Despite the work being started by others (we had a house fire – and the original contractors were a horror story) Morse Constructions came to our rescue. The work was excellent. Everything about Morse is reliable, dependable, and It was easy, and pleasant communicating with both the man in charge and the people in the office. Everything moved at a good pace, and we were delighted with the outcome. Recommend highly!

Morse did an excellent job on our second floor remodel which included multiple bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry room in Fall 2025. We really enjoyed the planning process which started in February 2025 and their approach to the project with picking out selections prior to starting the work. The project management was top notch and we met weekly to review progress, go over any questions and/or work through any solutioning required. We also enjoyed their use of an app to track project status, provide daily updates including photos and to maintain documentation. It was easy to keep things organized as a result. As with any construction project, there were a few bumps here and there and we appreciated Morse's approach to finding the right solution to move things forward. The work done is of high quality and craftmanship. Overall, they are an excellent and professional company to work with and we will plan to use them for future projects.

We were referred to Morse Construction from our good friends/neighbors who used them for two projects and only had good things to say about them. Our project was the second major home renovation we’ve done for our home, the first one in 2005 converted our home in Somerville from a two-family back into its original intention as a single family home. During that project we limited the scope to first and second floors of our home since we live in the house through the project. SInce we didn’t change anything on the third floor, the primary focus of this project was making that floor a more usable/practical space. We started working with Morse in March 2023 to discuss our requirements for the space and the house at the end. After a few iterations to further refine the project we decided to move forward with Morse. Our project started at the end of September 2023 and an anticipated completion in early March 2024. We removed the chimney, completely rebuilt our third floor with a higher roof line and dormers to increase the usable space for a primary bedroom suite, and reconfigured our second floor to provide office and guest bedroom space. Our project ended a few weeks ahead of schedule at the end of February 2024. We were very impressed with their attention to detail, level of engagement and communication, and the overall quality of the work. Weekly meetings on site allowed us to make quick informed decisions when needed and keep the project moving forward on schedule. The design team provided excellent guidance to support us in making decisions for our desired finishes. Overall, we are extremely happy with our renovations and are continuing to work with Morse on additional small projects at our home.

Morse did a major kitchen renovation for me, a twelve-week project June-September 2024. At every stage, the organization was exceptional, and the design and planning (which began in February) were made easy by Lisa Speziale and her excellent contacts at various vendors. Once construction started, there were photos and work reports posted every day to the client portal, and the schedule online was updated frequently, so I always knew what was happening when. I want to single out for praise the incredible responsiveness of the Morse team. Renovations and construction inevitably involves occasional mixups and on-the-spot improvisations. Whenever something didn't go according to plan, the response to my questions was quick (texts or emails often within the hour from Jared Gardiner, the project manager). Issues were always addressed promptly. The new kitchen looks terrific and I am very happy with the results.

Morse Constructions did a wonderful work managing our attic remodeling from start (design and full demolition!) to the completion of a beautiful staircase, office, and bedroom. Hard to believe these were not part of the house before. It was very easy to work with the team who paid attention to our suggestions for the design and the choice of material. Unexpected structural problems were resolved perfectly. The project manager and our on-site lead carpenter were very efficient, knowledgeable, respectful, friendly, and communicative. We really felt included in every step of the project. We had a great experience working with Morse. We worked with them on what turned out to be a whole house renovation and we are very happy with the process and how everything turned out. We have a relatively small condo (1200 sq. feet or so) and wanted to make more efficient use of its space. Morse guided us through a significant change in the floor plan, providing us with a much-needed third bedroom and powder room, as well as the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen space we had long wanted. They began by carefully listening to what we needed and wanted and then providing us with clear options to meet those needs. They raised questions for us we never would have thought of ourselves, and challenged us to think about how to meet our current needs in ways that might act as building blocks for projects to meet future needs and wants. They communicated with us frequently and clearly, including daily project update summaries by email and weekly on-site project meetings. Any changes needed to the plan, down to the smallest of details, were discussed with us prior to implementation. The Morse staff and those with whom they contracted were each, to a person, professional, dependable, and warm people. Their work is high quality and complete. We are immensely pleased with our renovated space, and are very much looking forward to the next time we can work with Morse.

We had an extraordinary experience with Morse Constructions. Every detail was attended to. The project management and craftsmanship were both top notch. Our on-site lead carpenter became an extended member of our family. He was so attentive to detail and also attentive to the flow of chaos in the morning getting kids out the door to school and would skillfully disappear as needed. Paul and his team metamorphosed our drafty dingy attic into an incredible, beautiful and versatile space! I had a pretty lofty and specific vision and the team was excited for the challenge. I was very happy with the skill and pride the craftsmen took in their work and incorporating all my ideas! From planning and design to product choices and construction, we were impressed by Morse's teamwork and communication. The lead carpenter was a joy to have on the job and weekly meetings with the project manager kept us up to date. High marks for problem solving and coordinating details made us repeat customers and we would choose Morse again.

We have used Morse many times over the years, for big projects (turning a greenhouse on the front of our house into a delightful sitting room) and small. Our most recent project was repairing a pocket door that had never quite worked correctly but had recently been completely knocked off of its track. We were worried that we would have to tear the wall apart to get at the mechanism, but Morse managed to get the door working beautifully (better than it ever had) without any work on the wall or moldings around the door opening. We were and are delighted!

We just completed a kitchen project with the Morse team and we are so satisfied. The project ran on schedule through the winter time! With having 2 small kids, we were ready for it to be very stressful. With Morse Constructions everything was taken care of for us. I had a horrible experience working with Morse Constructions. The bathroom they built is starting to show it's poor workmanship one year on. Paul assigned one project manager who quoted me $40K for a bathroom. That person quit soon after, so he assigned a new hire Jared to our project. He had no experience in home renovations as far as I could tell, and told us he studied finance in college. Jared turned out to be completely incompetent, inconsiderate and forgetful. He never gave us any information on the budget or upcoming charges. On many occasions he said that he booked us appointments or booked subcontractors only to find out that he forgot. We have a small child and asked Jared to provide advanced notice when certain contractors would be working. Jared ignored this request, and my wife was startled on more than one occasion when they would show up and walk right in. One time they arrived Sunday at 2pm and walked past my wife. Morse achieved a rare feet; they exceeded their initial budget by 100%+ and their delays exceeded the initial schedule. They left a complete mess all over my house, and basically abandoned the project when I started questioning Jared's poor performance. I relied primarily on the Houzz reviews and other reviews to select Morse Constructions. They are highly rated, but those reviews were not at all reflective of my experience.

When it comes to everything any owner dreams in a home renovation, Morse Constructions exceeds all expectations. Many houses on my street went through renovations big and small before mine, and I've heard it all! From start to finish, Morse Constructions is on time, on budget, honest, very responsive, organized and skilled, name it - you've got it!

Morse Constructions is absolutely fantastic. We are in the middle of a big kitchen/diningroom, bathroom, deck, front porch renovation, and I can't say enough good things about them. The quality of the work is topnotch, the experience and knowledge of all the crews, demolition, plumbing, electric, excavation, insulation, carpentery, etc... is just amazing. The job is done right, on time. The lead carpenter is super knowledgable and organized, and helped us already many times to make the right decision. Our new front porch is a showstopper and the kitchen diningroom area is already transformed with windows to the backyard. They deserved 6 stars out of 5!

We completed a multi-month nearly full gut remodel with Morse and love the outcome. The project included all new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, 2 additional bathrooms to the original house, removal of a structural wall and a kitchen relocation. Finished our attic space. Added heat pumps to new attic space and all bedrooms. Very few surprises. Great planning. Two month project ran a couple weeks late due to some unexpected building code requirements. End result is excellent.

They asked the right questions, designed the deck exactly as we were hoping, secured the necessary permits, and completed the job as promised wiht high quality material, excellent worksmanship and a great attention to detail. The lead carpenter was excellent at his trade, obviously smart and very easy to interact with. They completed additional requests from us on the fly and did everything to the highest standards of quality. No cost overruns, no unexpected charges and an overall excellent experience. We have done multiple re-do's of bathrooms, kitchens, and flooring in our life-time. Our experience with Morse construction was excellent. We replaced a jacuzzi tub with a georgeous walk-in shower, took out some walls to open our living space and undated our flooring to hardwood. Morse people were knowledgeable, timely, and provided high quality workmanship. I have recommended them to others and would not hesitate to do so in the future.

Morse Constructions rebuilt the window area on our first and second floors at the back of our house. The scope of work included removing a dated, 1980s-style conservatory and replacing it with a conservatory that was more consistent with out house, which is a 100-year-old Victorian. The result was a beautiful, custom-built conservatory on the second floor and, beneath that, a breakfast nook on the first floor. The workmanship is impeccable, inside and out. We could not be happier. Morse Constructions was not just about the end result. They managed this project from start to finish better than we've ever experienced before. Paul Morse spent a lot of time with us in the beginning, defining the scope of work and getting us accurate estimates from a variety of sources and specialists. During the project, they held weekly meetings with us to make sure we understood how everything was unfolding. We were never in the dark. While it was not fun to live in our house during construction, their team became a part of our family and we were sad to see them go!

I couldn't think of a better construction company owner than Paul Morse, of Morse Constructions in Somerville, MA. He is a master at running a company. He is a great listener throughout, but especially at the beginning of the process. Paul heard my intentions and hopes for the job and he helped focus both on the big picture and the details. He made suggestions, asked more questions and explained how the process would work. We agreed on the scope of the work. The contract papers were thorough, well thought out and clarified the responsibilities of Morse Constructions and the client. I was particularly impressed with the letter Morse Constructions sent to all the neighbors, letting them know about the work and leaving his contact information should there be any problems. Several neighbors commented on the respectful way the company entered the neighborhood. The project was a complete re-do of the bathroom with the focus on usability as I aged (e.g. a walk-in shower with a trench drain and a wall hung toilet that added another 5" to the width of the bathroom for passage with a walker, etc.) Our Lead Carpenter was excellent. He was skilled and kept on top of scheduling and following up with all the sub-contractors. We talked daily and kept a booklet where he noted all that was done each day and I listed any questions or thoughts I might have. He arrived on time, worked throughout the day. He was respectful and pleasant. We got along well and he was a very good listener. After the demolition down to the studs, it became clear that the bathroom was not structurally sound and was out of code. Several ceilings on the first floor had to be taken down to the studs as well. Paul hired a structural engineer whose plans allowed the project to continue. This added 10 days to the work, but it ensured safety. Paul kept me informed throughout. All the workers used booties on their shoes, so as not to track dirt into the house and cleaned up well after themselves each day. Zippered heavy plastic was taped to the door surrounds to contain dirt and dust, and heavy paper was laid out on the stairs and floors for the same purpose. I hadn't expected extending the scope of the work, but in the end the bathroom was functional and beautiful. The tiler was the best I have ever seen - virtual perfection. Please hire Morse Constructions. They are very skilled, of course, and very client=focused. It couldn't have been better!

Everything was done on time and I was informed about each step of the project. The final project looks great and I have gotten compliments about the installation. I would recommend Morse Constructions Inc to anyone who wants to improve their home.

Paul has done all the renovations on our small apartment, creating for us a gorgeous home full of light and space. He did an absolutely superb job on renovating our bathroom, such that it went from being the worst room in the house to a perfect jewel. Recently, Paul went to extraordinary lengths to find us a bathroom fixture that we had seen online, & which -- it turned out -- was only available in Brazil. We have now hired Mores Constructions for 3 projects - the latest being an almost complete kitchen renovation. The project met all of our expectations. The quality of workmanship was top notch, their main guy was respectful, helpful and consistent in making sure we were happy every step of the way. We put in semi-custom cabinets, new counters, lighting, appliances and finishing paint. The only thing we didn't change was the existing tile floor.

Morse Construction applied for the license and removed an old chimney from attic to the basement. Inserted a structural steel beam in place of the chimney in the basement. They finished the bedroom closet and the kitchen space where the chimney was removed with flooring and plastering. They also did the electric work in the kitchen in the new space. I would highly recommend their services. They delivered every thing they promised and with the price they quoted. Very proactive in the responses and tried their best to keep the job as stress free as possible. The project Manager, Byod and master carpenter Joe are both very professional and pleasant to deal with.

Paul recently refinished the floors in our new house. He worked with me from afar to make sure we could finish the job in the narrow window of time between our closing and move-in date. In addition to being a lovely, honest person, he is punctual, responsive and reliable. I'm pretty sure I've never used any of those words to describe a contractor before. We will be working with Paul and his company in the near future to get the rest of the house in order. I look forward to it!

Hired Morse Construction to repair the soffits and trim, replace the roof, gutters and paint my 1888 high style Victorian house. The work was of excellent quality and done on-schedule. Victorians building can be tricky to work on, but the subs all paid good attention to detail. I had a few requests that were addressed reasonably promptly. I like to work with professionals who know what they are doing and Morse Construction met that criteria. Now I just have to save up enough for my next project!

We requested a number of bid on a kitchen remodel/bathroom addition and Morse impressed us with the thoroughness of the bid process. We hired them despite them not being the low bid because we felt they did the most thorough job in anticipating the cost of the project. We are through the demolition and the initial plumbing and electrical and we are very happy so far. Morse provided us with a schedule of activities and an construction timeline. They have done a very good job of communicating with us which is a refreshing change from other contractors I have worked with. We have hired Morse Construction for many jobs over the years, including cabinetry, but most recently for a total gut-rehab of an older house. We have always been impressed with the professionalism and accountability of Paul Morse, and very satisfied with the quality of the work. Paul is very good at laying out from the beginning the expected scope of the job, and at sticking to the budgeted cost for the agreed-upon work. In a major rehab, such as the one on our older home, he made it clear that some extra problems might turn up as we went along, and when these did, he was pro-active in informing us of the issue, costing out various solutions, and helping us think through our options. We have also been happy to have his company do smaller, maintenance-related work for us on other occasions. The costs of the work, while not rock-bottom, seem fair, given the quality and the fact that Paul will make sure the work is done to the customer's satisfaction.

My wife and I used Morse Constructions to design and build a wall storage unit for our condo in Brookline, MA. In adddition to the built-in cabinetry, we expanded a closet and built a soffit along a 20-foot wall. Starting with a very rough concept, Paul Morse helped us refine and improve the design so that it fit our space and needs perfectly. The workmanship was excellent and the installation crew was professional and respectful. The wall unit is a showcase for our apartment and was completed on schedule and within our budget.

Great experience! I love my new space. Morse Constructions was easy to work with and created a whole new kitchen with an open floor plan into my living and dining rooms. They took a closed small space and made it open and much more inviting. In addition they renovated an old, decrepit bathroom into a much more usable space, and converted a half bath into a 3/4 bath and changed the entrance to an adjoining bedroom.

Projects include creating a unique deck off the back of my home, renovating 2 bathrooms, and completely transforming a 1950's kitchen into a one that is dramatic, beautiful and functional. Throughout all of these projects, Morse constructions staff were professional, ethical, reliable and available. All of the work was high end and of the finest quality. Paul was knowledgeable and professional. At one point during our renovation, we had a water leak in our foyer. When contacted, Paul arrived at our home within minutes and had his staff thoroughly investigate the problem, consulting with other specialists until the problem was resolved. We have always been pleased and satisfied with the work done by Morse constructions.I have no reservation in recommending them to do any renovation project, and would happily use him again.

Morse recently redid our bathroom. We had many constraints regarding timing and overall cleanliness of the areas surrounding the worksite, and they were able to accommodate them. They do a great job. They are very professional, very organized, and they communicate well. We met with them every week so we knew the owner, project manager and carpenters. They did very nice work and they kept to the schedule. We have used Morse before and we continue to use them, happy to recommend their team.

My experience with Morse Constructions was stellar. They asked good questions in the initial meeting about the project and gave us a reasonable estimate which they met - even recommending several areas where we might cut costs while maintaining quality. The project was to eliminate the drop ceiling throughout our entire rental apartment and to eliminate a mold issue in the bathroom. The ceiling was routine but the cause of the mold could have been any number of things. They went through a list of possibilities and discovered a dysfunctional ceiling fan as well as no wall insulation from the outside cold air. As the construction got under way, they discovered things like missing smoke alarms and inadequate electrical wiring. They explained what was needed to bring them up to code, gave us options and fixed them at our request. Several times we had ideas about small additions to the project like moving a closet from one place to another and moving the walls of another one. Again they explained exactly what it would take to do them right and what it would cost, giving us suggestions and options as to appearance and functionality. In spite of these additions to the project, knowing we wanted to rent it as soon as possible, they finished within a week of the initial schedule and we were able to rent it immediately. Everyone from the owner to project manager, construction manager and the workers themselves were very friendly, considerate, tidy, professional and knowledgeable. When they were done the place looked so wonderful we wanted to move there ourselves! I highly recommend Morse Constructions and look forward to working with them again.

I have know Paul Morse for many years and he has taken exceptional care and interest in my 1890's house over the years. He is always willing to explore and discuss the issues of an antique house. He is very thorough and up front about costs so everyone's expectations are the same. His staff, both in the office and in the field, are extremely knowledgable, polite, respectful of my house and possessions, and return phone calls and emails immediately. They have gone out of their way to search for materials and fixtures for my house that I wanted and have been difficult to find. I highly recommend Paul Morse and his company.

Repaired a number of issues with the exterior of our house including rotted sofet and replaced the asphalt roof on our porch with a rubber roof (the roof was done by a sub I believe). The work was done int he time expected time frame and looks good. Workers were friendly and kept the work area's clean.
