Spivey Architects, Inc.

Michael Spivey designed our custom home from scratch. We brought our ideas and special needs to Michael and with his input, we now have our dream home. He and his staff were thorough, timely and responsive.

As we imagined our new home on Kiawah Island, we sought a design team whose work was compatible with our aspirations, and who would be comfortable having a fellow architect as a client. We could not have enjoyed a more fulfilling collaboration, and we would work with Michael Spivey again any time. Both the process and the result exceeded our expectations.

Super team to work with!!! Both Michaels have contributed great ideas and professionalism to our project. We're very appreciative for their attention to our wishlist and budget. I'd say that I would use them again but they already designed our once in a lifetime waterfront dream home so that won't be necessary :) Thanks Gents!

Designs beautiful homes (my neighborhood has several) and creates real value through smart, experienced design and project oversight. Having learned of Spivey Architects too late to save my custom home project from major cost overruns and delays that could have been anticipated and avoided, I speak from experience.

Mike is 100% professional and always puts his clients first. He goes beyond what is expected of him to ensure that his clients are happy and every detail of their needs are met when designing a home. It is a great experience and he thinks of the important details that I couldn't think about when designing a home.

Spivey Architects and Michael Spivey are an extremely professional firm. Our company is currently working with them on two great projects. One of the homes is actually owned by an architect out of state which speaks volumes to us re Spivey's competence. They have a real life understanding of what homeowners need and expect and they reflect that in all of their responses. We recommend this firm highly! Cathy Buffington Buffington Homes

Michael Spivey is one of the finest individuals I know. He is an exceptional architect - our company has done photography work for him over the years. His attention to detail is outstanding, and the homes he designs are nothing less than magnificent. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Michael and his team were extremely knowledgable from the very beginning. We hired Michael initially because of his warm friendly manner, and his excitement and extensive knowledge. He was well prepared and ready to work for every meeting. This continued through out our project as he helped fulfill our personal needs and wants for our new home. He always had an answer to our questions, and came up with very creative ideas to define the space and solve any problems that arose during the planning process. Because of the detailed approach that he took when drawing up the plans, the building process has been a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We feel so fortunate to have found him!

I hired Michael for a beach house design in early Summer 2013. I had a property, big dreams, small budget, and incredibly tight schedule. I plopped my jumbled mix of ideas in Michael's lap and so began an effortless, truly enjoyable process of creation. He captured precisely the look and feel of the home I hoped for, but even more remarkable was his ability to design a home with a perfect sense of space, flow and openness. It was easy to stay involved in the process; there was a constant exchange of information, sketches and drafts. Communication with Michael and his office was predictable and pleasant. Every step of the way, Michael was a calm and supremely talented presence. He never lost sight of my budget constraints and guided my choices with a protective eye toward both schedule and budget on my behalf. A year and a half later, I sit in a marvel of a home and think of how lucky I was to hire Michael.
