorough in his preparation for his proposal. He was also the only contractor that was able to give us a clear, set timetable for the project. All the others refused to give a set timeline or accept a deadline. I even offered one 14 weeks as the deadline and they still wouldn't accept. Erik was specific in his proposal about what would be done each week, how many weeks it would take, costs involved per week, and so on. He committed to stand by his projected timeline, barring mid-project changes that came from us. He also committed to having people on site every day during the project. He finished ahead of schedule, despite 3 days of delays we caused. There were 3 days his crews didn't show up, and in each instance he warned us ahead of time and explained why. They did work 1 holiday and 1 weekend, so you could argue they missed 1 day. Erik was consistently available throughout the whole project, and came out on weekends whenever we needed to review something. It was a very collaborative effort, and he did an excellent job in helping us through decisions that greatly improved the end product. It was the least stressful, most positive construction experience I've had. The results were spectacular and completely transformed our first floor. His ideas were within our spend tolerance and really improved the final outcome. What was truly extraordinary is he and his crew did things that were not on the project schedule without being asked, at no extra cost, just to make sure the overall impact on the home was maximized. Can lights that were not part of the project were replaced to match the new can lights that were planned. Window sills were painted. Bad outlets were replaced. As long as we live in the area, he is the only contractor we are going to use. We've already engaged Fin Home for the next project. This is the company you want to work with. Stellar Experience.

Erik’s first project with us was a major repair/remodel in 2022, which included significant improvements in our kitchen, family room, 4 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and game room. We had ideas of what we wanted and/or needed done, but Erik’s knowledge, creativity and practical innovation really helped transform these spaces into beautiful, functional and enjoyable rooms beyond our expectations. He and his team worked diligently to complete each phase of the work, overcoming obstacles & challenges that are inherit to any remodel of an older home. Erik was extremely responsive throughout the project from planning to scheduling to construction, as well as in his follow-up to complete our punch list. We loved working with Erik and cannot say enough about his dedication to customer satisfaction! This year (2023), we have had Erik complete a few smaller projects for us and have been very pleased with his ability to schedule the work quickly and get it done. Our most recent project was a bit of an emergency situation caused by a water leak in a refrigerator ice-maker line. Erik took my panicked call late one evening, talked me through what I needed to do to prevent further damage from occurring, then showed up early the next morning to assess the work needed. By the end of that day Erik had mitigated the damage, made the necessary repairs and had everything looking like new. I cannot imagine anyone else being willing or able to make that happen for us but Erik. I’ll be an Erik Finholm fan for life and highly recommend him for your next project.

Erik redid my kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring. We had a big leak and had to do several repairs and used the opportunity to update our home. He got everything done in a timely fashion, and gave us options to stay in budget. We're very happy with the quality of the work.

I was introduced to Fin Home Custom Contracting by a broker who has had previous experience with the contractor. At our first meeting, I was brutally honest with Erik. I stated that I work from home and would not be interested in a lengthy process. Erik provided “out of the box” ideas as we discussed the new floor plan. The entire project was completed in 10 days. I couldn’t believe it! I was needing a kitchen remodel. Scraping of ceiling and new floors throughout the house were added. The front porch and sidewalk were also restructured. There were a few problems that arose due to age of the home. Erik came up with creative solutions while keeping the monetary costs as low as possible. I am so pleased with all the work done by Erik and his crew. I used them for tree trimming, cement work, privacy fence and interior renovations. Erik and his crew transformed a very narrow, non-functional kitchen into a dream kitchen. We were on a budget and with his innovative ideas and help, we got more than we dreamed was possible. Erik and team are really everything you want in a contractor. He and his team basically remodeled our entire first floor with new flooring, appliances, cabinets, countertops, showers, and front door. His pricing is fair and speed of work is great, but what we loved the most is his attention to detail and quality of work. After several bad contractor experiences, Erik & team came highly recommended by a friend. They weren’t kidding. Finhomes should be your go-to. 1. The work was quality, to the point that they were often more picky about it than we were. 2. The job stayed on schedule. Any time there was a gap in the schedule they found a way to fill it. Most contractors use that as an excuse to take a day off. 3. Whenever there was a problem (inevitable in any project) they took care of it pronto. I don’t think anything went more than 24 hours before being rectified. 4. Customer service actually matters to them. 5. Erik and/or Stephanie were constantly there to monitor the work and make executive decisions. The workers all seemed quite competent, but they were well supervised anyway. We decided to throw them a small project and see how it goes. We were well pleased and will use nobody else now. Seriously a good group of people.

I am a professional chef, and conveyed my desire to Erik that we were looking for a complete overhaul and transformation of our tired original kitchen into a more modern and functional chef's kitchen. Additionally, we were looking for additional storage, and overflow for hosting in our home, by adding window seats on our attached sunroom, and revamping that into something more functional as well. We shared our desires and Erik understood my vision completely. He took that vision and further presented us options we couldn't have imagined for our project that were practicaland innovative. In July, Erik and crew traveled to Indianapolis, IN to gut and completely remodel our kitchen and sunroom, as well as install engineered hardwood flooring throughout for our project. I have shown a few before and after pictures for your viewing. The results are stunning and speak for themselves. He and crew were extremely professional, timely, detail oriented and charged fairly. They listened to us and offered suggestions that were helpful and practical. We absolutely loved the result and intend to use Erik again when we remodel our master bath in the near future as well. Erik and team have now done three separate jobs for us, first was a screen porch, second was installing French drains and pouring concrete, and the third project was fencing and a custom deck around our swim spa. All three were done with skill and unmatched expertise. His team of craftsmen completed each project quickly, within budget and left the job site better then they found it. Erik and team were great. They showed up on time and finished unbelievably fast. Even with Covid delays in getting the materials out of Canada he was super responsive and kept us in the loop on when the supplies would arrive. I highly recommend them.

We met Erik while doing a powder bathroom remodel. He was honest and responded quickly with every one of our questions. He worked hard and his workmanship is quality work. We just had him install a new dishwasher, sink, faucet, and disposal in our kitchen. We will definitely call him for our next project as well.

Erik and his guys did a full gut and remodel of our 2nd bathroom. It went from the 80's to modern and beautiful. They did such an amazing job we are having our master bathroom totally remodeled. We also have additional projects for flooring throughout the first floor and an update to our half bath. Erik is honest and hard working. He is also a stickler to detail. If he or his customer doesn't like how something turned out he will fix it. Erik also has a keen eye for design. I will contact him first for any other work I may need in the future.

When Erik arrived to go over our needs, not only did he put me at ease for the job I was hiring him to do, he made recommendations for our upcoming meeting with our builder, which were spot on.
