Ron Roper is a passionate landscape designer with over 35 years experience. His wife Sandy is part of the "magic" behind the scenes with her insightful input and ideas from a woman's perspective. We focus first on determining our clients primary objectives and establishing a budget to meet those objectives. Once we determine that we can be a good match to align those two together we can begin to provide our services for your project. Once we begin we are committed to persevere through the process until it FEELS RIGHT with each element & detail thoughtfully imagined before committing to construction. We turn dysfunctional, disconnected & tired spaces into meaningful, meditative spaces. Ron has been recognized and awarded nationally for his pool designs and has been a featured speaker for local landscape exposition events.

Ron Roper is a pleasure to work with. He absolutely transformed our front and back yard landscaping. He knows plants, trees, rock walls, boulders, drains, artificial turf, shade overhangs, fences. He knows it all! It is reassuring to deal with someone knowledgeable, experienced and listens to his clients needs. Ron has the creative eye to visualize what landscaping would work, especially with our request for minimal maintenance, and work within costs parameters. His drawing plans are detailed and meticulous. He was patient through several revisions to keep within budget, and honest about what changes needed to be completed during the construction phase. As for the crew that brought the plans to life, they are also knowledgeable and experienced. They were timely, efficient, hardworking, and showed such pride in their work. In these times, that can be a rare attribute. I absolutely recommend Ron, and crew for any quality landscaping projects.

Ron Roper is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced landscape designer. At our initial consultation he asked many questions to ensure he understood our wishes for this project. He came fully prepared for multiple meetings during the design process and was always available by phone or email. He developed detailed plans which he reviewed thoroughly with us and incorporated several changes to the plans based on our feedback. He presented options we had not previously considered that enhanced our project; however, if we declined any of his suggestions he readily accommodated us without any pressure. Based on relationships with several designers, both for work-related and personal projects, Ron clearly ranks at the top. We would be pleased to work with him again, and highly recommend him as a landscape designer.

We interviewed three landscape designers for our project and decided on Luxury Outdoor Living and Ron Roper. We selected Ron because of his design aesthetic, his attention to our desires, and his ability to communicate very effectively. During the interview process, it was clear that Ron had a good knowledge of plants and hardscape. He asked to walk our property, which was new construction and nothing but dirt. During the walk, he discussed what he saw regarding drainage and floated some ideas based on our conversation. After selecting him to do the design work, he meticulously measured every detail of your property and evaluated the soil conditions and the existing drainage. We needed to extend our existing patio, and rather than a simple square extension, he designed a semicircular one. The rest of the yard echoed that curvilinear look of the patio offset with square and rectangular elements. He never lost focus on the drainage, lighting, and irrigation needs of the project. He was open to our suggestions and green elements we were looking for, including espalier fruit trees and a water feature. He provided guidance and advice throughout the design process and helped us achieve a project that was not only artistic but also functional. We were extremely happy with the process and final product. During the installation, he helped us to make minor adjustments and has been back to help us learn to manage the grounds.

You are in the best hands with Ron! He has been the most patient and thorough contractor we have worked with. We had a fairly large front yard project including landscaping, pathways, two waterfalls, ponds, a stream, and driveway. He even helped us figure out placement of our new garage. He created our landscape design and patiently reworked it until it was just how we wanted it. He respected our desire to keep things as natural as possible and worked that into the design. It took us over a year before we were ready to get the work done and he continued to work with us and helped see it through to the end. When there were issues during the execution of the plan, he was fair, honest and made sure any issue was addressed fully. He has been wonderful to work with and we highly recommend him. For the sake of those reading this review, during our concrete pour we had a major issue with the concrete delivery company failing to provide the integral color in some of the concrete loads which meant we had to demo and repour a significant amount of concrete. We appreciated your patience and understanding through the entire process. Things can & occasionally do happen during construction but what matters most is that the contractor handles the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thank you once again for your review. We hope we will be able to assist you further in the future.

After deciding I wanted a new look for my backyard consisting of a pond with a waterfall, I asked several people to come by to give me a quote on the project. Ron Roper from Luxury Outdoor Living was the 8th and last appointment I had set up. Within a few minutes of talking with him, I could sense that he was really interested in what I was trying to achieve. He made several suggestions on how to look at the whole picture I had in mind and make it even better with a stream instead of a pond and how to incorporate a couple of palm trees that were already there. Within 10 days, Ron had produced a complete set of plans that detailed every aspect of the design such as where the stream would be located, where the irrigation needed to be placed, the wiring for the accent lights and even where each plant would be placed and what kind of plant it would be. Once the construction began, Ron came by just about every day to make sure the crew was adhering to the plan. He was instrumental in picking out the rocks and the plants used to complete my dream. I think anyone considering a landscaping project would be very pleased if they had Ron Roper do the design for them. He is very knowledgable about all aspects of taking an ordinary backyard and designing an urban oasis. I couldn't be happier in having Ron as the designer for my project.

We were beyond ecstatic with the transformation of our front yard. Luxury Outdoor Living Inc. and Ron are definitely deserving of a 5 star rating. We highly recommend this company 100%. We felt immediately comfortable and confident with Ron’s knowledge and professionalism. It carried on over to the hard working crew as well. Always punctual to work, rain or shine. The workers were respectful of our property as wells as our neighbor’s. As Ron projected our project was completed spot on. Ron always made himself available for any questions or concerns we may have had. He listened intently to what our objectives were and our allotted budget. The end results were as if Ron took all my unorganized visions and created something we could have never imagined. It was impressive on paper but the finished result blew us away. Working with Ron on a complete re-do of our 32 year old landscaping was a delight. He did a great job of listening to our needs and wishes and incorporating them in his design, and his knowledge of plants and materials was extensive. His ear was attuned to our budget needs as well and he was excellent at acquainting us with the costs upfront. His documentation of all items and costs was detailed. In addition, he was present at installation to monitor work crews, place plants, give advice on maintenance, and make sure watering and lighting were all working as expected. Ron is easy to communicated with and responsive, a true professional.

We had originally hired Ron to redesign our landscaping at our previous home over 20 years ago. We loved the design & style of our previous yards so much. Both of us were very excited when we found Ron & Sandy, & Luxury Outdoor Living, again, in 2017. During the design process Ron listened to our extensive “wish list,” made recommendations, improvements, & many revisions. Ultimately, he came up with a design that checked all of the boxes, & thoughtfully dealt with some issues unique to our lot. And, now the design of the entire property flows together, & there are no dead or forgotten spaces. I especially like how Ron incorporated planted pots in the planters into the landscape design. And, we now love our yards as much at night, if not more, due to the well placed landscape lighting. There are even some lights in some of the pots, & there are no “creepy” dark areas at night anymore. Additionally, we have used our swimming pool more since last summer than we have the 7 previous years we’ve lived here. Our yards are not only beautiful, they are so much more functional, & we enjoy the yards more.

From our first meeting with Ron he had our confidence. His vision and expertise proved to be perfect guides for creating the most aesthetically pleasing and functional landscape possible for our property. We needed infrastructure to retain the 40' rise in our backyard and what we ended up with was incredibly beautiful. We had dreams of being able to grow our own fruits and vegetables and we ended up with both function and beauty in that arena. We wanted a landscape that would welcome and entice our grandchildren and the results clearly support imagination and play.
