Plans for remodel older home - worked with the team over email - 2 year project turned out beautiful

We started working with Wiley over 30 years ago and followed him to his own firm in 1987. When Gene came onboard in the mid 90's, we began to work with him as well. Over the past 30 years, the two of them have drawn numerous houses for us to include several of our personal homes. The greatest thing about our working relationship is the fact that our offices are located next door to one another. Having the ability to pop in with a question on a drawing or to assist a client in the design phase is extremely valuable. We look forward to working with Gene on future projects and will continue to recommend his services to our clients.

We have engaged Gene Hodgson as our architect on our home building project earlier this year and are in the middle of the process at this time. Our project started in one direction and then changed dramatically when we found a "teardown" in an established neighborhood. This project involves an unusually shaped lot, and Gene has helped us design a "footprint" that we think will work very well. Gene walked our site several times, taking in the best views and recommending a different site pad than originally planned. This opened up our lot to better sunset and mountain vistas. He visited different areas with us to capture a feel for the desert southwest - more rancher homestead than kitschy adobe - and designed a home that uniquely fit our personalities and lifestyles. Everyone that saw the plans said, "Yep, that's you!" Gene nailed it! His thoughtful observations and keen attention to resulted in a home that reflected our adventurous spirit and outdoor lifestyle.

Gene was very helpful with our remodel. He had great ideas for our kitchen and entrance to our master bedroom and was a joy to work with!!
