Jennifer was just the person we needed! We quickly became overwhelmed by all the big decisions in the design for our new kitchen, and Jennifer stepped in to guide us through options and ideas with her expert insight. She listened to all of our preferences and came back with a beautiful plan that incorporated what we wanted, while gracefully accommodating some of the tricky restraints of our space. She is smart, kind, patient, has great ideas, and helped us make our kitchen a space that is lovely to live and cook in!

I wanted a unified and beautiful design for our patchwork bathroom from various past remodels. I cannot remember how I found Jennifer, probably Next-door Neighbors which has been the best for referrals. Jennifer worked with us listening carefully to our desires, tried to work collaboratively with us though I leaned on her heavily for her ideas. She helped us design a beautiful bathroom, had great people for us to work with, and did all the interfacing with them for us. She designed a beautiful built in cabinet that works with the flow of movement with a granite countertop. She particularly focused on light and textures given our darkish 1942 home. She worked closely with us, was always available, found us economical choices of materials, and is very personable and warm. One day after the remodel when the light was shining in, I fell in love with our light and airy and perfectly functioning bathroom. Thank you Jennifer for our beautiful bathroom and the positive experience.

Jennifer is a joy to work with. She picks up instantly on one's taste and dreams, and comes up with expert and imaginative suggestions. Her own taste is perfect.. Working with me she was always calm, supportive and sympathetic- no matter how crazy or worried or indecisive I was being! She is very experienced and knows what practical options are available, or else finds out very quickly - and never delays getting things moving. And she is concerned about never wasting the client's money! I cannot recommend her too highly.

Jennifer and I are currently working on a kitchen re-model. She has been wonderfully professional and personal at the same time. She laid at the numerous tasks that need to be completed on a timetable that she has kept her eye on for us, balancing sticking-to-it with flexibility, as the project demanded. Her listening and negotiating skills are top notch, both with the contractor and with me. That has really helped me feel good about the things that I was to take care of, that she was to take care of, and that we jointly worked on. I love her drawings--all the various versions that we discussed at the beginning until we settled on the final design. Her attention to detail is paramount in all she does, yet not obsessive or overbearing. I hope we have opportunity to do another project.

Jennifer is terrific. I don't know how to make rooms work -- either function or looks -- and Jennifer understands both incredibly well. In converting our family room into an office for me, she patiently worked through what I want to do in the space, suggested configuration options, and then suggested specific furniture options and colors that I really like. She made the space mine when I had no idea what I wanted.

Jennifer is through, professional, creative, respectful and enthusiastic. When I thought I had found "the rug", she hopped in the car to come see it. She worked within the constraints of our budget, helped me to find my own style while making the end result look good (I have no eye!). Jennifer has been available and responsive any time I have a question. She was quickly able to read where my spouse and I disagreed and navigated differences between us like a professional marriage counselor! I would recommend her without hesitation; your house will thank you, you will use and feel your space differently, and your guests will be in awe.

We are so pleased with Jennifer Milliken's design work on our bathroom. Our house is a 1912 craftsman. The bathroom Jennifer worked on is a guest bathroom at the front of the house. We asked Jennifer to design a bathroom that felt both fresh and, simultaneously, organically integrated with the original structure. She did a magnificent job of realizing our goals. The bathroom has a curbless shower and a linear drain. The concrete countertop is mounted on a mission style cabinet. Jennifer brought in several local artists and manufacturers to the project - from the tile (Heath), to the stained glass (Theodore Ellison) to the concrete counter (Concrete Works). There were several instances where Jennifer imagined design solutions which we simply couldn't have conceived ourselves. She was very easy for us to work with. We looked forward to our meetings with her which were always very efficient and productive, while enjoyable. Jennifer made several suggestions which reduced the cost of the project and she stayed on budget.

Jennifer shepherded us through a very detailed and complex renovation of bath, laundry and several other house improvements in kitchen and a sitting room. She was SO on it. Interesting design ideas, found good merchandise, had good humor, on top of contractor communications, checked in, on the spot with vendor followups, looked out for us, and was a delight to be around. Great with details, she seems to thrive on them! The new rooms are really lovely and striking.

We have used the services of Milliken Design on two separate projects of several months duration and were delighted with the process and the final results. We developed a scope of project plan and drew up some plans in various degrees of detail. We cleared out lots of furniture and furnishings and reworked several rooms in the house. We selected window coverings, sofas, bedroom furniture, rugs, kitchen and office furniture. We decluttered surfaces and rearranged some of our furniture. Jennifer has a fabulous eye and a wonderful sensitivity to what YOU as the client want. She has great taste and tremendous energy! She will work on finding the look you want and help you shop from the design centers to the flea markets to the estate sales and more. We will definitely hire her for future projects!
