When we decided to build an addition on our home, I was hesitant to the idea of hiring an architect or designer. I did not think it would be necessary, since I thought my vision would suffice. Fortunately, I am well aware that I know less than I think, and eventually agreed to the recommendation. That’s when we lucked out and met Doug Leahy. Doug designed a beautiful and award winning room that we can’t say enough about, and we continue to get rave reviews from visitors. He did it in consideration of our budget and our input. The cool thing about Doug is that he is incredibly nice and fun to work with, he’s brings up all kinds of innovative ideas and he totally respects your input. He’s both detail oriented and visionary. After the initial drawing and our input, he came up with the perfect room. We then had him help us with our bathroom, which turned out to be another stunning room and now he has helped us with our master suite. It is so incredible that it was won awards. We simply can’t say enough about Doug. We just need to find another project so we can hire him again.

Doug Leahy from GETAdesign is fantastic! He has done multiple projects for us, from a finished basement with a custom bar and custom cabinets and projector, to a custom laundry/mud room. For our mudroom, Doug's great ideas allowed us to maximize space in the room by changing the location of the washer and dryer and installing locker style cabinets for our children's school bags and coats. Doug listens to his clients and comes up with fantastic ideas and can put your vision on paper. All of the contractors Doug has recommended to us are also wonderful. It is not only a pleasure to work with Doug, he is professional, thorough and very talented.

I love my quirky 1930 home. The front yard is in a historic district, the backyard overlooks Lake Michigan. After many years of dreaming of a renovation, I contacted Mr. Doug Leahy. He had helped design a thoughtful, open renovation to my fiance's Sears kit home that improved the functionality and respected the home's roots. The research I did on the Internet confirmed that he had a wonderful sense of proportion, balance, and creativity. Doug has an engaging, energetic, love of homes and how we live in them. Once he viewed the site, listened to my needs and hopes and measured everything, he proposed a beautiful, wide, welcoming, beachy-cool front porch. He amazes me with his ability to recall small, important details. We will break ground soon. Can't wait!

Doug designed a few additions and renovations for my home. We have loved all of his ideas, we just added on a Master Bedroom Suite - it is so warm and modern at the same time. I love the layout. He did everything we asked and made some suggestions that reflected our style and flow of the room. Doug is super talented and easy to work with. Our builders said the same thing, we had questions during construction and he always quickly answered them. He has also stopped by to see progress. I can not recommend him enough.
