This unique home located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan was definitely a welcomed design challenge for a young design firm. The client wanted to save the existing 1950’s slab ranch, add upper and partial lower levels, all while creating a modern transitional prairie style home.

The interior of the home has an open floor plan with clear site lines, yet still achieves defined spaces. This unique kitchen nicely defines the space of the kitchen from the adjacent eating area and open dining room. The use of clean and simple lines help this kitchen be successful. Glass subway tile set in a non-traditional pattern on the backsplash and the oversize stainless steel toe kick help support this.

This Bloomfield Hills home has been transformed from a typical 1950’s ranch to a home with modern transitional kitchen home with elegance and timeless proportions.
