If I could give Mark and Blue Desert Interiors more than 5 stars, I would. I absolutely would hire him again (and will) and would recommend him to anyone. After our first conversation, I knew that I wanted to work with him. He communicated with us through the entire process, gave updates, and delivered exactly as what was shown in our first design meeting. He listened to what we wanted for our kitchen remodel and asked questions. The material selection was easy because he listened so well in the initial meeting. We weren't overwhelmed with numerous choices. If we wanted to see more choices, he met us at the tile store to show us more options. He not only designs the space, but he also manages the trades (who show up on time), which made this entire renovation seamless and easy. His prices are very reasonable, and his timeline for the work to be completed was accurate. He was at our house regularly to make sure the trades knew exactly what to do. He also helped us find kitchen chairs and window coverings. Mark LaPalma and his team at Blue Desert Interiors came highly recommended to me from a friend and I am thrilled with the job they did remodeling our master bathroom and bedroom as well as another full bathroom in our home. Neither my husband nor I feel very comfortable with our ability to pick out materials that complement each other. We truly laid our entire trust in Mark and his team. They listened to every detail we wanted, made numerous trips to measure the area and came up with a truly beautiful design concept. Of course that is only half the battle and as wonderful as the design process was, the precision of the execution of that plan was on point. Mark laid out a grid that showed us every step of the process and which contractors we could expect on which days. If we weren't home either Mark or one of the team would be there to let them in. We were kept informed of any possible delays and our project was completed on time and on budget! Our project came out more beautiful than I could ever have imagined thanks to Mark and I would not hesitate to use him again for any project and highly recommend him!

We have felt very fortunate to find Mark. He helped us fully furnish a Scottsdale 70’s townhome (great taste; kept costs down as we requested) and transform the master bath from a dark hole into a beautiful and beautifully functional bath. In addition, he made suggestions for smaller modifications that really updated the whole unit. Our true appreciation of Mark came when he discovered a huge water disaster in the house (he just decided to check in on the house after a lot of rain….!). As we live on the other side of the country, he took over management of the remediation (which kept snowballing, of course) and worked directly with the insurance adjuster. We felt so grateful for his efforts – we could not have done this ourselves. All of the companies he brought into to work on our house were fantastic and there were no delays. He really connects with his clients and is an excellent communicator. He is our “go to” guy for any project and he always responds to our call. We highly recommend Mark without any hesitation

My husband and I really wanted to upgrade our master bath from what the builder installed, cookie cutter style, to the new trends with grey and white color scheme. We have put it off for 3 years afraid of all the choices, the process and just feeling lost trying to get started. We were introduced to Mark at Blue Desert Interiors and knew right away he could ease the questions and pain of trying to decide on style, tiles, and fixtures. Hiring Mark made the design and selection process so much easier on us and I was not stressed trying to decide what goes together or not. After meeting with us, he knew that it was best to give me only a few options of the layout, tiles and fixtures so that we could pick the best options from a smaller selection. It was great because I knew he had already done all the hard work getting those options to look the best for us to select. We were so nervous because it is hard for us to picture the final product but Mark has this wonderful 3D software modelling that was able to show us how it would all look together before we started the project. The final outcome also looked exactly as he had envisioned and is beautiful! We love the bathroom tiles, the design of the shower, the vanity with large mirrors and more. Mark was always available anytime we had questions throughout the whole project and quickly fixed any issues during the remodeling. He is very pleasant to work with and checked to make sure everything was correct throughout the project. We purchased a home with Southwest style, and hired Mark to transform it into cool and contemporary. This is our second home, so we were starting from scratch, and needed it to be ready when we returned in four months. With very little direction from us (other than a list of "don'ts"), Mark cooled down the warm structural elements with complementary clean and sophisticated furnishings. He presented an overall scheme for each room, and several choices for individual pieces. His detailed knowledge of audio and visual media enabled our space to be technologically current and flexible. It was very easy to work together remotely, and Mark had the house substantially complete when we returned, including all the little finishing details. He respected the budget, and was always upbeat and patient with us non-creative types. We love our new space, his choices of colors and textures lend it just the right balance of temperature and visual interest. We highly recommend Mark as an efficient, experienced professional.

We worked with Mark to from concept through completion of a beautiful renovation of our master bathroom and guest bath. From the beginning to the end of the project, we found Mark an excellent listener who could take our half-formed ideas and translate them into workable, attractive solutions. His knowledge of current techniques and materials is impressive, as is his design skill. He made it easy to select the materials for plumbing, lighting, tile, and cabinetry by narrowing our choices. Mark also served as the project manager, scheduling seasoned professionals for all phases of the job. His follow through was excellent, and he completed our project on time and on budget. We are extremely happy with the results and will call on Mark again if we decide to move forward with more remodeling.

We met Mark LaPalm when we were living in Gilbert, AZ. We loved our house, but we looked around one day and realized it needed some changes. It needed color, pizazz, fun, updating. A friend told us about Mark LaPalm and Blue Desert Interiors. And what a great suggestion that was! Mark made tremendous changes in that house. And then we moved. And there was even more work to be done in the new place. In both houses, he added color, area rugs, draperies, accessories, and wallpaper (including beautiful, calming wallpaper on the bedroom ceiling). He took us to places to pick out new art, new granite, new kitchen stools, new faucets, new bathroom fixtures. It was a pleasure to see Mark working with the trades as a team to achieve the designs he came up with. We knew what projects were going to cost, we found Mark's prices to be very fair. Often there was a diversity of people working together throughout the houses. And sometimes problems arose. Mistakes were made. And no matter what happened, Mark was the calming influence. He never showed annoyance or anger. He just got the problems fixed. We liked that very much. He treated us and all his workers with patience and respect. We heartily recommend Mark LaPalm and Blue Desert Interiors.

We purchased our condo in May of 2015, and have never used an Interior designer before, but we live 2500 miles away, and couldn't be there to organize and supervise the work. Mark and his staff took all the work out of our remodel. They shopped for, ordered and took delivery of all the items we purchased. Mark's ideas were right on the money; our place went from blah... to Bada Bing!, just the way we wanted it. From the business viewpoint; We received phone calls on any major purchases, and detailed billing for everything. That's how we had told Mark we wanted to do business, and that's exactly how he did it. He was obviously listening. On a side note; we are careful shoppers, and checked many items' prices against Internet pricing. In nearly every case, the prices he charged were as good or better than we were able to find online. We like the idea that we know exactly how much everything cost; there was no built-in markup. We thought the contractors he used were quite reasonable in view of the work they did. Mark was a pleasure to deal with; he was patient with us, took the time we needed on the phone to discuss plans, and treated us as if we were his biggest customers. The job started and completed on time. Our budget was flexible, but limited, and Mark checked with us every step of the way. We would recommend Blue Desert Interiors without reservation.

We hired Mark after interviewing several candidates. He as done a great job for us and would definitely consult with him again. He is a class act and has very good taste.

I have been working with Mark for nearly 20 years, from house to house and project to project. Each and every time, he was able to reflect my personal style, make timeless suggestions that allowed pieces to serve multiple functions and stay within budget. Aside from being a pleasure to work with, his creativity and vision is easy to follow and has true staying power.
