On March 23rd 2019 our family home of 30+ years was completely destroyed by a garage fire. This was one of the most tragic and devastating events in our family’s history. Among the irreplaceable possessions and countless memories, we also lost 2 of our furry family members. This entire event tore a massive hole in our lives larger than words I feel can describe. Fortunately, we were insured which allowed us the ability to rebuild, however; the thought of rebuilding what was lost was an enormously daunting task. It seemed as though it would be impossible to recreate a place that we felt was truly “our home”. In mid-April, we walked into Jackson Design and Remodeling where we met with Jim Groen and Todd Jackson. From the moment we walked through the doors of their beautiful showroom and met Mr. Jackson we knew this was the right place. The exceptional care, respect and professionalism they showed regarding the tragedy we had just gone through was beyond comforting. After our initial introductions, we were set to meet with Jennifer Rosenthal and Jaclyn Dunbaugh, our “Design Team”. Both of these ladies were able to envision exactly what we loved about the home we lost and helped us transition that vision into something beautiful and brand new. It was such an easy process with such an amazingly talented team. We were fortunate enough to work with architect David Hall, who implemented amazing innovation, speed and accuracy to bring the exterior of our new home to a more beautiful version of the old exterior. By the end of July, insurance processes had been completed and we were ready to break ground. Though we were not able to live in our home while it was rebuilt, we remained close by and made many trips to see the progress. At this point, our wonderful Project Manager, Joey DuPlante, took over to begin building, which became an unexpectedly simple and expeditious process. Every time we went to the property it was clean and there was visible progress and ongoing work. It truly changed our perspective on how daunting the process had seemed at the beginning. Our design team continued to work with us through the entire construction process, making selections a piece of cake! Jackson Design and Remodeling had our house completed and move-in ready one week before Christmas. This was something we had hoped for but had seemed impossible when we started. The first week in our “new home” was surreal. Everything was different and new, yet it somehow felt immediately like our home. We truly believe that Jackson Design and Remodeling did the impossible and made our lives complete again. Jackson Design and Remodeling not only rebuilt a house, they created our home and have forever touched our lives. We went from the hardest moment we had experienced to sitting at the end of the project, in our new living room with the Team of our dreams who made it happen. Worked with them on a smaller cabinet remodel. The guy that did the work was great. The PM was very communicative and I'm happy with the results.

Jackson Design remodeled our kitchen earlier this year. They did a fantastic job! Our guests cannot get over how great the kitchen looks. The design process was great. Tatiana is an excellent designer and was very patient with us while we were deciding on the various countertops and cabinets etc. Our project manager, Mike, and our architect Jim were very communicative and timely. Mike was great in making sure everyone was at our house when they were scheduled to be there and made sure that the quality of their work was nothing short of excellent. We would use Jack Design again.

Jackson & Design built our Casita in the backyard They did a phenomenal job! It was a slow process to start with permits and all (why the 4 star), but when they saw the frustration my husband and I had, they held a meeting with the city, included us in it, and our work finally got started. When they started, there were workers there everyday, non-stop. It was built so quick, I couldn't believe. We will use them again for future remodeling needs because they are dependable.

We could not be more happy with our kitchen remodel. From our very first interaction in the early concept and planning stages thru the last finishing touches, we had a very positive experience. Our collaboration with the JDR team was very interactive, they listened to ideas and visions and then assisted in finding practical solutions. Being our first major remodeling project for our home in Del Mar, CA, we sought out a company that would:: 1) listen carefully to what we envisioned, 2) enhance that vision with an award winning design staff 3) present a plan that incorporated all the elements of the project with detailed cost analysis and options 4) Employ top sub contractors who could be relied on to execute the plan design with the highest quality standards We found all these attributes and many more at Jackson Design and Remodeling. JDR assembled a team of highly talented, caring and knowledgeable professionals to recreate what is now our "dream home" For this we will be forever grateful.

I did an extensive condo remodel. Needed a designer to improve the small space kitchen for 2 people and flow and added a 3rd floor office, library, & exercise area loft within the vaulted ceiling area among other improvements. It was a difficult job with limited common area parking & need for trash removal. Hired JDR as heard they were excellent in small space design & construction. I was not disappointed! Pamela is an outstanding designer along with her assistant Jennifer who changed drawings while we were meeting so we could see them on paper rather than wait and have another meeting or call. This allowed for easier design & product decisions on our part. Arnold went with me to present to the HOA requesting approval on changes for roof penetrations & a new chimney location for my fireplace. Very happy with JDR’s design! Then, there was Joe, our construction project manager. In all remodels there are surprises when you are removing walls, adding a walk-in shower, removing a bathtub that requires rearranging plumbing for a new soak tub, etc. and Joe’s experience and problem solving skills, along with Pamela, saved time and money. I had to move out because of the work and Joe was in constant contact with updates and photos of progress. During construction, I believe Joe had my interest at heart and went beyond the call to make us happy. My sweetheart & I are enjoying my new condo. The JDR design-build team made it possible. My highest recommendation!

My Point Loma house is an absolute JEWEL! It has been the family home for almost 50 years and during that time only minor cosmetic changes have been made. But over the past six months my home has been transformed. After researching several remodeling/ design companies I made the excellent decision to work with Jackson Design. Todd Jackson and his staff are true professionals. As I told him recently, never once did I worry about what was going on at the house. Every day at least one of the team emailed or texted me to keep me informed of progress. From day one to completion of the project, attention to detail, adherence to the budget and the awareness of my personal deadline were clearly evident and respected. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM CONTINUED TO BE INVOLVED IN OUR PROJECT AFTER THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. IF WE HAD ANY CONCERNS, THE MANAGEMENT TEAM LISTENED AND WERE RESPECTFUL. AFTER THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED AND WE EXPERIENCED A CONCERN WITH ONE OF OUR APPLIANCES, THEY WERE QUICK TO ASSIST. I CALLED AND WITHIN ONE HOUR THE PROJECT MANAGER HAD THE SITUATION HANDLED. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

JDR guided us through the incredible process of tearing down our home to the studs, then rebuilding it to bring our dreams to life. This group has absolutely amazing vision; we truly felt like we were a part of the JDR team as we worked closely together to make every detail perfect. We had three bathrooms remodeled by Jackson Design. Our Architect (Jim) and Interior Designer (Jen) were amazing to work with. We were out of the country while the remodel was done and returned to a brand new house! We were and continue to be very pleased with the quality and style of our new bathrooms.

Having purchased a house with a 30-year old kitchen, we knew we had to do a full kitchen remodel before moving in. There was also an opportunity to do a full 30-year « service » on the entire house (3000 sq feet, 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms which we wanted to make 4.5) but since we work too hard already, the prospect was a bit scary. We had heard too many friends telling us how their remodelling projects had gone on for double the time, double the money, ending up with them surrendering on small annoying finishing touches because they just wanted their life back... We met with Todd Jackson at one of JDR seminars. We felt that if there was one company we could trust to make this full house remodel happen while accommodating with our busy lives, it would be JDR thanks to its fully integrated approach. In a major project, you prepare yourself for things going wrong but nothing did. Twice, I was a little unsure about how my Master Bathroom and Laundry would turn out. I shared my concerns and was grateful for how quick Don Thomas (Project Manager) and Jen Pinto (Interior Designer) came up with suggestions that fully eased my small concerns. Looking back, these two small hiccups were all down to me not visualizing the entire finished project and panicking a bit along the way. Nonetheless they both listened and made suggestions that all turned out to add to the finish result : Don and Jen are huge assets to JDR and I wouldn’t want to work with anybody else. We could write pages on the exceptional quality of the work, the professionalism of every man and woman who worked on our project, from Stina Nielsen, Brent Stevens to wonderful and cheerful Al and all the framers, painters, tilers and electricians. All of them made the experience actually enjoyable because they all take pride in their work and it shows! We are people who won’t settle for average in anything we do and we know what we want and don’t want. The planning and entire execution of our remodel was flawless and the attention to details from all at JDR was outstanding. If you are not yet convinced that you need to work with JDR, let me try again : 1/ They finished the project 3 weeks EARLY. 2/ Down to every little paint patch up detail, buzzing LED bulbs and missing screw. Things we could not even have seen were pointed out, added on the punch list and SOLVED quickly. Everything got done ! 3/ The house looks spectacular !! If / When I need another remodelling project done, I won’t work with anybody but JDR with Don Thomas and Jen Pinto. I am so thankful to JDR for delivering my dream house. Thank you !
