It has been my experience in the past that its very hard to find a company that will actually do what they claim; the Mahaffey Builder Group proved to be just the opposite. I was so impressed with their quick response to my inquiry, to their dedication to arriving on time for appointments, for the care that was taken to avoid any damage to the house while the work was being done, for the amazing way that Rocky would clean up every time, and for the quality of the work that was done. Matt was a professional through every step of the project. He was quick to visit our house and provide a quote, he worked with us to reduce costs where we could, and was attentive to the project throughout the whole process. I have nothing but positive things to say about Matt and the people who work with him. I was having trouble finding a contractor who would do what they say they'll do when they say they'll do it, and Matt totally exceeded my expectations there. My 1966, wood-panelled, dingy den is now a bright, clean music practice workspace with updated walls, floor and electrical. His crew also fixed a moisture problem in my main bathroom, and moved a lightswitch that was improperly located from a previous kitchen remodel (done by a different company). Matt communicates clearly and thoroughly. Any challenge that came up was addressed in the best way possible. While I didn't find him on Houzz, I'm thrilled to leave a 5-star review here. I'll be using his company for more projects in the future. Posted old vs. new pics.

I am incredibly pleased with the work Matt did as a general contractor for my basement project. From the added living room, bedroom and full bath to the impressive work out room, every detail exceeded my expectations. I greatly appreciated his recommendations to go with stained concrete for my basement floors which saved money and was a great solution for heavy traffic and clean up. Not only did his crew finish up ahead of schedule, but they also came in under my budget. In addition, everyone who came to the house to do the work was very professional and easy to work with.
