My wife and I engaged Mark in 1998 to build our home in the north Animas Valley. After visiting several homes he had constructed or was constructing and after speaking to several prior clients, Mark was the obvious choice. As we were building “long-distance”, communication was essential and in that Mark excelled. After collaborating on the design, Mark completed our project on time, on budget and with only three sight visits necessary. We were totally pleased with the end result, particularly the attention to detail, his interaction with his highly qualified sub-contractors and his overall supervision of the project. Subsequently, I have worked closely with Mark for 17 plus years as an independent contractor providing CAD support and preparing a substantial number of his finished plans until I retired in 2016. Throughout, Mark has been a gentlemen and a pleasure to work with.

Mark Galbraith was our Architect and Builder for a new home construction project in the Bayfield/Durango, CO area. We were so pleased with all of his ideas, suggestions and the work was excellent. The project came in on time, and was even better than we had anticipated. Mark was always available to consult on various ways to stage and complete the projects related to our home. Building a home long distance in 1999 could have been a big hassle as there were fewer options for communication then. Having a builder who could communicate clearly and had a reputation for quality was essential. Mark Galbraith delivered on those and many other qualities. Our home project in the Hermosa Valley was truly collaborative. Once we decided on the original design, we were able to complete building within our time frame, on budget, with only three site visits. Being respected and liked by the subcontractors and vendors with whom he works no doubt facilitated that process. Mark continuously suggested exciting design features and materials, details that turned our very functional vacation home into a little jewel. By 2007 we decided to move full time to Durango and I’m pleased that the house has stood the test of time. Still functional but now perfectly suited to a retired couple with plenty of guest space.

The work done by Galbraith Design and Builders in creating and building our Durango, CO home was top notch.
