We had a great experience working with O’Brien Group on a bathroom remodel and new mudroom area. Quality work and easy to collaborate with to make sure everything came out how we envisioned.

Highest recommendation possible! We have used Shannon and his company twice - once a few years ago to do a resurfacing of our living room fireplace, build a hearth and mantle and paint our 14 ft high living room. We had 3 other contractors come out and say the job couldn't be done (we wanted to turn our semicircular fireplace opening into a rectangle to look more modern) but Shannon completed it without issue. We were out of the country while he did the work and when we came back the job was finished as promised and the house clean. More recently, Shannon did a complete gut of our kitchen, as well as raised our ceiling to make it uniform by placing very long hidden beams. The final product was incredible. My wife was pregnant and our child was due early May. Shannon started end of January and was done on time, near the end of April (in fact he finished early). To get a job of this magnitude done that quickly was astonishing to me. Especially contrasted by the fact that we had another group do our master bathroom, and it took them about 5 months (we went with this group as they only worked on bathrooms and we were doing a steam shower so wanted their 'expertise,' definitely regret not going w/ Shannon to do our bathroom as well). Shannon is so friendly, honest, communicates well, and competent. His team likewise is fantastic - they would be at our house on time, leave on time, and clean up each day after themselves. It's really hard to find a good dependable contractor who consistently communicates and does great work. Shannon is one of the best, checks all the boxes, and we will never use anyone again.

We went through several local GC's that wouldn't give us the time of day. Shannon was immediately responsive and never stopped being so throughout the project. The usual ups and downs with any home reno were always met with "we'll take care of it." I have nothing but high regard for Shannon and his crew and subs. I strongly recommend you give them a shout if you want a GC that still takes pride in their work.

I would certainly recommend The O’Brien Group. Shannon and his crew are super. Communication was excellent and everyone from Shannon to the crew were a pleasure to work with. The quality of the work was great. If there were any concerns, the team worked hard at solving problems. Basically excellent work, very professional and reliable. Shannon was great to work with! I’m an Interior Designer and work with a lot of contractors, and would highly recommend him. He is quick to respond and gives you honest competitive bids, then works within a reasonable and timely manner. I would recommend him for your next home project.

We renovated our master bathroom in our home summer 2023, and we gave Shannon and his team a tight turnaround requirement due to our baby that was due in fall. The project was smooth and completed essentially without any issues. Shannon has assembled a great team who are professional and prompt. We experienced good communication, patience, and willingness to consider our questions and ideas for the project. Shannon was also great at guiding us when we had questions, or suggested bad ideas that had smarter solutions. Shannon also was fair on our budget and considerate on payment timing and requests. We threw in a few curveball add-on requests at the end of the project for our master closet and some door work, which Shannon and his team accommodated and completed still within our short budgeted timeline. The strong support and responsiveness was tremendous especially considering our home project was probably much smaller than many of Shannon’s other projects. Highly, highly recommend The O’brien Group. We will be giving Shannon more business in the future.

This group has done 3 projects in my home. The latest was a complete shower change with new tile. Very clean and quite the entire time. .

The O'Brien Group was amazing to work with. Their work is top quality and they were there when they said they would be there. Every sub we worked with was fabulous! Each day, at the end of their work, they stacked materials neatly, swept up any debris and left the area neat and clean. We lived in the house during the remodel and it was a pleasant experience all the way through. We love our new kitchen!

Shannon and his team helped renovate our full kitchen. His knowledge and attention to detail, alongside having a great relationship with his trades made the process simple and efficient. We enjoyed working with him and his team and would recommend anyone to use his services.

I regret hiring Shannon. Unfortunately it was based on Houzz reviews. He doesn’t communicate well and doesn’t follow up in a timely manner. I hired him for three jobs. Kitchen remodeling, garage work, and gate installation. Garage work and gate installation took a while because he was busy during COVID. My main concern is his service. After spending close to $100K on the above, he asked me to pay extra when the garage door stopped working. He said the wires attaching to the sensors may have been damaged. This happened within a year of the installation. Additionally, I had multiple issues with the gate opening and closing properly with the solar panel. That cost me $5000. In the end he had to remove the solar panel which I had to pay extra for. I am extremely unhappy and disappointed with Shannon. Please do NOT hire this guy.

We have hired Shannon for three jobs over the course of a year and a half and would definitely hire him again. He has the integrity to make sure the job is done right and done well. From maintaining an as clean as possible work site to beautiful professionally finished job, we are very happy with all of the work he has done for us.

A great experience! We highly recommend The O'Brien Group, Inc. We weren't sure what to expect, having heard bad stories about other contractors, but were very pleasantly surprised and have no complaints at all! The project (complete kitchen and panty remodel including new cabinets & removal of a wall, new ceramic tile floors in 4 rooms, wood floor refinished & 19 doors & frames replaced) was completed within agreed upon timeframe and within projected cost estimate, with funding adjustments only for additional or special items we ordered after the initial contract. All workers from O'Brien and various subcontractors were excellent, friendly, helpful & trustworthy. O'Brien owner stayed on top of everything, was immediately available for questions and kept us informed throughout the process. Definitely recommend!

Excellent work done right the first time. He quoted our job from 15 September to 15 December. They started 8am Sept 15th and we moved back into our house December 15th. Highly recommend Shannon's crew.

Shannon O'Brien and his team were hired by me to construct a 300 SF addition to my personal residence consisting of a laundry room, storage room, and a second floor walk-in closet plus the complete remodeling of my wife's bathroom. I am an architect and rather detailed-oriented. The O'Brien Group did an excellent job with the construction details and often offered suggestions for special conditions. Beyond that, I was in the hospital for a month during the middle of construction. Not only did construction proceed on schedule, but also Shannon O'Brien personally checked that all doors were locked and security was in place throughout the project. This was clearly beyond the normal scope of responsibility. As to the project cost, I had bids from several contractors, some of whom were below The O'Brien Group's bid. Nevertheless, I chose them for the work because I perceived their capabilities above the others. My perception proved to be correct. The quality of the work was only surpassed by their professional integrity..

I hired The O'Brien Group for remodeling work in kitchen and bathroom. Shannon was careful when dealing with outside vendors to keep my costs down. His employees did some of the work and outside tile people did the rest. I will definitely hire The O'Brien Group for future projects. Since the major work was done I have employed Shannon's own employees for handyman work around my condo, I can trust them in my condo when I'm at work, the work is done properly and the price is right.

The O’Brien company remodeled my kitchen. They were very punctual and efficient. They came and stayed all day on my job—not leave and do another job. They were very willing to do anything I asked them to do. Very good job.

I hired Shannon, mainly, to turn my detached 2-car garage into an office/single-car garage. On top of that, he also added some cosmetic features and repainted the exterior of my home/back porch to match the new garage. The garage, built in 1954, was old and in need of major structural repairs before it could be finished out. His team did a fantastic job of listening to what I wanted and offered opinions and options when needed. They took their time, paid attention to detail and did a marvelous job. They were very easy to work, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I had a total renovation of my kitchen and half bath. I had dreaded the renovation for years and had postponed it as long as possible. I interviewed several contractors but felt most comfortable with Shannon and his associates. His workers were always on time. He was my advocate. The people and businesses he works with are top notch. I'm thrilled with the outstanding workmanship! I'm a perfectionist and I could not ask for a better experience.

Shannon O'Brien and his team are great to work with. We initially hired them three years ago to reconfigure our garage. We most recently used them to completely redo our master bedroom and master bathroom. Shannon is extremely responsive and worked well with our designer. There were minimal issues that arose (as to be expected in any project) and Shannon handled them promptly and appropriately. After meeting with several contractors, I hired The O'Brien Group to re-build the sun room on the back of my home. From our first meeting, I found Shannon O'Brien to be very professional, personable and pleasant to work with. After discussing the project with me, he recommended an architect who worked closely with both of us to visualize and draw up the project. Once work began, Shannon oversaw every aspect of the project, and I was appreciative of his knowledge of the craft, his attention to detail, and his regular communications with me. I also was impressed with the proficiency of both his crew and his subcontractors. While there were minor delays due to weather and inspector visits, Shannon made every effort to stay on schedule. He quickly addressed and resolved any concerns I had, and suggested options when faced with unexpected problems. Shannon and his team took an apartment that was not treated well at all, and transformed it. Pictures attached! Shannon's guys were all trustworthy, friendly, and really good at their jobs. Our job took about a month, and even when we lost power they kept working! As opposed to most contractors, he beat the deadline. Anything I needed done, Shannon knew someone for. Rather than coordinating among 6 specialists, I just dealt with Shannon. Much faster, much better outcome. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone!

After trying for months to find a contractor to put new counters in my kitchen, the O'Brien group was recommended to me. Shannon was very polite, helpful and made himself accessible through email and phone calls. He was always willing to answer questions - I had a lot - and never made me feel like I was being a bother. As a senior, I am more cautious about who I have come into my house. I was so comfortable with him that we did a bigger make over in the kitchen and our bathroom as well. Shannon's crew was neat, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. All the work was done properly and to code. It looks even better than I had envisioned. Shannon personally made sure we were happy with all phases of the job and completely satisfied. My husband is picky and not easily pleased but he loves it! The O'Brien Group Have completed a variety of projects for our home including: deck railing, deck floor repair, siding repair and replacement, replaced a wood fence, interior and exterior painting. All work was completed with excellent quality and in accordance with the estimated cost and plan of work provided and approved prior to starting work. They provided outstanding value and are our first choice for future projects. Best contractor I have ever used. Helpful, skilled and timely. Shannon did a project for my brother and I asked him for dibs after he was done there. His main crew are orderly and clean up after themselves and do good work the first time. Shannon is an excellent carpenter and did most of the fit and finish work himself. My project was pretty small and he remained 100% involved until it finished. He and his crew did more than I expected. I will use The O'Brien Group again.

This contractor was very professional. He showed up on time and was prompt in responding to communication. He offered a very well defined and detailed estimate for our bathroom project. I felt very confident in his expertise and recommendations. Although we ultimately hired another contractor based on a slightly lower cost estimate, I would not hesitate to contact Shannon O'Brien again for another project.

Bids exact in regards to start/completion costs and stated work. Always there to discuss needed adjustments. His work is" top drawer", five star, and family friendly. One that I feel comfortable with having access to my home. He has done work for friends--from total home re-do to smaller projects. Each one despite amount of money spent was given undivided attention. Work done for me in previous home was redo of guestroom that included new bath countertops, bath and shower fixtures, new light fixtures, removal of dated wallpaper and panting. After moving into my first ever new build, Mr. O'Brien added custom features(iron fence railings to covered patio for safety, custom pullout shelving for cabinets where I did not have for pot drawers and closet adjustments. This work cost me far less than would have at build time. I could not recommend one more.

I am in the real estate business, and O'Brien Group is my first stop for all things home renovation. Shannon O'Brien has an eye for detail, and has never done anything "half-way", because quality matters to him. He is prompt and reliable, and has never changed the price at the last minute or left anything unfinished.

My wife and I had finally decided to do a full kitchen remodel. We wanted to update and open up our floor plan which included removing a wall from the kitchen to the formal dining room. Shannon was one of two contractors that we discussed our plans with and we felt very comfortable with him from the start. He liked our ideas, added some of his own, told us what was doable and what would unnecessarily affect cost and the conversation was very reassuring. We made our final plans, received a very reasonable quote and proceeded with the project. It was early summer and the thought of having the kitchen out of commission for an extended period of time was part of what kept us from doing this years earlier. Shannon scheduled and planned the project extremely well and had his crew as well as sub-contractors planned out very methodically. We started demolition on a Wednesday I think and it was completely finished in 22 days. The work involved included demolition of a wall and restructuring the header, two rooms painted, new tile floors, cabinets removed and modified, new double level island/bar, new custom vent hood and cabinets, installation of drawer microwave, oven/range and dishwasher, granite counter tops and tile back splash. We were very satisfied with the quality of workmanship, impressed with the work pace and scheduling and thoroughly happy with the experience overall. I would recommend this company to anyone I know and I plan to use them again somewhere down the road when another large project comes up.

I bought an old home about 5 years ago and The O'Brien Group did the initial remodel and worked on as we continue to make updates. They are true craftsman and you can count of them to make sure your project is perfect. The owner, Shannon, has great character and it's reflected in his crew. We were looking for a company to install a cedar mantle above our fireplace. Shannon and his team were very professional, kind, and efficient. They completed the job in a timely manner and exceeded our expectations in service. We would use Shannon again in the future and we recommend his work!

The O'Brien Group did the repairs and some remodeling (including a complete redo of a bathroom) at my home following a fire. Shannon O'Brien worked with my insurance adjuster to get me the best deal. He also helped me to pick out all materials needed while keeping an eye on my budget. The work was completed in about a month. Workers came out in a timely manner to correct a few minor items after the job was finished. This was the second time I had used the O'Brien Group with excellent results. I would definitely use them again.

They are a very professional group to work with and we would definitely hire them again, in fact they are estimating a renovation of our backyard deck and fence at this time. The O'Brien Group recently did a kitchen renovation for me. Shannon and his crew are skilled and respectful. I appreciate that he let me know each step as it unfolded and was mindful of my budget expectations (even with some additions), They cleaned up at the end of each day so we were able to function in our home even with expected disruptions. My husband and I were looking to purchase our first home together and we weren't able to afford a move in ready home. We found a house that we planned to purchase and even got through inspection; however the deal eventually fell through. Shortly thereafter, our financial situation changed, and we were not able to purchase. The O'Brien Group was one of three companies that we sought advice from and obtained bids for while doing our due diligence. We were planning to buy a 2 bedroom 1 bath home and convert it into a 2 bedroom 2 bath home. We also planned to relocate the laundry hookups, and an old electrical panel that was located in a closet (not up to code). Shannon met us at our potential new home during inspection and discussed all of the problems that were discovered and added this work to our bid as well, all within a days time. As I said, we did not end up purchasing, and so had no project for Shannon to work on, but we felt that Shannon really went above and beyond the call of duty. As newlyweds and first time (potential) homebuyers, we needed a lot of guidance and some reality checks, and Shannon was understanding, not at all dismissive (some others were), and overall very kind and helpful. I highly recommend Shannon and plan to call on him anytime we need any projects, once we finally buy! He is very detailed-oriented, knowledgeable and I am grateful to have met with such a hardworking and honest individual.

We have used the O'Brien Group on multiple occasions to do work on both our current and former homes. In our former home, they provided drywall, texture, painting and trim installation services for our garage. In our current home, they completed a project to re-frame two garage doors by resizing from 8-ft and 16-ft into two 12-ft door openings. The work involved reframing the openings and moving the support column 4 feet from its former location to the new location. This included removing and numbering each natrual stone in the column, and then reassembling in the new location after the new column was framed. The work also included final trim and painting of the new openings. When completed, you could not tell that the column had been moved. It looked the same as before. All work was timely completed as promised and for the agreed price. Shannon O'Briemn was very knowledgeable and very professional in both projects that I have hired him to do for us. Will not hesitate to use O'Brien group again if the need arises.

The O'Brien Group has served as general contractor for several major renovation projects at Zion Lutheran Church and School. All projects were completed on time, within budget and met all expectations for quality of workmanship. We would not hesitate to utilize the O'Brien Group for projects in the future.

The O'Brien Group, Inc. acted as contractor for remodeling our residence and our business. Mr. O'Brien has extensive knowledge and years of experience in all aspects of both residential and commercial remodeling. He listened to what we wanted, provided us detailed estimates, hired and coordinated all the tradesmen, met timelines and was a good problem solver when unexpected issues arose. Our residential remodeling included wood flooring, tiling of a fireplace and bathroom, changing popcorn finished ceilings to smoother textured ones, extensive drywall texturing, installation of new crown and base molding, making/staining and installing new fireplace mantle, installation of gas firelogs and new glass doors (the gas ignition key had to be shortened also), repairing a leaking whirlpool tub, installing faux ceiling beams, installing an electrical plug into a slab foundation, etc. Our commercial remodeling was pretty much a gut job...total renovation of office area. There was wall removal, moving doors, adding doors, adding security lighting, changing exterior windows to glass entry doors, installation of lighting/ceiling fans in the office/break room areas, installation of exhaust fan/light combos in two restrooms, installation of commercial grade tile, adding crown and base molding, replacing cabinets (break room and two restrooms), replacing sinks (break room and two restrooms), retexturing walls and ceilings, adding slat wall paneling for display, installing additional windows in warehouse area, etc. We would hire The O'Brien Group, Inc. again for any remodeling work we need done. All workmanship was excellent.

I really enjoy working with Shannon and his team. They complete projects on time, are courteous, and have a good sense of what a project costs. He is honest with the cost of a project up front and I have never been surprised. He is also easy to work with if I need to change the scope of a project and is willing to give me ideas on where I can save. Whenever Shannon comes to my house to give a bid for a project, he looks around to make sure the prior work he did is holding up. He is our "go to" guy for remodeling- I think he worked on just about every room of our house! We also know many of his subs as well- he has been working with same people for the 6 years we have known him.

The men who came to work at our house were always respectful and cleaned up after themselves. The work they completed was done in a timely manner and according to what they promised. The final result exceeded our expectations. All minor questions and issues were answered and dealt with quickly.

Had Sheetrock repair tape and bedding and new French doors put in with cedar sorround on the outside .. Very easy communication and always on time .. Clean clean clean !! We intially hired the O'Brien Group in 2010 on the recommendation of our decorator to remodel our upstairs bathroom and replace upstairs carpeting with hardwood floors. We were extremely impressed not only with the professionalism of all parties involved but with the coordination of the work. All contractors closely adhered to the time schedule and understood the sequence in which the work needed to be accomplished. We were amazed at how smoothly the remodeling project worked. So much so that in 2012 when we decided to remodel our master bathroom and other downstairs bath, we again contracted with the O'Brien Group. Again the project was completed in a professional and a timely matter and we were extremely pleased with the result. If needed, we would not hesitate to use the O'Brien Group in the future.

I've hired The O'Brien Group to do a number of projects at my house from a full-kitchen demo and remodel, to a living room remodel (including a custom bookcase), and changing a wet bar in the living room to a pantry across from the kitchen. I've been very happy with the work and find Shannon and his crew to be courteous and respectful as well as providing a fair price. Services I wouldn't expect to be associated with a contractor, he was able to provide (including wall to attic clean-out of my dryer vent). The companies he uses for subcontract work are very talented and follow the same level of respect that his own team exhibits.
