My wife and I are so grateful we hired Mark Design to coordinate the complete do-over of the interior design of a 20 year-old house we recently bought in Denver. Mark Haynes and Annie Pagano worked on our project as a team, were absolutely wonderful to work with, and did an outstanding job making our home beautiful from top to bottom. There wasn't a room untouched and now our home is so comfortable and soothing from one room to the next. The level of detail, care, and artistry they put in to creating such a beautiful space exceeded our expectations. After Mark & Annie reviewed our style preferences and lifestyles, they created a comprehensive design that included repainting the entire interior of the home, new carpet throughout, refinished hardwood floors, new area rugs, wall paper, new light fixtures & ceiling fans, new tile on fireplaces, drapes & shades, furniture lay-outs, new furniture (where needed) while maximizing the integration of our existing furniture with re-upholstery as necessary. They also coordinated the placement of artwork, the acquisition of new artwork and African baskets to pull everything together. They also beautifully furnished our outdoor living spaces from scratch which are now fantastic! Everything is wonderful and we are so happy with the end result. There is no way we could have accomplished anything close without Mark & Annie. They have a network of excellent subcontractors which they have worked with for years that they coordinated and oversaw all their work. We hired Mark and Alli to design our new condo in downtown Denver. They listened to our input and came to us with an amazing design that worked very well for our needs. I've worked with Mark on 4 projects since 2017. Most recently after Hurricane Ian, he renovated the lower level of our house in FL which had been destroyed. Mark reimagined the space so it feels larger and more open. He chose contemporary furnishings and flooring that are beautiful and easy to maintain. At the same time, we gutted and renovated our primary bathroom. Mark designed a gorgeous space that feels like a luxury spa -- clean, elegant and serene. Home & Design magazine recently did a photo shoot of the bathroom (see below). Mark has an excellent sense of design, scale and balance. His attention to detail and organization skills made working remotely seamless. But there's more:-) His lighting choices aren't good, their exceptional! Mark also did the interior design for our home in CO and guests always comment about how much they love the lighting. Mark surprised us with unique pieces we would have never discovered ourselves but are perfect for the space. When we bought our house in 2021, we knew we didn’t “love” it but given the challenging market, the fact it was in our favorite neighborhood, and it met all the core requirements, we decided to move forward and then plan for a renovation. I will forever be thankful for the outstanding design Mark created for my new home. I was starting with a clean slate for decorating. Exciting but totally overwhelming. Mark listened carefully to the type of environment I wanted to create and how I would use each room. He then developed a design to perfectly deliver the feeling I was seeking. Mark and Greg provided outstanding design, finishes, and furniture recommendations for the complete remodel of our condominium. They were very helpful in selecting fixtures for the bathrooms and kitchen, as well as appliance and lighting options and window coverings. They provided the contractor with explicit details, and followed up to ensure that things were done properly and as specified. As the project neared completion they supervised the installation of furniture and a complicated multicomponent chandelier. There were a couple of problems with medicine cabinets and two sconces and they insured that replacements were ordered and installed. Both Mark and Greg stayed with the project until everything was completed as specified. We are delighted with the process and especially with the final results!

My work with Mark Design counts as one of the most satisfying collaborations of my life. The firm brought me beautiful, original aesthetic choices in color, shape, texture, scale, composition, continuity, and contrast for design throughout my house. As with any project, there are snafus --you can't rip out the wall you wanted to, or the fireplace supplier is an awful communicator-- but Mark Design pivoted and managed adeptly, so nothing ever felt like a problem for long. After six months, we spent not a penny more than planned. Is it magazine worthy? Perhaps. More importantly, my husband and I love it.

This is the second project we've had markdesign do for us and we couldn't be happier with it. My husband and I are planning to "age in place" and so we asked Mark for a major remodel of our master bathroom that would make it disability accessible, without having it look clinical or institutional. I can't imagine how it could be better. It has a true spa-like feeling with large format marble-patterned porcelain tiles from floor to ceiling. The heated floors and extra large zero entry shower with a fold-down teak bench make showering a truly luxurious experience. Thankfully, neither my husband nor I are dealing with any disabilities, but if they ever come along, we'll be ready for them! Everyone in Mark's office is a true professional and a delight to work with, and all the workers on the construction team are true artisans. I highly recommend them and will be using them again, I'm sure.

Mark is an exceptional talent! This is the second time we've worked together (both long distance) and the experience was flawless yet again. Mark brings together his creative vision, attention to detail and tenacity for finding just the right pieces, to create a home that is unique to each client. From our first Zoom call, Mark listened to what my husband and I wanted for our Colorado mountain home and was cognizant of our budget. What he created went well beyond our expectations — a home that is beautiful, warm, inviting, refined yet comfortable and ideal for entertaining. We did a complete renovation of our kitchen. It was an extremely complicated job because we own the top level of a more than 100 year old mansion in Cap Hill, Denver. We could not have done the renovation without Mark Haynes. He brilliantly addressed the difficulties presented by our rooftop condo. Our kitchen was once the sore spot on our beautiful home. It is now the centerpiece. Mark was everything we hoped for in a designer. He was both ingenious and easy to work with. His communication with us throughout was magnificent. His leadership in managing the work that our contractors did was absolutely perfect. We will continue to seek his advice for everything we do to better our home. I hired Mark to totally redesign a high-rise condo that was built in the late 1960s and last renovated 30 years ago. Mark not only listened to what I wanted but was able to run with those ideas and suggest modifications that were incorporated into the design and layout of the condo. It's been a year since work has been completed and I still receive complements from other residents of the building on the color pallet, furniture, kitchen and bath tile Mark recommended. Several of the residents say they wished they had thought of some of the design elements Mark incorporated into the space. I can honestly say that each time I go into a different room, it is my favorite room that he designed... he did that good of a job!

Mark has been really great to work with. He makes the process easy by learning our tastes, being flexible, and providing access to key professionals when needed. It would have been impossible for us to do it ourselves especially with the challenges of Covid. We started with just our living and entry areas. But once those we done, we realized it was worth the expense to gradually add the rest of the house. Mark was perfectly fine starting smaller and adding things as we went. Interior design isn’t cheap but Mark made every effort to keep expenses down and manage to our budget. We couldn’t be more happy with the end result. The condo looks fantastic.

I worked with Mark Haynes for a year and a half, starting from scratch, to create a home from a modern, vertical house. Mark and Sarah, his assistant, patiently steered my husband and myself to create an overall feeling of comfort and energy in our new place. When we offered Mark the opportunity to do the design work on the recent renovation of our downtown high-rise condo, we were asking a lot. Mark delivered. We were living 400 miles away so we needed a team we could trust to get the work done in our absence. Mark was able to present us with flooring, tiling, and fixture options that were of good quality while fitting our budget. We were interested in incorporating state-of-the-art technology into our living space, and Mark was knowledgeable about whom to contact to make that happen. Mark provided the information we needed to make informed decisions. He was always honest and set realistic expectations for us so there were no surprises. Since we were not living in the Denver area, our in-person project meetings were limited to short monthly trips. Mark respected how limited our time was by doing his homework ahead of time. Early in our relationship, Mark took the time to understand our aesthetic while also helping us shape our ideas of what we wanted to achieve and what would look the best in our space. As a result, our days in Denver were busy and productive. Using our current furniture and art as inspiration, Mark presented design boards showing a big picture concept, then worked with us to refine the choices. When we were in Denver, he always had appointments lined up to show us several well-researched options. We had hard choices to make as the options were amazing. We found Mark to be easy to work with. He is friendly and easy to talk to. His calm easy-going demeanor and his straightforward, honest communication style made us feel confident that we could trust him and that he had our best interests in mind. He always made us feel as though we were his priority and answered all our questions, be they via email, text or telephone, in a timely manner. Mark has been generous with his time. He and his assistant Sarah have been there for us throughout the planning process, during construction, during the final installation and they remain available should we need anything else. Mark has been a pleasure to work with. He listens carefully to our ideas, and then takes them to an even higher level, suggesting interesting ideas we hadn't thought of. We wanted to put a bench with storage underneath and a separate wall unit and he came up with the perfect design for both and found a woodworker with a unique style to build them. When we wanted to make a last minute change due to a new piece of artwork we wanted to display, Mark was very flexible and worked with the woodworker and us to accommodate the change, and keep the project on track. He found some beautiful fabrics for the bench and the pillows that perfectly complemented the rest of our decor. He also helped us find a new living room couch and two chairs and was willing to spend the time necessary for us to find exactly what we wanted. He has a great sense of color and style and is able to look at an entire living space and make it cohesive, but interesting and unique - one of the things we value most about working with him. He is always respectful of our budget and is up front about letting us know approximately how much of his time will be needed for a project. Mark has great resources all around the area, and seems to have good relationships with folks in various shops, both in and out of the design center. We have been working with Mark off and on since June 2014.

Mark was wonderful to work with. He was very easy-going and handled our requests and budget with great ideas and grace. At the same time, he kept the project moving when we would have otherwise stalled because of decision burn-out and general life distractions. And his attention to detail is superb. Specifically, two things stood out that really speak to his excellence. First, we had an unfortunate situation with window shades that kept breaking. He was tireless in getting the company to come out and ultimately replace the faulty product with one better suited to our application (they now work like a dream). He even got the regional rep out to fix the problem when it was clear we needed the big fish in to fix the situation. He was an excellent advocate on our behalf. The second situation was with a custom piece we ordered that was not meeting his exacting standards - he took the reins completely and we are very happy with the end result. He even noticed a 1/8" misalignment after the final install - something I had noticed but hadn't mentioned b/c I didn't want to be a nit-picker - and had the builder out immediately to look into it. All of this with a relaxed smile and air of calm - we can't recommend Mark enough.

Working with Mark was a very pleasant and rewarding experience. He was very respectful of my wishes and yet gently encouraged me to try something a little different and somewhat out of my comfort zone. After all, isn't that why you hire a designer?? Otherwise do it yourself! The result is better than I could have imagined. I have consulted and hired Mark Haynes on several home design/remodel projects over the last 10 years for my homes in Santa Fe New Mexico. My first consultation with Mark was a simple drapery project, and our most recent was a total kitchen remodel! Mark was both the budget director and designer for my beautiful new kitchen. He was able to take my "dream" kitchen, and turn it into a reality, pulling everything together for as seamless a job as possible. Mark accompanied me to showrooms and vendors to lend His expertise in selection of cabinetry, lighting, tile, granite, hardware and paint. Working with His design, everything came together beautifully. Mark prepared an achievable and accurate budget, as well as a timeline that was accomplished.
