Where do I even begin with this rant? In the summer of 2020, during the height of COVID lockdowns, I decided to revamp our kitchen cabinets since we weren’t spending money elsewhere. I reached out to Gerald Dixon of Iconic Cabinets for the project. Gerry came to inspect our existing maple cabinets and even commented on how well they had held up over 20 years. We ultimately decided to replace them with painted cabinets instead of solid wood ones. Initially, we were happy with both the product and the workmanship. However, the satisfaction didn’t last long. Just eight months after installation, chips started to appear on the cabinet doors and drawers, prompting me to contact Iconic Cabinets for a paint touch-up pen. This simple request turned into a saga spanning four years with repeated attempts to get the same thing—and very little response. Here’s the timeline: •March 8, 2021: Sent a text asking for a paint pen. No reply. •March 29, 2021: Sent another text asking for a paint pen. Finally got a reply saying Gerry would look for the paint. •April 26, 2023: Two years later, I texted again for a paint pen. This time, Gerry replied saying he’d check with the paint supplier. •February 12, 2025: Two more years passed, and I sent another text requesting a paint pen. No reply. •February 21, 2025: I called Gerry directly. He said he’d check on the color. •March 12, 2025: I sent an email outlining this entire timeline of unanswered requests, product deterioration, and lack of response. Still no reply. •March 19, 2025: Sent another email, this time attaching screenshots of prior requests and letting him know I’d post negative reviews and share my experience on social media. No response. The paint color should’ve been easily accessible in Iconic’s records from when the project was completed. That I was forced to request a touch-up pen just months after installation reflects poorly on the quality of the cabinets, and Gerry’s lack of communication further compounded the problem. After four years of patience and persistence, I’ve reached my limit. I strongly advise anyone considering Iconic Cabinets or Gerald Dixon to steer clear—you’ll save yourself a great deal of frustration.

WOW, Gerald Dixon and his crew at Iconic Cabinets did a fantastic job, I could not be happier. From start to finish they exceeded my expectations! Our experience with Gerry and his team at Iconic Cabinets was excellent from start to finish. At the planning stage there was substantive consultation about what we were seeking and options were provided and discussed about what was possible at different price points. Gerry had great ideas of where to include features to help maintain the character of our kitchen but also did not try to sell us on things that just didn't make sense. During the building of the cabinets we were invited to come to the shop and see how things were going and everything was ready on time and on budget. The installation was very professionally done and the installer was happy to tell us what she was doing and address any questions that we had. After the installation Gerry followed up in person to make sure everything met our satisfaction which it most certainly did.
