Kami Michels

Kami Michels was the designer on my recent kitchen and bathroom renovations. I really enjoyed working with her - she made the process fun. She sweated the details, and helped me make budget-friendly choices that didn’t compromise on style. I couldn’t be happier with how the rooms turned out. The spaces are beautiful AND functional. I was especially pleased with some of the custom storage solutions that she worked into the plans. Everyone who has seen the rooms has been impressed! Kami is a pro - My projects benefited from her creativity and the depth of her design expertise.

You take an ordinary kitchen, one that looks like every other kitchen you've ever seen, and you decide it's time for an update. You talk to friends who have gone through the renovation gauntlet, read reviews on the internet, and then at the end of the day, pick a designer that your gut tells you is THE ONE. Kami Michels is an extraordinary designer, visionary and human being. She took a very run-of-the-mill kitchen (and adjacent living room space) and turned it into something truly phenomenal. "Stunning, beautiful, inspiring, gorgeous"...words others have used to describe the kitchen and living room upon the project's completion. She was asked to create a design that brought the beauty of nature into the home. Elements of the renovation included a stunning, two-story watercolor wall-mural with a botanical theme, gorgeous blues and greens the color of the sky and waters, a soft blue glass backsplash that mirrors the ethereal color of Moraine Lake, warm teal cabinets, bronze vintage scones and accents in the drawer pulls and faucet, three rustic beams with lighting imbedded within that complement the beautiful natural oak floors, it is extraordinary! This space now opens into the living room and the colors mix and flow like a river through a forest. This area of the home feels like a hug from Mother Nature herself and it is because Kami listened and then created a space that is the heart's desire. Kami is the ultimate professional and you would be wise to seek her out and embark on the adventure of your own renovation. Kami is worthy of the highest recommendation!

Kami designed the kitchen and bathroom for the renovation of our 1940s bungalow and she was truly remarkable! We connected immediately—during our initial phone consultation—and it was clear that she brings passion, skill, vision, and kindness to her design process. She listened carefully to the ideas and needs we had and designed spaces that are gorgeous, functional, and timeless. Once construction was underway, Kami kept in regular communication both with the city’s building department and with us to ensure the seamless completion of our complicated projects. She was a true partner and we trusted her completely with the two most important spaces in our beloved little home.

Kami was so knowledgeable, professional and helpful with my kitchen remodel. She really listened to what I was looking for made my dream kitchen possible. My space is not just beautiful it is super functional. I am getting close to retirement and aging in place. She suggested drawers instead of lower cabinets, handles instead of knobs, and we were able to include two pull pantries with pull outs. Everything is low maintenance. I could not be happier with Kami and DreamMaker for the beautiful, professional and timely remodel.

Kami designed our kitchen and did an amazing job incorporating all of our issues with our old kitchen. Specifically, she moved out sink which was on an angle and created a lot of wasted space. She also used her superb design skills to hide an angled wall in our kitchen by creating a custom cabinet that gives the illusion of a straight wall without the need to do any demolition! And, best of all she gave us a huge island that seat 6! We would highly recommend Kami for any project you are considering.

Kami was the ultimate supportive designer. Great eye for design, mastery of materials, flexible and accommodating to our tastes and financial goals, good communicator and liasion to suppliers, DM leadership, and the on-site team, and bottom line personable. Would definitely use her services again.

It was amazing to work with Kami on our new kitchen! She totally "got" us and had more of a vision for what we actually wanted than we did! Love, love, love the results! We keep the kitchen lights on all the time now just so we can admire her work! Even made a few esoteric accommodations for our cats! Also seemed like she was there every other day to check on progress and make sure we loved every aspect. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Kami designed our kitchen/bath/mudroom renovation and did a great job. The space is much better utilized than before, and we love the style/aesthetics she helped us choose. Hopefully we don't have to redo the kitchen any time soon, but if we did, we'd definitely have her come back and do the design :)

This was our third home improvement experience with Kami Michaels. We’ve been so pleased with her suggestions, timing. attention to detail, winning personality and overall professional work performance that we didn’t hesitate to use her again. Living in a condo development, everyone’s home is the same. Our master bathroom was a gut. removing a tub and improving storage. The kitchen has new countertops, sink, backsplash and floors.

Kami was amazing to work with from the initial conversations through to project completion. She did an amazing job listening to our issues with the old space & provided innovative & beautiful solutions. No one can believe its the same space. In addition to the beautiful design & execution, the project was completed 3 full days early and on budget.

Kami was such a great partner for our family on our bathroom remodel. We put our trust in her hands knowing that we would be well taken care of and boy, were we right! The project that we brought to Kami was a challange in many proportions. It included upgrading to a jacuzzi tub, adding a his/hers vanity and siks and a complete demotion of a 30 year old bathroom in order to pull it off. The care that Kami took from day one, until the day of sign off was nothing short of spectacular. We highly recomend Kami and hope to work with her again in the future on other projects
