Timber Frame Remodel
This two story riverfront home was never completed with the exception of the interior stairway detail. The objective was to convert the home from a 1980's stucco to a timber-frame style. To accomplish that goal, recycled warehouse timbers were used to create the detail of an authentic timber-frame structure. This stick-built home needed the timbers for authenticity. Common framing timbers were used around the window openings, then stuccoed over. Roof pitches were altered to create height and to break the monotonous planes. The combination of roof finishes and standing seamed copper roof edges did double duty providing aesthetic appeal as well as design function practicality in seasonal snow shed.
