About Us

Design isn’t just Mark Suess’ profession, it’s his basic instinct. “I’ve always had a creative mind. When I look at things my natural instinct is to imagine how they could be functionally and aesthetically better. Detail has always been a fundamental value for my designs.” As the son of a home-builder and seamstress, Mark has spent his entire life experimenting with tools, materials and fabrics. “My mother and father had remnants and scrap building materials from projects, so I just put them together and created things.” Mark discovered at a young age that he had the ability to build what he wanted. “I like being surrounded by nice things, so I learned how to make them. I also appreciate quality because I know the difference, see the difference and feel the difference.” Mark’s world travels contributed to his creative palette as he made a name for himself coast to coast. He politely shrugged convention and blazed his own brand of global design blending such unlikely bedfellows as French provincial, Asian traditional, Italian contemporary and American casual into unique spatial solutions.

We have known Mark for many years and he has done projects for various members of our family. He is the ultimate professional. He listens and has great ideas and vision. He decorated a beautiful addition to my mother-in-laws cabin. To show you the confidence we have in him, when we bought a home in FL, he used his talents to fill an our newly built, empty home with perfect furnishings and window treatments for our lifestyle. He did it sight unseen (used only our photos) and it was all fantastic. We get so many compliments from friends who visit us. Thanks, Mark!

Mark Suess is extremely talented. He remodeled our Mississippi River from a relatively ordinary house into a fabulous home. He did an overall design which reflected our personalities and we couldn't be happier with the result. It truly is a stunning home done by an incredible designer. We highly recommend him.

Mark did excellent work on a new house we were building. The architect did not complete the final plans but Mark, was able to work with the contractors in getting every detail covered like location of electric outlets, security system, entertainment system, windows, door design and many more things that were much more than design features. He is very talented in all areas of construction as well as creative design.

Mark Suess provides a comprehensive service starting with discovering our preferences and aspirations and finishes with an ongoing awareness of our needs. Along the way every aspect of our living space is evaluated, discussed, planned, and incorporated to crate a total look and feel that meets the needs of our family. This includes walls, ceilings, floors, trim, furniture, accessories, and more. His approach has always been comprehensive and results are enjoyed for years. In addition to the approach described above I would add Mark remains coinnected with us as he will from time to time stop by with an accessory or idea he has thought would please us. Since Mark knows our taste, needs, and what we have in place it is seemingly easy for Mark to add a nice addition from time to time. Included are individual pieces of furnitutre, paintings, accessories, or even changing a color or texture of a wall to feshen up a look. We have enjoyed many of these in the past and they are all well received. We conintue to use his services as projects arise. We share our successes with others as well by recommending Mark's services to others.

Interesting design is only possible from interesting people. But "interesting" is not enough. One also must be budget and time-table minded. Mark Suess showed himself to be all of them. The dining room buffet he created is unique, surprising and a home highlight; yet somehow it blends seamlessly with our existing decor. We are dreaming up our next excuse to use him again. The process was actually fun!

Mark Suess has helped us with our office and our home. Our office was completed in 2002. After 14 years, we have not made changes and have no need to. The décor and design is classic, but yet unique. Our clients call our office "homey" and others in our industry just say "wow" and can't stop looking around.. We have lived in our home for 20 years. It was part of a Parade of Homes and Mark Suess had worked with the contractor. The home was not the standard and had character. Over the years Mark has helped update our home, and we are now preparing for what we consider to be a major remodel. Mark knows his customer. He knows our tastes and our lifestyle. Mark has an amazing creative mind. Mark listens to our thoughts, but in the end, we put everything in his hands and he never disappoints, We trust his talent.
